Cast Over the Side

Solace stood, her lone figure painted against a canvas of red and orange hues. The sun was setting behind her and strange shadows were cast against the ground, reaching beyond the edge of the cliff. Dressed in a light colored sun dress, the cold breeze left goosebumps all along her arms and the back of her neck. Her legs, thin yet muscular, were intertwined to save heat and energy. Her black curls, which had been loosely tied in a bun, now loosely lay around her shoulders. Argentum, the silvery snake that was constantly wrapped around her shoulders was now missing. Only he and Solace know where he's gone — which happens to be off searching for food.

Heaving a deep sigh that wracked her whole frame, she sat down on the minimal amout of grass and wrapped her thin light-colored arms around her knees. Humming a small ditty she swayed from side to side, old memories of home and her mother passing before her eyes.
