I'm not sure I want this right away, but I figured I'd post this now so that I can build up to his major plot points concerning this advancement. I want him to figure out how to stimulate the pleasure center of his brain and basically abandon everything else just to experience that pleasure. Unfortunately there's a barrier to this.
One of Caleb's biggest issues is that he broke some of the auto part of his autonomic nervous system. That is to say he can't breathe without thinking about it and has to sleep with a special ventilator so he doesn't just stop breathing while unconscious. I figure if I don't fix this issue, he would probably just forget about breathing and subsequently just die. I want to have him figure out how to turn the auto part back on.
In cannon, Caleb desperately wants to be able to live a normal life and complete a whole thought without getting lightheaded because he forgot to breathe, or sleep without performing the difficult task of jamming a tube down his throat. (specialized for his use though that tube may be) He is committed to the dangerous task of messing with his brain
Out of cannon, I want to mess him up.
To be clear, I want Caleb to gain the knowledge and control to influence specific parts of his brain. This can more or less be broken down into 3 separate parts.
1.) Improve his control of sensory nerves to re-purpose and expand his senses, allowing for a more in-depth understanding of his own body on a cellular level. (in pursuit of breathing and trying to make it safer to try)
2.) Understand the function and inner workings of the Medulla and be able to repair his breathing. (desperate to pull this off despite the dangers of messing with his brain)
3.) identify the nerves that create dopamine and stimulate them to flood his body with pleasure. (incidental as he fixes the breathing problem)
I think that's everything. If this isn't okay, I can change things, I just want this to work out because it's pretty important for the story I have planned out.
Also, sorry if I didn't do this right.
Also Also, I'm not sure how exactly power training posts work. I just find someone to rp with while specifically working on this power? though all I can think of for that is like, a tutor in brain chemistry... and that sounds like an awful thread.

Powers: Autonomic Control: Complete control of his bodies normally involuntary actions and responses.
Drawbacks: This ability requires careful control and expansive knowledge. Without proper care, a mistake manipulating the brain or nervous system could leave the user brain dead. A less serious error could leave the user with a lingering deformity until their control and knowledge grow to match what they were attempting.
Currently Caleb can use this power in the following ways:
Control of his sensory nervous system- Caleb can manipulate sensory nerves to gain better control of his own body, as well as receive more detailed information than a normal human.
Control of brain chemistry- Caleb can stimulate certain parts of his brain to release a variety of neurohormones such as dopamine, or GHRH.
System Overdrive- Caleb can put certain parts of his body into overdrive. With enough energy and material, this can accelerate healing ten fold or merely grow out his hair from a bad dye job, at a visible rate albeit. (this just summarized the previous Keratin Growth and Accelerated Healing, which sounded clumsy... But now although more succinct the lable sounds kind of mechanical...)
