The bonfire, though not that far away, seemed distant as Jacota and Ishvi walked along the shore, closer to the treeline that the water. Jacota liked silence, but he liked it even more when he was with Ishvi. It wasn't the kind of silence that let him listen for danger, but the kind that let him enjoy peace. Jacota didn't need to look at Ishvi to know he was there, their hands linked and both Jacota's nose and ears telling him of the other man's presence. Still Jacota kept glancing at Ishvi, wanting to see him and every glance brought butterflies in his stomach and joy in his heart.

But the two did keep on a conversation, and Ishvi asked Jacota about his past and told him about his own.
"I lived on the street. There were also rats, cats, other dogs and sometimes people that didn't smell human. Once or twice ones that smelled little like you, but not like me. Maybe they were angels."
Jacota squeezed Ishvi's hand back, when he spoke of demons, whined silently and briefly nuzzled his cheek against Ishvi's hair. A gesture Jacota had taken a liking to, as a dog he liked that his and Ishvi's scents mixed.

Jacota was still riding out how flustered he was about declaration when Ishvi blurted out they should dance. Jacota's mind blanked for a bit and he blinked at Ishvi, slight blush on his cheeks.
"Dance? That's where you get on the ground and spin and kick?"
Jacota knew very little of dancing and different kinds of dancing, all he knew was breakdance he had seen humans do on the street. Jacota looked down, sand was a bit hard to do all that on. But Ishvi kept talking, or more like mumbling, and Jacota listened with a slight head tilt. He leaned down from the waist a bit, trying to catch Ishvi's eyes.
"I don't want you to act like others, I want you to act like you."
Jacota said in a gentle matter-of-fact tone, and his tail wagged a bit.

The silence was nice, the walking clearing his head. And with Jacota there, even the water didn't seem so dangerous. Their hands together stopping Ishvi's thoughts from spiraling too much. It was good to have someone he trusted. Someone to talk to, who he was pretty sure wasn't going to judge his lack of conversation skills.

"On the street... you had to take care of yourself? I had a home at least. They kept me. I mean they didn't exile me for, for what I was. I'm glad you made it here." A frown briefly crossed his face at the thought the angels Jacota had seen were probably fallen. And he felt some guilt that he would make his own life sound hard, when it sounded like the weredog had been through worse. Ishvi squeezed Jacota's hand in return, trying not to blush when his hair was nuzzled. It struck him as cute, but he couldn't just say that.

When Jacota was confused about what kind of dancing he'd meant, he did blush a little. Suddenly a lot more embarrassed about having to explain what he'd meant, but also grinning slightly at Jacota's idea. "I mean if you wanted to spin around, you'd probably look- I - no that wasn't what I meant umm.." Ishvi kept looking at his shoes, biting at his lower lip trying to think of how to say it. "You hold each other and... you can spin but, but not on the ground. Um.. hmm.. it'd probably be easier if I could... show you... I mean I could find a video or or something... but we don't have to.."

He didn't know why his stomach was flipping or he was being so nervous. Maybe it was just because he'd never done anything like that before. Oddly he still didn't feel bad, just awkward, fluttery. "I just I want to be good for you."

"Yes, I was alone. It was...it was a hard life. Not much to eat, often too hot or too cold. Very different from this."
Jacota said and frowned as well. As long as he could remember he had lived in the streets. Or, well, he thought so. There were...images in his head. Of two people Jacota liked very much, of children, of laughter, of a deep forest and a white fence. But Jacota couldn't remember anything else. He had a feeling he did and didn't want to remember anything else. It felt dangerous. Jacota squeezed Ishvi's hand a bit harder.
"I'm glad I'm here too. I can eat a lot, no one throws rocks and I'm with you."

Jacota just looked at Ishvi with confusion and a tilted head, as he fumbled with his words trying to explain what kind of dancing he meant. There were other kinds of dancing? What kind of dancing? Holding Ishvi sounded nice, and Jacota's tail wagged a bit. But hold him how? Take him in his arms? Hug him?
The thought of hugging Ishvi made Jacota blush as well and he looked down at his shoes as well.
"I want to learn. I want to hold you and dance with you."
Jacota said bit shyly and looked at Ishvi. He stepped bit closer and took Ishvi's other free hand in his free hand, so he was holding both of Ishvi's hands in his.
"You are good for me, I want to be good for you too."
Jacota wasn't really sure, what that meant. Being good for someone. But he wanted it, and in his eyes Ishvi was good. Most good he knew.
