The reunion had caused unexpected, and unwanted, emotions, and in the next days the pixie like female had seem to become more withdrawn than usual. She only left her dorm when in the company of Ren, in the wee hours of the morning, or the pitch black hours of night. Classes were another exception to her refuge in her four walls, she simply entered at the last second, was the first to leave, and spoke not a word during. It would take a while yet for her to become indifferent once more, for she was still rebuilding the walls that had been broken at the sight of an older man and a younger man standing side by side, identical golden eyes showering her with love.

Now was one of the rare breaks from her room, and since it was a weekend morning before the sun had even come up, the sixteen year old hadn't seen the need to seek the company of her 'brother'. She stood in view of the barn, but far enough away that if an early morning rider happened to stop by, she wouldn't be bothered. Pix stood against a wooden fence, gaze directed through her camera into the paddock of horses. Despite the early hour, they were already prancing about, icy snorts visible in the air. The short human was bundled against the cold herself, thermal underwear under a pair of faded jeans, black boots, dark blue sweat shirt, and black vest. Her loose hair acted as ear muffs, her goggles simply rested above her forehead, and a cream colored scarf was wrapped around her neck. As always her hands were gloved, a black covered finger pressing down to shoot a frame of a paint mare rearing.

Mez happened to have a urge to go for a walk, but of course his usually walks ended up going random places. Today's random place happened to be the stables, he walked up the snow covered path headed towards the stables when he unknowingly stepped on a patch of black ice which sent him sliding down the path and past the barn towards the girl taking the picture of the horses. He managed to shift his direction to another way so he didn't mess up her picture. But he did accidently just after the picture was taken hit the fence head on.

He rubbed his head, he seemed to always get more clumsy. He got up leaned on the fence he rubbed his head wincing since he got a cut on his forehead it bled lightly. He winced again, the horses looked at him with a kinda 'what in the world' kinda face. They then seemed to laugh at him with their horsely noises. "Ouch" He said, it was long after it happened, kinda like a very longly delayed reaction.

He looked at the girl, "Did you get the shot?" He asked more concerned about the picture then himself. He was a oddity alright.

The force of his impact jarred the fence, and in turn Pix, just as she'd been about to take another shot. The last minute jerk would no doubt make the image blurry when it developed, but she was aiming for a moment of peace and perhaps the fuzzy figures would make the picture more interesting in the long run. Lowering the camera to her side, she replaced th lens cap and looked to the one against the fence with a quirked brow.

"More or less, and your bleeding," it didn't sound as if she particularly cared, but at least she hadn't said anything about his delayed reaction. The fact that he'd asked after whether or not she got the shot saved him from such a comment.

"I know..." He said putting his hand to his cut, it didn't look so good but at least she got her picture. The horses went back to their normal horsely actions, Mez smiled getting up. "Glad you'll get a shot, sorry about that. I really wasn't trying to wreck the picture or anything." He said looking at her a apoligetic look on his face. He had a nice cut on his forehead from impact. His head hurt a lot, he wondered what was going through the girl's head at the moment.

He rubbed his head his eyes sparkled slightly in a non-hypnotic way. He grinned sheepishly, "Um... Why are you up so early?"

"I didn't think you were," she responded, her accented voice clipped. Her eyes weren't on his, they were on the cut, and for a moment it seemed as if she may not even respond to his question.

"I prefer being out when no one else is," she finally said, tone indifferent as she looked from his forehead, to the paddock.
"Cuts get infected easily," Pix added on while looking away, her eyes drawn to the mare that she'd caught rearing before. Watching the multi-colored female almost made smile, her lips even twitched slightly, but she managed to stop herself at the last second.

"I prefer being out when no one else is,"

"Oh... I see, I'm Mez you are?" He asked trying to be friendly even though she seemed a bit annoyed in his eyes. He wanted to befriend this girl, he wasn't the type that went around doing nothing or only befriended certain types of people. He felt this girl needed a friend.

"Cuts get infected easily,"

He watched her look at a mare, she seemed like she was going to smile but stopped. This made Mez curious as to why she didn't want to smile, he hated to see people unhappy. "Yeah... That they do, I don't worry about such things though. Such a beautiful mare that is, she the one you were taking the picture of?"

"Pix, and yes she's the one," she responded simply as, it was fastly becoming apparent, was her way. Pix fixed her blue-eyed gaze on him once again, a black brow quirked in question.

"Why wouldn't you worry about such things, infections can be fatal," it seemed silly to her to not care about such things. Unless he had some underlying depression, which seemed highly unlikely. She began to study him, just in case.

"Pix, and yes she's the one,"

He smiled, "Pix is a nice name... So you do much horseback riding?" He liked horses, he didn't like cruelity to animals though especially use of whips on animals. He remembered a old saying about how a shephard would break a lamb's leg if it kept wondering away from the flock. Many thought it cruel, but it was so the lamb wouldn't be caught instead by a wolf or lion. Though the idea of hurting a lamb seemed a bit hard, especially to that extent.

"Why wouldn't you worry about such things, infections can be fatal,"

"Meh, but I'm young I'll fight it. Besides I don't carry a bottle of disinfectant around it'd be a bit odd. And I have accidents just about all the time." He said with a chuckle. "So I'd have to take stock in a company to be able to clean all my cuts."

He looked at her wondering why she hadn't really laughed or smiled. He was a bit worried about this girl, he was a rather cheery fellow and hated to see other people down. He looked at her hoping that she had gone horseback riding before so that maybe they could go again to kinda cheer her up.

"I used to," she completely ignored his comment about her name, she hadn't chosen it after all. And she had ridden when she was much younger, she actually hadn't ridden in six years and truth be told, she missed it. When he continued speaking, Pix opened her vest reaching into an inside pocket, when her hand withdrew it was apparent that there was tissue in it. Wordlessly she held out the tissue so that he could at least wipe away the blood, buttoning her vest with her unoccupied hand as she waited for him to take it.

"I used to,"

"Want to?" He said to her friendly like, he didn't know if she stopped for a reason. He only knew that it was fun and she seemed to lack fun. Unless he invited her to go to the circus like he did with other fun lacking people. But he felt it would be no fun going to the same place yet again.

He smiled at her offered tissue, he took it. "Thank you." He brought it to his brow and dapped it lightly wincing at how it smarted him. The blood slowly was gone but it still hurted pretty bad. But he payed it no mind.
