Name: Candy Whitson
Age: 39, but physically and mentally 20
Birthday: July 9th, 1978
Gender: Female
Species: Living Doll
Category: Student
Class: College
Grade: Sophmore

Appearance Description:
Upon first glance, she looks like a normal teenage girl, there's nothing to odd about the way her plastic body is proportioned nor does her skin look fake from afar. Closer up, it becomes more obvious that she is nowhere close to human. Her sun kissed skin has the same sheen that all plastic dolls have and is free of any blemishes, even pores. She has aquamarine eyes with doll-like eyelashes that curl upward. Her features are youthful, even for a sixteen year old; a distinct heart shaped face, rosy squishable looking cheeks and a button nose. Candy ‘wears’ makeup everyday because it has been perminately painted on her face.

The color of her hair is strawberry blonde with a few clashing streaks of turquoise. Her hair is synthetic, meaning that it behaves slightly different from regular hair. Fortunately, it is almost as heat resistant as regular hair, but instead of getting fried when too much heat is applied it clomps together. Unless she’s in extreme heat, her hair is typically unaffected by her surroundings. Because of the way her hair is perminately parted to be in twin drills, she cannot wear her hair any other way besides twin tails and possibly buns. She does have the option to change her hairstyle, length, and color, but it would involve rerooting her hair which is a lengthy and tedious process. On a brighter note, her hair is in perfect twin drills 24/7, it does not frizz nor get messy like normal hair would and seemingly defies the laws of physics.

Candy has a huggable looking figure despite actually being rock solid. Unlike most barbie dolls, her proportions aren’t unrealistic nor does she look emancipated, she looks like any other teenage girl, but a teeny bit on the petite side. Standing at a solid at a solid 5’4, her ‘c-cup’ breast look proportionate to her body and her hips have filled out a bit. The only thing different about her body is the fact that it’s not made up of flesh, but instead plastic, along with her ball joints that allow her to move.

Before going to Starlight Academy, she read through the student handbook’s uniform section fifteen times just to find as many loopholes in the uniform policy possible to properly express herself. Candy almost never wears the same exact outfit twice even with a uniform thanks to the power of uniforms. She wears the academy's jumper most days, but has added her own flair by adding a fluffy light pink petticoat underneath. The buttons of her jumper are modified so that colorful wrapping paper can be jammed underneath to imitate candy. A strand of colorful beads wrapped around her waist twice is held up by a bow pin for easy access to plastic; a shorter strand of beads is wrapped around her collar and tie for the same purpose. Her tie is embellished with a smiley face pin.

Outside of school, her style is a bit more bold without the boundaries of a dress code and more time to get ready in the morning. If there is one word to describe her style it would be playful, style would likely be categorized as Fairy Kei, as she is both fond of 80’s fashion, 90’s pop culture mixed in with more modern.

Personality Description:
Talkative: After not being able to say or do anything for decades, Candy has a lot of catching up to do. God help the poor souls who to start a conversation with her because it could last for decades. On another note, she has trouble sharing the spotlight and letting other people talk, often interrupting conversations and ignoring those who interrupt her.
Optimistic: For someone who had already died once, she sure has a positive outlook on life. Like anyone else, there are things that she wants to change, frustrations, and times of sadness, but she appreciates the fact that she is still ‘alive’ and able to carry on with fulfilling her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
Creative: Candy takes full advantage of a power that allows her to create *almost* anything she wants …. as long as it also happens to be plastic. She takes a rather unconventional approach to problem solving , whether its the better approach is debatable. Her judgement is slightly skewed, she prefers the most creative and fun solution over something practical. While her mindset may lead to some negative consequences, it is also the reason behind her outlandish outfits.
Cheerful: A beaming smile seemed to have had made it’s home on her face. Rarely is she seen looking glum, there’s always one good reason for Candy to be happy everyday. She likes to spread her cheer around the school, it’s almost like her happiness is contagious.
Spontaneous: Candy is unpredictable and impulsive, an atomic bomb that if touched the wrong way just might explode. She’s the type of person does whatever they want whenever they want, often casting the wellbeing of others for the sake of having a good story to tell afterwords.
Sweet: There’s a good reason why her name’s Candy, its almost sickening how kind she can be at times. She is the human equivalent of a golden retriever, she would do anything for her friends.
Absent minded: Outside of sculpting and fashion design classes, her grades slip. Her mind is crowded with opinions, feelings and ideas for accessories when it should be focused on physics. The way that it switches subjects so quickly is beyond her control, while her ability to go from one topic to another seamlessly may make her an excellent conversationalist, it makes it hard to focus on just one thing for more than a minute.
a ditz countless times
No filter: She says whatever comes to her mind with little to no exceptions. This makes her profoundly offensive, entertaining, and obviously rather talkative. Because she is so used to rambling, it takes more than just a few sentences for her to successful convey a point or persuade someone
Quirky: She marches to the beat of her own drum, even when it’s horribly off tempo. There most definitely is a few screws loose in her head, she has a warped view of how the world works because of her rose colored glasses.

Powers: Two overall powers are allowed. These are abilities that are unique to your character. Be sure to include what it is, what it does, and strengths and weaknesses. If you'd like more than two powers, please contact the staff. Both can branch off to up to five distinct abilities.
Plastic Manipulation: Candy can move, shape, and manipulate most plastics with her mind. As of right now she can create basic shapes and objects using her mind along with being able to mold plastic with only her hands into more ornate objects.

