"Unfortunately it will be far more difficult to obtain evidence from them now but I understand the concern. I would ask you, Mr. Popov to not address the crowd like you were just doing any more tonight. I share your anger and disgust with this kind of activity but a riot is not going to help anyone rest safely tonight." She replied to Pietro as he joined them in his own spectacular fashion and then returned her focus to Natasha.

"I'm going to have a number of questions but first and foremost are you, or are any of the others, injured? Before we do anything else I'd like to see to that. It would also probably be better if we could get everyone to return inside where it's safe. Just in case."

Methodical and effective. That was what would be needed. Safety of the victims first, then obtaining the known details, then statements and photos and evidence collection. She intended to give the detectives as much info to work with as she could.

Natasha was relieved when Pietro reappeared at her side, more than she'd have ever thought she would be.

"I think everyone is okay..." Natasha replied hesitantly, glancing back at the crowd for a second, unsure of whether or not this was true. "I-I'd need to check inside. Some were trapped or too afraid to leave the center," she explained.

"Yes, of course," Natasha said, more than willing to comply when the young woman suggested they go inside.

"Could you tell that group over there that it's safe to come inside," she asked Pietro, not sure she could deal with everyone herself. "Please?" she added softly.

Natasha then walked over to where Rosemary and the other group of vampires and feeders were huddled together, murmuring among themselves as they waited.

"Let's go inside," Natasha suggested as she herded everyone like a mother hen towards the center. "It's safer inside, and I think we could all use a drink and some time to decompress," she said as she led everyone inside and then set about to giving people small orders such as handing out blood or beverages and making sure everyone was okay.

"Rosemary, make sure nobody sweeps up the glass yet, please," Natasha said, blanching visibly at all the beautiful stain windows that had been broken.

"My apologies, Officer Vaughan. I agree with you; I will not tolerate any rioting. But I also know that what these people want is for us to cower at their pathetic displays."

Looking out at the growing crowd, Pietro lifted his hand above his head and gestured for some kind of quiet. Most of the vampires in the crowd, compelled in part by his natural air of vampiric superiority, quieted down.

"All present, please enter the building in an orderly fashion. Follow the orders of the police to the best of your ability. And above all, remember: we are not animals. I know you are angry, as angry as I am. But let that anger turn to constructive efforts."

Turning back to Aria, he gave her a serious look, his jaw set angrily despite himself. "I understand your concern, but my point is never to cause a riot. I will be checking the door, and regardless of what you might think about it I will be keeping humans in th foyer. Both because frankly I don't trust that the perpetrators have actually left and also because as you said. Tensions are high and there are many thirsty blood drinkers here."

Officer Vaughan decided to leave the argument about what the goal of this kind of attack could have been for later. Provoking a response was just as likely a goal as seeking to cow them.

But that would be insensitive and delay things further.

"For safety's sake I think that's reasonable, but I would ask that you not start jumping to conclusions. We dont know the details yet." She replied and nodded for him to do what he needed to. Then turned back to Natasha as they entered the building.

"Were you present here when the incident occurred ma'am? I'd like to get a rough timeline and description of what happened to start off with. Did anyone see anything or anyone unusual around the building?"

"No," Natasha shook her head at Aria's question. "I'm afraid I was at home when it all happened," she explained, feeling slightly guilty now and wondering if she had been at the MCSS this evening if this would have happened.

"My assistant Rosemary called me to let me know about the attac-, I mean, vandalism," she explained uneasily as she nodded toward a young vampire who was handing out refreshments to those who wanted or needed it.

Aria began taking notes as they spoke. "That's ok, what time did you leave earlier and when did you get the call? I will need to speak with your assistant and anyone else who might have seen anything."

She glanced around the room at the various people kn different states of shock and distress. "Also as much as I hate to mention it, we'll need to check to see if anyone left around the time of the incident. To be thorough of course."

Her radio crackled to life and she stepped away to give Natasha a moment to get her assistant while she advised dispatch and her coworkers of the status of the scene. More officers were arriving to secure the actual crime scene and continue to canvas the area for anyone suspicious.

"I'd say I left after six, maybe closer to seven," Natasha said as she tried to recall what time she had left the MCSS that evening. "And it had to be closer to midnight, maybe shortly after when I got the phone call from my assistant."

"And of course, whatever you need. You have our full co-operation," Natasha said as she excused herself, first to talk to Rosemary, and secondly to retrieve the staff and visitor logs from reception.

"Here are the daily logs," Natasha said as she reappeared with Rosemary at her side.

Aria noted down the times and began a cursory check of the logs. "I'll need contact information for you Ms. Lockwood so the detectives can follow up with you. And your information as well Ms... Rosemary? I know this whole thing is very upsetting but if I could get any details from you about what happened that would be great. Even just where you and others were when it happened, what you heard, thow long it was before you called Ms. Lockwood, things like that." She smiled reassuringly and kept her tone of voice soft but authoritative..

"Also, Ms. Lockwood do you have cameras on the outside of the building that might have caught the incident?"

"Oh, my... yes... yes, we do have cameras at the front, and one in the back," Natasha stated, relieved at being reminded of something so important. "If you'll excuse me," she said to Aria and Rosemary as she hurried downstairs to the room where the camera controls were located.

Watching Ms. Lockwood for a second, Rosemary, who was still visibly upset, began answering the questions directed at her.

"It's Rosemary Cook," she began quietly as she looked down at her hands for a moment. "And I was on my break... I needed to go to the blood bank for some packs to take home," she explained.

"When I left the MCSS, there were some teens hanging out front, skateboarding and stuff," she elaborated, remembering that she had greeted them with a wave.

"When I came back...I heard loud shouting, then, like a loud breaking noise, and ... the crosses everywhere," she shivered. "After that, I called Ms Lockwood."

Aria nodded as Natasha hurried off to check on the cameras, mentally checking that question off the list.

"That's very helpful Ms. Cook. You're doing well. These teens, are they usually around this area that time of night or would that be unusual? Did you see anyone leaving when you returned?"

She scratched a few more notes into her notebook and took another casual glance around the room. Making sure there weren't any 'hot spots' as they liked to call them. Individuals or groups showing particularly high amounts of distress or anger.

"Has there been any mail or other signs someone was unhappy with the group? Anyone who might have a grudge against you all?"
