The door to the gym creaked open and Andrew walked in. He wasn't a really athletic person in particular, but what did that really matter? Running was a good way to let out frustration. He wasn't upset about anything certain, just the normal stress of his entire life.

Stretching momentarily, he began running laps around the gym floor. He counted the laps he ran in his head. 1...

...2...

...3...

...4...

...5...

At the end of the fifth lap, he stopped where he'd begun, trying to catch his breath. He dropped to the ground and rested his arms on his knees.

Andrew froze when someone started applauding. He turned and looked at the girl, raising an eyebrow. "boy meat"? Then he noticed her fangs. That explained that.

"Uh, thanks?" It was said as more of a question, because he couldn't tell if her words were meant to be sarcastic or not. He thought it the previous, however.

To her question about how many laps he was capable of running, he shrugged. "Dunno, I don't run much." He stood and ambled over to her, figuring that she wasn't the sort to let a conversation trail off so soon.

"I love to give compliments to lunch."

Uh, yeah. That wasn't at all bothersome in any way, shape or form. Yeah, sure, his life might really stink in some ways, but that didn't mean he wanted to be someone's lunch. He realized then that he had been staring at her blankly and he shifted uncomfortably.

"Kidding. I'm a human vegetarian."

Andrew knew he already seemed really stupid, so he risked sounding stupider. "Meaning?" He asked, with a raised eyebrow. He didn't feel like replying to "why even bother?", so he just didn't.

"You amuse me. What's your name?"

"Glad to be of service," He replied dryly, most obviously not amused by her or this conversation. "Andrew; Andrew Ross Clark if you want the full version." He then waited for her to supply her own name.

"I don't feed upon humans. I actually enjoy their company more than vampires...but I haven't really met that many. Anyways, I feed off of animals, or I don't eat at all."

Andrew relaxed visibly. That was comforting; he wouldn't have to worry about being eaten. "Oh, I see. I guess that'd be hard..." He said. He didn't know a ton about vampires, but he thought it would be strange being around other vampires.

"I'm Nyax Hana Josephine"

A unique name, and it fit. "Nice to meet you too," He said, feeling that it was a half truth. She wasn't the most absurdly annoying person he'd ever met and she was somewhat interesting. Still, he just wasn't a people person at all.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Andy."

Gah, that nickname! He hated it. But he could tell she was joking...so he just rolled his eyes, and one corner of his mouth curled up into a half-smile. Far be it from him to actually smile.

Eep! Andrew didn't like being touched whatsoever, but when she punched him, he made sure not to let it show. There was something about this girl, some vibe that she gave off that made him not want to hurt her feelings. She seemed sort of...sensitive? That wasn't quite right, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Hmm, what say we go punch some walls?"

Punching walls wasn't exactly his thing, but he thought she wanted him to say yes, so he shrugged. "Okay, sure." That was about the most enthusiasm he could muster. And it wasn't a half-bad attempt, either.

Andrew followed her, but at a slower pace than she had taken. Watching as she threw a punch at the pole and obviously hurt her hand, he crossed the last few steps over to her.

"Are you okay?" He asked, concerned, but not overly concerned. It wasn't like she was bleeding or had anything sticking out of her limbs that should have been or anything of the sort. But who knew? She might have broken something. Doubtful, but she might have.

"Well, it's your turn."

He raised an eyebrow. "I'm not sure I want to," he said, not caring if he looked like a panzy or not. He curled his fingers into a fist and punched it, though not as hard as she had. Then he stepped back and shook his hand once. "Your turn?"
