Candy and Costumes

Nyota blinked, then shook her head and sighed.

"Jeez... and I thought I had a lousy childhood." said Nyota with frown on her face "Whatever, I guess that makes me the expert out of the two of us."

Nyota returned Jame's smile with a smirk of her own.

"Yeah yeah, sure thing. Someone has to show you the ropes. Now witness me."

Nyota jogged her way to the building she mentioned was passing out candy and unraveled her black plastic black with some difficulty with one hand. She knocked on the door and motioned James to come up next to her with a roll of her head. Seconds later a woman with rabbit ears opened the door with a bowl of candy.

"TRICK OR TREAT!" exclaimed Nyota as she holds out her plastic bag to the lady.

"Hiii there~ I like your costume! And you have lovely eyes deary~" said the rabbit eared woman as she grabbed a handful of candy and dumped it into Nyota's bag.

"There you go, now don't eat that all in one sitting now! And... err"

The lady was at a loss of words when she looked at James.

"and... you look great too! Now here is your candy sweetheart!~" smiled the rabbit lady as she offers a handful of candy for James to take.

"Hrmph... you don't look much like a Kirk though... sure you both share the same first name if anything you should go consider going out as Spock next year. You kinda look more like a Spock than a Kirk. " Remarked Nyota at James's suggestion of his costume idea for next Halloween.

"And I like the sound of that plan. Alright, lets visit a couple of more places, fill up on candy, and get ourselves a a taxi back to school. I don't even care if the night ends with me getting diabetes, I am going to eat all the candy and spluge on the original Star Trek for... I dunno... the 100th time? Well whatever... lets start with that building over there! They look loaded!" said Nyota as she skipped-walked to her destination and left James to trail behind her.

—- TIME SKIP —-

"SCORE! That last place was giving out fucking candy bars by the handful!" exclaimed the excited starry-eyed girl as she struggled to show off the horde of candy she accumulated inside her plastic trash bag with her one arm.

Once James had a moment to peer inside her bag of goodies, she hulled the candy-laden bag over her shoulder and as she ambled her way through the dimly lit streets.

"Shit... this thing is getting heavy... should we call it a night now? I dunno if I am even going to be able to eat all of this candy tonight."

"Ehhh... sure thing geekboy. Whats not to love about demanding candy from strangers in the middle of the night in some cheap costumes."

Nyota blinked, she and James talked about his but... did not ever actually remember James actually confirming those plans. She honestly thought nothing have come of it... just one of those ideal thoughts you just say to pass the time.

"Whoa whoa whoa... wait. You serious? You mean... we can actually go up there? Geez... I... dunno what to say... ummm... thanks?"

Nyota was at a real lose for words. Sure Nyota could have done it one her own but... in all honesty she probably would not have bothered to checked as space was where all the smart people go... and she was not smart.

"I could almost give you a hug right now but... I gotta handful already so...yeah... thanks again." Spoke Nyota, holding up her heavy bag of candy before she lowered it down by her hip once more.

"Anyway... we were looking for a cab.. yes?" asked Nyota as she looked out to the city streets, her eyes seaching for taxi to take them back to school.

"Yeah... no... I trust you but I am not putting my faith into that shadowy thing your harboring. I'll just call us a cab." grimaced Nyota as she dropped her bag of loot and pulled out her smartphone.

"Oh good, I have signal. Let me look up a taxi service... err... why don't you figure out where we are? Like... look for street signs or something. We are going to need a give them a location of some kind." ordered Nyota as she waited for her phone to slowly bring up the search results for the closest taxi.

"Besides, do you really want to carry my fat ass all the way to school and the candy to boot?" she commented as she still waited for the search results to pop up on her phone.

"So your saying that I look anorexic then? Real smooth dork" lulled Nyoted as she rolled her shining eyes.

James more or less walked himself into that one but she couldn't help but poke fun at her friend even if it was at his expense. Whatever, she was amused.

"Anyway, said you don't know the name of street? Shit... well... you go ask someone real quick while I get ready to make a phone call will you? The page finally loaded." ordered Nyota, who hadn't so much as given James a glance as her eyes where glued onto the phone.
