Tadashi had a stupid grin on his face. "I don't blame you, we've spent almost all of our lives not knowing what happened to each other. I don't know how you would have found me, I lived out in the middle of nowhere- I didn't even go to a school."

He looked curiously at Tomomi, "unless you have some magic way of finding people? People have stranger gifts than that here, from what i've seen."

Tadashi sat so that he was facing Tomomi. "I was 10 when I changed. I was so scared because I had been losing patches of my fur. Then I woke up as a boy and..." He winced and his smile went away, "I-I scared the man who had adopted me so much he died. I tried to wake him, but he wasn't moving just like mom wasn't."

"I ain't got any finding magic but that ain't an excuse. I could've dedicated myself to finding ya, but no, I lived comfortably like some, some, fatass house cat!"
Tomomi pulled her hair and sighed.
"But what's done is done, I guess. Besides, I got ya now."
Tomomi listened Tadashi tell her about his change and Tomomi pulled him into a hug.
"I'm sorry Tadashi, that must've been awful. I can't begin to imagine..."
Tomomi stroked his back and smiled as she pulled back. Then she went serious again and told her story.
"When I changed an' woke up as a 7 year old kid my owner, this little girl, thought I was her imaginary friend come to life. We went to her parents an' I told them who I really was. They got real spooked, they had heard all the shitty tales about bakenekos an' believed them, an' then they took the kid away an' the father dragged me to the shed an'...took..an axe..."
Tomomi shivered and raised her right hand where there were two fingers missing.
"I...I..killed him..."

"Hey, don't knock being comfortable. And you and I both know that we were never going to be just boring old house cats. Really, all things considered my life hasn't been that bad. The old man who had me for so long kinda taught me how to draw."

Tadashi's own small smile returned to his face as Tomomi comforted him and it remained there, only wavering a little bit as she told him about her change day. He closed both of his gloved hands over her right hand. "Shh, as you said: 'what's done is done.' You are alive and safe."

He then released her hand, giving it a little pat. "I've hurt people too, though I didn't kill them. I know I would have if I hadn't been stopped. There's... something else we can become. I know I can't control it and honestly it scares me."

Tomomi hung heavily onto Tadashi's hand on hers, hung onto it to keep her in this moment and not let her mind wander to the day when the hand holding her hadn't been so soft and kind.
Tomomi sighed and breathed deeply a couple of times. She was safe and well, no one would harm her. Tomomi smiled at Tadashi weakly and nodded.
"I was found by a nice person in the end as well. Kikuko is a tough ol' prune but I love her."
Tomomi chuckled and patted Tadashi's hand as well when he said he was scared of the half-cat mode.
"Don' worry. If I'm bein' honest, I'm scared of it too. But all the times I've used it it saved lives. Heck, thanks to it I survived this."
Tomomi pulled on her shirt and showed the bullet wound scar on her shoulder. It was becoming lighter every day.
"An' I've got a matchin' one on my belly. Wanna see?"

"No wonder you ended up here, being raised by a prune was bound to make you stand out a little bit," he joked. "But seriously I'm glad you found someone like that. A lady named Esumi found me after the old man died and I went to live with her. Lessons were boring but working in the cafe was ok I guess."

Tadashi turned a little so he could stretch out his legs a bit. They were starting to fall asleep from being sat on. "If you say so, maybe i'm just diff... Aw gross. I don't need to see all that." He laughed and mocked covering his eyes, making it clear he was messing with her and not actually bothered by the scar.

He nervously adjusted the gloves on his hands, "I don't know if I should ask, but is our sister here too?"

"Hey, even you are my bro you can't diss the ol' hag. That's my job."
Tomomi laughed and playfully kicked Tadashi lightly.
"I'm happy that ya found someone too. I got to go to evening school and didn't have to take remedial classes here. Science sucks though. I'm skipping it now."
Tomomi grinned.

Tomomi was ready to kick Tadashi again if he fell asleep.
"Ya ain't different, I was always the weird one, remember? I think the 'gross' scars as a medal of honor or some shit."

Tomomi went a bit serious again when Tadashi mentioned their sister and shrugged.
"I dunno Tadashi, I really don't. But we made it to each other. Maybe she'll find her way to us too, some day."

Tadashi raised his hands in mock surrender, "Ok, ok I won't steal your thunder. Though I might just grab your foot if you keep doing that."

"I don't really like school. Its so boring and I get in trouble for sleeping. And not doing my homework. Which i'm supposed to be doing now I guess....but you saw what I think of that," he shrugged.

"Yep, definitely the weird one. Always making trouble," he joked and stuck out his tongue at Tomomi. He leaned over to lightly punch her in the leg, "just try not to get too many medals, ok?"

As Tomomi seemed sad that they hadn't heard about their sister, he offered a small smile, "If we both made it here, I bet she does too. She's not that different from us so its probably just a matter of time."

Tomomi was just grinning continuously now, she was just so fucking happy that she had found her bro. She suddenly hugged Tadashi again just because she could.
"I'm sure sis will find us some day too. Right now I'm just gonna be happy that you're here."
Tomomi pulled back and looked at Tadashi.
"But now that I know you're alive I'm sure sis is too. And I'm ready to earn a medal or two to find her. I mean, I changed at 7 an' you at 10. She might've changed just year ago Tadashi, she could be scared an' confused an' all alone somewhere."
Tomomi looked determined.
"Changin' was hell for me an' to you too. I don' want to imagine how it could be for her, suddenly being a 13 year old when she wakes up."

Tadashi was happy to let her hug him, though he seemed a little surprised each time. Despite his calm demeanor he was overjoyed at finding Tomomi. Or rather her finding him, technically. He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a squeeze until she pulled back away again.

"I don't know how but we'll find her. I don't want her to be alone either. Alone sucks and if she isn't here that means she might be in danger." He shivered a little, "I don't want to think about having not turned until 13. No time to practice changing back and forth without being caught by humans."

He stopped to think for a bit, "So who should I watch out for here? I've kinda been keeping myself company with my drawings so far."

Tomomi noticed that Tadashi got surprised every time she hugged him and Tomomi grinned. He would just have to get used to it, Tomomi was gonna make sure of that. She wasn't stopping hugging for the next 500 years.
"If, no, when we find her we'll help her, whether she changed when she was 7, 10 or 13. Meeting ya was such a rush, still is, so I'm definitely meeting her too. Ya can take my word on that."

Tomomi chuckled at Tadashi.
"Ya were always the whimsy type, o brother mine. I'm buddies at least with Remi, John an' Jii. Jii is my girlfriend too. An' John is gonna get an ass whooping from me 'cos he got himself arrested. Remi is just all around nice guy. An' there's Roa, an' Kiyoko, an' Aimouryllice an' Bobby and many more, I can't even remember all their names. Pretty many people here are nice, though Roa is kinda cranky an' there's the werecat Eon, he deserves to choke on a feather."
Tomomi laughed and bumped Tadashi's shoulder playingly.
