Maki jogged out onto the rocky area of beach that Riley had suggested for them to use for the purpose of venting their collective angst. She rubbed her chin as she scanned over the place they had available, and after ensuring that they had proper privacy turned to flash Riley and Tadashi a toothy grin. "Well, alright! Riley picked a pretty nice spot, so let's do this shit."

The oni's eyes lit up when they settled on a medium sized boulder, navigating over another few clusters of rock formations before going up and running her hand over it. It was pretty impressively symmetrical, which for one reason or another really pissed Maki off. "I'll kick things off." She took a few steps back, taking a deep breath and then promptly aiming both hands at the rock, a jet of white flame erupting from them and focusing on one spot of the boulder until a decently sized hold had been melted through it.

Tadashi followed the others, not really sure what he was doing. Mostly he had just wanted to make sure Maki was ok, but he did have plenty of things he could vent about. The last time he had really truly vented though it took a wyvern paralyzing him to stop it. Maybe he could just try to keep it controlled.

"It is a really nice spot Riley. Thanks for showing us here," he said as he looked around at the rocks and sand. Not the water though. He still wasn't too fond of water, even if he had secretly been learning to swim here and there.

He felt silly as he tried to figure out what he was going to do. He wasn't a destructive person. He was the sleepy, worrying old man type. At least most of the time. However inspiration did strike him as he thought about all the drama lately. "Why can't people just be ok and not hurt all the time?" he grumbled and winged a rock at high speed right at a larger rock, breaking the smaller one apart on impact.

He blinked and looked guilty.

Riley liked these two so far. Tadashi with his high powered rock throwing, and Maki with her awesome firepower.

"Hey, don't mention it," she told them. "I really like watching people break stuff. And breaking stuff myself. That's sorta my thing, innit."

She had fun with her first blast. Falling into a martial arts stance she saw on TV, she did an elaborate series of arm movements, then she threw all her weight into a punch aimed at a rock that was larger than Riley herself. Her fist stopped a few inches away from the rock. She would then extend a finger, maintaining her stance with her punching arm extended, inching forward just a little bit until she could barely reach -

Bang!

The moment her poking finger made contact with the rock, a big chunk of that rock disintegrated into dust and pebble-sized rubble. Riley started giggling. She already felt a lot better.

Maki quirked a brow at Tadashi's rock lobbing, actually a bit impressed by that and grinning a little in response. "Huh, damn. And here I thought you looked super weak...I mean, no offense. I haven't really dealt too much with bakeneko before, so I don't really know too much about what you guys are capable of." Her reaction to Riley's utter disintegration of her rock was considerably more pronounced, however, and she actually clapped her scaly, clawed hands together at that. "Ha! That was so fucking sick, dude! I've never seen something just get turned to dust like that; you're really something else." The oni strode over to her to offer a fistbump of approval, her eyes gleaming a fiery gold due to her excitement.

After praising Riley, she headed on over to Tadashi and gave him a playful punch to the arm, tilting her head a little and picking up another rock. "Perk up, huh? You don't look excited at all. This is all about letting loose!" She grinned and took the rock in her hand, cocking her arm back and hurling it up over the water before conjuring up a fireball to lob after it, the two colliding in a small white flash, to her obvious glee.

Tadashi's guilty look shifted more toward sheepish. "I'm not that super strong. Maybe it was just a weak rock. I don't really try to break things usually." He felt a little bit like he wasn't sure he belonged there with Maki and Riley but he didn't want to leave either. Maybe he did secretly want to break things- wasn't that what happened whenever he lost control and acted on instinct anyway?

He giggled at Riley's crazy ninja moves and then flinched a little as the rock just, well, was exploded or something. He wasn't really scared or upset by it- it had just caught him off-guard a little even after the big show of the punch. "Wow, I see why you like destroying things. You're really good at it," he said to Riley.

At the playful jab to his arm Tadashi did smile a little, "sorry. It is kind of fun to throw rocks and stuff. I don't really have a lot of destructive stuff I can do. I could draw some moving targets but I don't think they will be as satisfying to destroy." In the back of his mind he knew he could do a lot in his half-cat form but he had no control over that form.

He watched as Maki blasted the flying rock and grinned at the other two before picking up a piece of driftwood and just bashing it over and over into a large rock until it was just splinters.

Riley just sat down in her newly minted pile of rocky rubble, enjoying the chaos, feeding off of it.

She tried not to think too hard about how she wouldn't be able to see her parents. She missed them, but the island didn't even want her visiting them in prison.

Well, now she was thinking about it.

She tried not to think about how much she wanted to burn this place down sometimes. Wipe it off the planet. Coming here had been the worst day of her life so far, and she still felt bitter about that.

Once again, trying not to think about it made her think about it. She picked up a few of the pebble-sized rock pieces and, one by one, held them in her fingers and blasted them into powder. pop! pop! pop!

Maki raised a brow at Tadashi at his comment that he couldn't do many destructive things, actually just letting loose a rough laugh at that and punching his arm again, just a smidge harder but still playful. "Dude, that's bullshit. You might think you can't do much, but there's always a way to break shit. It doesn't have to come from yourself, necessarily. I can teach you so much!" Flashing a fanged grin, she also shook her head when he mentioned making targets after a moment of pondering. "Actually, that's a good plan. We're eventually gonna run out of shit, and an accuracy challenge could be fun."

Teasing Tadashi for another few moments, Riley eventually caught her eye, the popping sounds drawing her attention. The oni rubbed her neck for a second before heading over, casually smacking a fireball into the large boulder she'd made a hole in with her palm and then just leaning there. "Hey, uh, you good Riley? You're kinda thousand yard staring a little bit. I mean, exaggeration, but yeah. You're kind of looking...sad."

Tadashi smiled despite himself as Maki encouraged him. Strictly speaking getting advice on how to break stuff better or more was probably not the most appropriate thing to be doing, but he didn't care. It had felt good to throw that rock and turn that wood into splinters. "Ok, that sounds good. You teach me to break stuff better and i'll draw targets for both of you when you want them." With that he picked up another small rock and hurled it as hard as he could towards the water.

As Maki stopped her teasing Tadashi also noticed Riley sitting in her little zone of rubble. The girl really didn't look happy at all. He joined the others and sat down near Riley, scooting a little bit of the rubble out of his way to give him a place to sit. "Can I draw something or someone to cheer you up? Or for you to throws rocks at or something?" Tadashi was decent at listening to people's problems but he wasn't really sure that Riley wanted to talk about them exactly.
