Catfish

It was a typical class day, close to the beginning of the year. A year of opportunity; he could learn here, expand his knowledge, explore... Possibilities were endless. And it made Ryuk extremely excited. His main objective, though, was to make friends- lots of them! He would take them to his dorm sometimes, cuddle them, tell them nice things.. he burned his cookies last time he baked, but he could learn to not burn them and give them to these friends, too!

His current "target" was a boy he shared class with.. He'd missed his name, but he couldn't help but noticed he looked a little sad. He'd given him some glances throughout, and couldn't help but feel his heart reach out to him. The poor thing.. he probably needed some happiness in his life. Happiness that Ryuk was more than happy to help him find. That, and.. he had ears! He was like a kitty, that was super cute!!

Determined to befriend this dark haired stranger, he walked right up to him as soon as class ended- and couldn't help a giggle as he was noticed. Those ears must have sensed him coming a mile away. That said, he took him not immediately running as he saw him a welcome, and decided to take his hand so he could shake it, as well as properly communicate to him.

It could potentially still be heard even if he did not manage to touch him, but his attempted, radiating thoughts were, "Hello. I am Ryuk, it's nice to meet you," as he gave a warm, gentle smile.

Ryuk had expected a response, as he shook the boy's hand- he just hadn't expected it to be thought to him. His eyes lit up like a fireworks display in the dead of night as that voice resonated in his head, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards into an excitable grin.

... And rather unfortunately, this excited him enough to make him want to hug this boy- Edward, he called himself- so he lunged forward, arms spread wide as he attempted to cling, and snuggle him. "You do the thinking! You think too!" High pitched little squeaks and chirps brewed from him as he giggled, clearly excited. "Edward, you're the best! The bestest best ever! I like your thinking, it's pretty!"

He was momentarily distracted by such excitement by the question, which caused him to pause, thinking over it just a moment. A smile then came to him. "I am," He thought to the catboy, his expression quite warm and welcoming, "I'm newer than you, actually.. I only arrived a week ago, or so. It's been fun! Everyone is so nice and pretty! I wish I could take them all home with me and make them nice things, and then we'd be a big happy family! Do you like being new? Does being new make you happy?"
