The Strip wasn't as bustling as it usually was. Being only just past nine in the morning, the neon lights weren't visible and the whole place just seemed dead. But the sky was clear and the air was nice. A really pleasant Spring day overall.

A number of the businesses were still open, of course, and the address that had been scrawled on the note left for Pandora led to one of them. It was one of the sex hotels that dotted the Strip. Nothing special in the grand scheme of things, but this one had particular significance to Pandora and Malara, being the place they first got together.

A concierge waited near the front door, holding a small sign with Pandora's name on it.

Pandora clutched the letter she had received in her hand rather tightly as she expertly navigated the many narrow alleys of the strip. It had been a small while since she had been here last. In truth, she had little need for such places since her children were born. But there was one place, one derelict little place that held a special meaning to the spider. It wasn't far from where she was, and it was her intended destination. The place where she first met Malara.

She had thought about that day many times. If things had gone differently that day... If anything had been different, her life would not be the way it is now. She would not have her children, nor would she have a partner who was every bit her equal. She would be alone, and miserable, and possibly dead or in jail. She owed a lot to that day, to that stupid random encounter. She owed a lot to the misjudgment on her own part. In fact, had she recognized the goddesses true power, she would never have attempted to eat her then.

Still, she couldn't help but grin as she neared the spot. The closer she got to her destination the more memories came back. That first night they spent together, then the next day, and the night after that. They had been insatiable in their lovemaking, and it had lasted days.

Near the front door stood a concierge, holding a sign with her name on it. This was puzzling to the spider as she neared. Was he supposed to be some sort of offering? A treat perhaps? Some innocent who had no idea the fate that may have awaited him? Or was it Malara herself, playing some sort of trick on Pandora? Only time would tell.

"Alright, I'll bite. Where is Malara?"

The man at the door smiled pleasantly as the spider woman approached. He had been told what she would look like, and he was not the least bit surprised by her appearance. He, in fact, remembered the two of them. He hadn't been wearing such nice clothes back then, but he also hadn't been paid nearly two grand to merely deliver a message either. They had been ravenous, and their bill had been quite high, if he recalled correctly.

Tucking the sign under one arm, he bowed slightly at the waist, his eyes never leaving Pandora.
"Apologies, ma'am. Miss Tor isn't here. She gave me special instructions to greet you here though. I am supposed to give you this."

He held out another letter. This one was held in an envelope traced with gold spiderweb patterns. It was sealed with a lip print pressed into wax.

Sorry for sending you on this wild goose chase, darling. But I needed time to prepare for your surprise later. I promise it will be worth it.

Do you remember this place? Because I do. You hadn't expected me to put up a fight. If I hadn't, life would have been very different. I'd be dead, and who knows where you might be. I'm so glad our first meeting ended the way it did.

This is just your first stop though. If you're feeling hungry, the man I hired to deliver this letter is a regenerator. Don't fill up though, maybe just an arm. Dinner will come later.

Your next destination is the place I first told you I love you. I trust you remember. If not, WELL, a hint might be in order.

Your Until the Universe Collapses,
Malara

Another letter? Really? So this was a game now? A hunt as it were. Pandora sighed with a smile as she took the letter. "Thank you, sir." She purred as she opened the next envelope. Her eyes widened along with her grin as she thoughtfully cupped her head in her free hand. The letter was sweet and promised a surprise. How delightful thought the spider as she looked up from the letter to the man in front of her. The letter stated he was a regenerator, she could eat him if she wanted. Though now, she was far too excited to eat.

"So She wants to play a game does she? I suppose you don't know much more than this eh? Wouldn't do me any good at all to grill you for information? No, I doubt it would. Malara knows me too well." She seemed to be having a conversation with herself, even though it was directed at the man in front of her. Needless to say, she was not about to eat him, not when she had much prettier prey to track down.

"Do you know where it was that she first said I love you to me? Of course, you don't, you weren't there. But let me tell you... It was amazing. And I was terrified." She spoke again to the man, before turning sharply, her legs clicking as she rotated on the spot to face a general direction.

It had been in October. In the maze. They had had some fun sure. Pan had even killed and tortured a few people along the way. But when things got really bad, Malara had declared her love for her, and Pan had... Not known what to say or do. Then she had died. And it was a mess. she had fucked up that day so much, and in the process, she had hurt Malara deeply. When she got back from hell, she had promised the goddess never to leave again.

"Well... It's been fun. But a fox awaits me, and I best not keep her waiting. Ciao" she purred again as she took off.

It took her only twenty minutes or so to get to where she needed to go. The land where the maze once stood. Luckily after the wicked old man had been killed the maze had deteriorated. Not that it had done her any good being dead. Needless to say, the spot, in particular, was near the center, where the old barn stood, next to the well.

This time there was no person waiting. Just a box, sitting on the edge of the boarded up well. It was wrapped in luxurious paper that gave off a feeling of fire. Red and gold and orange swirling together.

There seemed to be farmhands working the fields, or a single farmhand rather. But he paid no attention to Pandora and kept at his work. The barn was mostly rebuilt and it seemed like the place was almost back up and running.

The box contained an iPad, preloaded to a video. Malara's face blipped onto the screen, smiling mischievously at whoever would happen to be watching.
She spoke, a playful lilt to her voice.

"I love you, ya know. That's what I said. So casual, but that's how things were between us, wasn't it? Looking back, I don't know if I really understood what I was saying. Maybe I still fully don't. But godsdamnit, I love you.

Your next location is where you first showed me our girls. I know Dalia is the only one who is mine by blood, but I'd tear apart mountains for any of them. I'd fight monsters and Gods and the legions of hell itself for any of you.

Ah shit. I'm running late. Anyway. I love you, Pandora. See you very soon."

Malara moved away from the camera, showing a flash of a pauldron on her shoulder as the video ended.
