Ildefons wanted to say he was going to strangle Rhymien for getting him into this mess but he knew for himself he wouldn't. This was going to happen anytime but he just kept buying himself as much time as he could. The original plan was to never talk about it at all considering ~family traditions~ and all that. Well, second to the fact that his history with Rhymien is anything but straightforward and honest. Trying to explain it wasn't anything was ready for -- and honestly, even given the opportunity he was going to leave a few blanks in the story.
If it wasn't on a school day, he was probably going to get roasted that morning. He had enough time to collect himself at least but if he could, he was just going to try and avoid Aricia. He considered sneaking back in when he returned home but that was going to be strange so he just hoped not to run into her today. It could be a discussion for another day, he told himself earlier.
By the time the day was almost over, it almost already slipped out of his mind. Ildefons ran a hand through his hair, making sure it stayed out of his face; breathing in deep, he schooled his expression to a sense of calm just out of habit. He was a second too late to remember he was trying to avoid someone. As soon as he swung the door open, the realization set in and before he could react, his eyes had already locked with Aricia's, standing there at the foyer. He cussed under his breath, berating himself in his thoughts for forgetting. He pulled a polite smile, feigning innocence for a moment, "Are you waiting for someone?"