Limitations
~ She is unable to generate plastic, there has to be plastic that is already in existence in order for her to manipulate it, this is why she has several strands of plastic beads with her at all times.
~ Larger masses are harder for her to manipulate than smaller masses. While she could shape a pencil sharpener into a heart in less than twenty seconds, manipulating a (plastic) chair to form the same shape would take several minutes. She also cannot work with plastic if it has melted or is melting, the hotter it is, the harder it is to control.

Super Sculpture: Candy's sculpting abilities are so exceptional that it is considered supernatural due to the speed and accuracy she possesses while trying to replicate or create something.

Species Abilities:
No Ordinary Doll: Despite the belief that dolls are fragile and easy to shatter, Candy is more durable than most humans. The combination of being made of plastic rather than porcelain and the ability to manipulate her own skin means that even if she gets scratched, she can easily fix herself up again.

Body Dismemberment: Unlike humans, her body is made up of parts that can be taken on and off off without any pain or consequence.

Plastic Organs: Candy is still able to feel texture, but has lost the ability to feel pain or discomfort. While it may occasionally be beneficial in a fight, it hinders her body from alerting her when she is in danger, which is rare considering her regeneration abilities, but around fire or heat, it could be lethal. Because she is a doll, she is unable to smell or taste anything either, meaning that if she is around fire, she can only rely on trusting others to tell her when it is getting too hot or seeing herself literally melting or the source of heat itself (fire for example). She also does not need to eat or drink, but still needs to sleep.

Heat weakness: Plastic melts and warps around heat, Candy is no exception to this considering that the majority of her is made up of plastic. “Hot” weather is usually not too much of an issue for her as long as it is not past 95 or if she is spending more than three hours out in the sun. However, being around an open flame will cause her to slowly start melting, which becomes problematic if she is not able to find out the source quick enough. She can repair herself fairly quickly as long as it is a small portion of her body such as a finger, usually taking up to half an hour. The more of her body that is melted, the more To regenerate, she has to sculpt herself, so if more than one arm is melted, she is screwed.

Elements Vs. Joints: Unlike the rest of her body, dirt, sand and anything else that can lodge its way into crevasses can get stuck inside her joints hindering her ability to move. While her body takes several hours to get all the matter out, it slows her down tremendously.

Biography:
In the summer of 1978 a glorious event happened in the Whitson household, a baby girl born. After years of boys dominating the household and partaking in stereotypical sports of that time, there was finally a girl to dress up and teach the family trade. They named her Candy, short for Candace because she had the sweetest smile. Candy suffered from lone princess syndrome, her parents babied her, bought her girly toys, and let her dress up in princess costumes. Thanks to her dad’s business, a large toy company with a surplus of girly toys that were unsellable for one reason or another, they had an unusual amount of toys for kids their ages. It was decided that Candy would take over the doll branch of the business at a very young age, she learned all about how dolls were made from the rooting of hair to the molding of the face.

She was pretty popular at school for being the toymaker’s daughter, people would let her yap her head off if it meant that they could get the newest model of an action figure at their birthday party. Because of this, her social skills were lacking, she was encouraged to talk without interruption on the playground. Her popularity carried onto middle school where she was taken under the popular eighth grader’s wing was taught better social skills along with shallow ideology. She was never necessarily mean to anyone, but she never stood up for any of the victims of her clique, one of which happened to be an actual witch. As she moved forward to high school, she was the second in command to a clique and chimed in occasionally whenever it was time to harass an outcast,
Candy’s nickname was ‘barbie’ at her school thanks to her blond hair, blue eyes, and tan skin along with her family running a toy business. She was perfect in almost everyone’s eyes until she started talking, people weren’t as appreciative of her interest compared to her looks. Candy took great interest in chemistry and playing around with plastic, hoping to incorporate it into her dolls once that branch of the company was hers along with learning how to sculpt. Of course, she had her own problems as well, secretly wishing to be seen as more than just a toy, but struggling with her weight at the same time. She developed an eating disorder her Sophomore year that was covered up with a smile.

Meanwhile, one of her victims was fed up with her and her clique, a mixture of hatred and envy. This person also happened to be a witch plotting against her. On the day that this person walked in the bathroom on Candy throwing up, she broke down and explained it all. They claimed to be able to fix her problems, Candy believed them. However, this person was not as merciful or kind as she thought, that night her skin grew hard and developed a plastic sheen while her joints morphed into ball joints. When she woke up, barbie was more than just a nickname, it was now her lifestyle.

She was refused entry back into the school, they thought her parents had created a life sized doll as a coping mechanism for losing their daughter. A memorial at her school was even thrown, but no one cried. The first ten years were spent with her parents trying to find a cure while still being underneath the radar. To earn extra money she would pretend to be an animatronic at children’s birthday parties and she flew all over the world as a carry on bag. Unfortunately, her parents were pushing their seventies and lead an unhealthy lives that eventually lead to them dying younger than most people and only two weeks apart. It was traumatizing to have to bury both of her parent’s graves at sixteen along with seeing high school friends age while she would forever be a teenager.

Because there was truly nowhere she could go and be seen as a human, she decided stick to pretending to be a doll and was under a local pizzeria/kid’s birthday party place. When not on the stage talking or serving food, she was discovering a new power, plastic manipulation. Everything clicked when she realized that she could manipulate plastic, especially how she was able to move and still have facial expressions. She spent the next fifteen years mastering this power along with being silly for kids, it got lonely at times, but it was the only place she could call home.

That was until a Starlight Academy scout found out about her whereabouts and told her about the island where even living dolls were normal, since then she has moved to the Academy and doesn't plan on looking back.
