"Its been a long time since I released my energy in such. I used to be far more, and I quote, fiery in my displays and temperament. But being so angry all the time just tiring after the first couple of decades and turned it inward instead of outward." explained Candle as she lets out a gruff sigh. Its no lie to say that they had been fuming centuries over Grostman but at least they were finally able to channel it against something a bit tangible.

"As for Grostman, I can go on volumes about him. He was the Grandmaster of Hermetic Society of the Occult. It was society dedicated to understanding the pursuit of knowledge and its members little regarded taboo. Their work made them deemed heretical by the church of the day and him being his leader of such an organization should speak volumes of his character. If there are any details you wish to know of him just give the command.

Monday understood all too well the effects of anger and resentment. When the Endless Sea took both his mother and his sister within years of each other, Monday had been very angry and hurt, and if it hadn't been for the coven - well. he had no idea what he'd have done, but he doubted he´d be here today, living like he was at the moment.

Monday gestured for Candle to follow him back into the shop where he made himself a tea while they talked - asking also if Candle wanted anything. Then he sat down and listened to her talk.

"This Hermetic Society," Monday said as he wrote down the name in a notebook, "Can you tell me more about them? Like are they still active?" he asked thinking that the surest way to find more works related to Grostman was to find his order.

"As far as I come to understand, they are an ancient order that have always existed in some capacity since antiquity. They have been around many centuries before Grostman ever came to power." spoke Candle as they begin to recount the society as its shadowy origins.

"Not even its own members know who its founders were nor when and where it was founded and for what original purpose. Rumors have that some version of it existed in the cradle of human civilization itself but only firmly established itself sometime in the late roman era. By the time I was brought this world its members had largely been forced into hiding from prying eyes from the kings and the church. As they worked in secrecy they felt that laws of man, nature and even gods would not impede them from learning the ultimate truths. And in this pursuit for knowledge they allowed nothing to get in their way. But such a collection of bright yet ambitious minds became the breeding grounds paranoia and sabotage for while every man claimed to work for the ultimate truth, in the shadows they all seeked to further their usurp each others finding and further embolden their egos.

If such a group is still persists to this day, then they continue to hide away in shadow studying their dark arts and forbidden sciences as they always have."

Monday actually frowned and very deeply at this information. Groups like that were well-known to exist among those in the magical community, and while he had never heard of this society, it troubled him just the same. Obviously, they were dangerous - not only because of the things they were doing, but the sheer arrogance and disregard to nature and its law that they had.

"And do you know, is this Grostman still here on Manta Carlos?" Monday asked curiously, not knowing if he had fled the island or was still living here.

"No, he died a centuries ago. And, to clarify, he never set foot on this island. At least to my knowledge. After his quite death at the age of 108 years his apprentices were quick to divide up his possessions, myself among these spoils." answered Candle, whom then glaces at the book once again.

"Though Grostman never achieved immortality, his it would seem that at least some of his works survived. I can only imagine that some ancestor of those original apprentices had brought it here to this island whom not truely understood what they held, with memory of its connection to Grostman merely forgotten through the passages of time."

"Even worse in a way," Monday sighed. If everything Candle had told him was true that meant there were other books, manuscripts or lone pages with spells somewhere out there, and that meant, there were more chances of people using a spell and not knowing the dangers of it.

"I am going to guess that this Grostman was a prolific writer and chronicler, wasn't he?" Monday asked his assistant with a growing feeling of unease as a very clear sense of what he would have to do about this if this were true.

"That he was. He wrote many treaties of his findings. Considering his affiliations however, he was private man very discrete about sharing what he learned to anyone. Went to great lengths to making many of them indecipherable to his enemies as well as his peers. The contents of this book however, I recognize as being particularly elaborate even by his standards. But if your wondering if he has any other surviving works... its possible but rare. To the untrained eye they would seem like any old book collecting dust in some bookshelf." spoke Candle as she answered Monday's question.

The mention of other books attributed to Grostman made Candle ponder where else one of his books may have turned up. After Grostman's death much of his belongings it was divided up like spoils of water and scattered throughout the ages.

"Yes, improbable, but not entirely impossible either," he said with a deep thoughtful frown. If one book had already found its way to him like it had, that meant there were quite possibly other books and manuscripts out there somewhere. A thought that did not sit well with him. Even though Candle assured him the books were not easily decipherable, he himself had made out just enough to tell they were dark spells. And, if someone more versed than he was, spent time and research on finding out?? Who knew what could happen...?

"I am worried, Candle. I will be honest with you. I don't like knowing that books he wrote might be floating out there somewhere," Monday said, feeling that fidgeting coming on again... he usually could do tapping of feet or finger movements, but at the moment, he was feeling very agitated which sometimes exacerbated his reaction to his curses.

"I just keep seeing Ganymede getting his hands on one somehow, and knowing how curious he is..." here Monday let his words trail off.

Monday was worried, and rightfully so, about how dangerous this and Grostman's other books can be. Perhaps the most dangerous aspect of them is how little is known of what contents are exactly inside of the books. While they dismissed the concern for Monday as but part of her contracts that bind them to his service, the idea of Ganymede becoming somehow injured brought up some strange emotion within them. Distaste? Unpleasantness? They couldn't properly describe it, only knowing that the idea of Ganymede getting hurt didn't sit well with them.

"I can check the other books if they are perhaps authored by Grostman as well, should you so command. But I would not concern yourself too much. It would be very unlikely for Ganymede or anyone else to come upon one of Grostman's manuscripts. But if the thought disturbs you we can consult with public libraries to learn if other such books have become a part of their collections."

"I'd like to check around the libraries and the used book stores if you don't mind.. just to have some piece of mind," Monday confessed. He wasn't so sure about things as Candle was. Unfortunately, in his experience, if there was something bad lurking in the shadows - and it wasn't addressed or dealt with - if usually became worse somehow.
