Switching off the main sign of the shop, Monday locked the front door and started cleaning up the store, dusting shelves and counting the cash and sales for the say. He had stayed open later than usual that weekend simply because there were quite a few customers that needed or wanted certain items for Carpe Noctem like vintage scarves, picture frames, lockets, pocket watches or other items that were or could be replacements for personal items of loved ones that were deceased.
"Come on Garry. Let's see if Candle has a peanut or two for you before we put you to bed for the evening," Monday said as he gently coaxed the sleepy parrot off his perch by the front of the antique shop and onto his shoulder so the witch could take him upstairs for the night.
"Garry like peanut," the blue macaw agreed as he inched his way steadily up Monday's arm before settling on his shoulder. "Gany?" the bird piped up curiously as Monday carried him upstairs to their living quarters.
"Ganymede is out. He will be home later," he told Garry as he scritched him gently under a wing as the bird played with his beard.
