Armis liked to read, while his intelligence wasn't really enhanced he still ate information up quite readily. So like many days he was spending today in the library, flipping through books, seeing what he wanted to read next.

Socially he wasn't the worst off among his siblings, but he still had his struggles. Wanting to hurt everyone and everything to some extent made him worry about what would happen of he made friends.

As he looked through some shelves a book would slip from a higher one, falling it'd bounce off his head. He'd blinking in surprise, leaning over he'd pick it. Standing he'd tilt his head in surprise when he was faced with someone he didn't recognize.

"H-hello," he'd say to thr mysterious spider girl, giving a small wave, "am I in your way?" he'd ask, realizing she was likely looking through the books as well.

As Amber perused though the familiar aisles of booked shelved so neatly next to one another, there was a very unfamiliar person now standing in front of her. She stood by patiently as she waited for boy, with skin of gleaming metal, to pick out his books in peace. When one book landed on his head like a hammer striking a bell, Amber couldn't help but giggle even as she tried to contain it by covering her mouth. What a goofball she thought but it would have been rude of her to have said something so mean out loud so she kept her thoughts to herself.

"Hee hee... you kind of are but thats okey. I'm not in a hurry or anything." said Amber with a most sincere smile. Her eyes then look to the book still on the ground and bends down to pick it up for the boy "Oh let me get that for you."
As she hands him over the book she reads the title.

"Oh... Sir Gawain and the Green Knight ? I read this one before. Good choice. If you have love of knights and romantic chivalry, or just a fan of Arthurian legends, you will want to read this one." recommended Amber, hoping that she came off as at least helpful.

Armis tilted his head, looking at the girl curiously. She was arachnid, if he didn't know any better he might have mistaken her for a sibling. "Thank you," he'd say, accepting the book, he'd let out a little embarrassed chuckle, "I must have accidentally bumped the shelves, made it fall."

He'd nod, smiling a bit, "yes, I quite like books on knights," he'd even modeled himself after what he'd read on them. "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm still in your way," he'd step to the side, giving a small bow, "my mind slips sometimes when I'm wrapped up in the books here."

The young demon then remembered he'd failed to introduce himself, he'd mentally kick himself. "I'm Armis, I hope I haven't disturbed you to much."

"Oh its okey. I can get lost in these books myself. Sometimes looking for to help me learn... or just something to enjoy." she said in agreement, turning her head to look at the large expanse of books stacked neatly on one another. It would seem this second housed many of romantic tales of chivalry and knighthood by just looking over some of the titles. After her examination she looked back to Armis, wearing a smile as she introduces her self in turn.

"Amber Black." she said, thinking it was only fair that she give her name to him.

As she looks behind Armis, she could see the a small reading area seat aside for those seeking respite to enjoy their books in quite. Amber then looks back to Armis and speaks once more.

"Anyway, I am just going to see over there and read a few novels that I am currently invested in. If you like you can sit with me... once you pick your out whatever book you might be looking for. Anyway... I will just slip right past you-"

Amber then inhales as she tucks herself tightly to one side so that she can most past Armis. Considering her size though, 6 of her back legs walk along the bookcase as she pivots herself around Armis and even then she was so close she could practically breath on him. Once on the other side she lets out brief of relief as all her legs touch the ground.

"Phew. Well happy booking hunting~" chimed Amber, before retiring to the nearby tables to read the books she had tucked under her armpit.

"Yes, I will thank you Amber Black," remembering his favorite form of greeting he'd give her a bow before stepping aside to let her through. She reminded him of his beetle form, though of course not metalic, and probably less damaging to her surroundings.

Deciding to keep the book that'd hit his head he'd choose a few more and check them out before making his way to the reading area. A few of the other students gave him a glare, he recognized them from class, they weren't fond of him because of who his mother is.

He'd take a seat near Amber, offering her a smile as he flipped through his books. "What kind of books do you like to read Miss Black?" he'd ask, still ignoring the students who were not pleased with his presence.

Amber had her nose half buried in her book when the familiar voice piped up. The eyes on her forehead looked up to Armis now sitting close to her though her main two eyes remain glued on the pages. Maybe it was considered a bit rude to not give someone their full undivided attention but Amber was too committed in the chapter to dare think to put the book down. Besides, she could multitask and was sure that Armis wouldn't mind. While there where other giving Armis nasty and suspicious looks, Amber was none the wiser to their wary gazes. As far as she concerned it was just the two of them.

"Heh... well... just about anything with cover really. I like mystery, young adult, romance, science fiction... or in some cases science fact. Sometimes I just like to read my school textbooks inbetween periods just because they can be interesting in their own right. Hence why you can often just find me here just... reading during the break and such. Sometimes I would read together with a friend but..." Amber hides a frown behind the book she is reading "... your the first book buddy I had in awhile if I have to be honest."

He'd tilt his head, listening to her as she talked. "The first?" he'd hum in thought, "you're my first ever." It was true, he didn't have many friends, "I think reading is really fun and reading with others sounds fun."

"Do you think some of the fantasy novels are based on real things?" he'd ask with a chuckle, "I've heard some people call the academy the real Hogwarts."

The metal demon glanced down at his book, the one that'd landed on his head. "We could start reading together...meeting up here when we need new books," he'd suggest as he opened his book, starting in on the first chapter.

A pencil would then bounce off his head, thrown by one of the students. He'd ignore it, it wasn't like it hurt or anything, he had a high level of endurance.

"Wait really?" gasped Amber, perhaps a little too loudly for what was considered curtious for a library. But Amber was so surprised by Armis' admission that she couldn't help herself. In fact she even had to set the book down so that she could probably look at him with all of her undue attention.

"Well... a lot of what is myth and legend has some basis of truth. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if all the old stories where somehow secretly true. Who knows... maybe Hogwarts is real~" mused Amber, making sure to keep her voice quite in respect of the other library goers. Best to not draw the ire of librarians after all.

"Even if Hogwarts is but a popular book series geared for a younger audience such as you and I, at least Starlight comes pretty close. But... yeah I think I would like that. I mean... if your okey me rambling on about whatever book of the week I might be reading... ha ha... heh." chuckled Amber, feeling like a big dork but she was actually kind of happy and eager to maybe have a book buddy again!

When a pencil struck Armis in back of the head, Amber's eyes glared its initial trajectory: some kid standing by the aisle, Their eyes glanced away, as if pretending nothing happened and it was in that moment Amber knew that wasn't accident. Why someone wanted to be a jerk to Armis she could not fathom. Though internally she was fuming, on the outside she would seem calm and composed. Amber bends down to pluck up the pencil off the ground and marched straight over to the kid.

"Hey, you seemed to have flung your pencil on accident. You should be more careful in the future okey? We would not want someone to be accidentally hurt and have to get the librarians involved... okey?" said Amber in a cordial manner though her last few words came off somewhat as threat.

He'd nod and chuckle. "I'd like that," he'd say with a small grin, "we can hang out, chat about books and other things." He'd made a friend it seemed, something he hadn't expected, it was nice, being able to just have a pleasant chat.

In truth Armis wanted to harm the person who thrown the pencil. Already his mind was filling with potential ways to harm him, the numerous way a metalic demon could bring pain upon him. It was the part of him that he hated, that he felt ashamed of. So he ignored it.

Armis would tilt his head in surprise as Amber's words, no one besides the teachers had ever really defended. "I'm ok miss Black," he'd say, giving her a slightly embarrassed smile, something that was a rarity. "Luckily I'm pretty durable."

The student who'd thrown the pencil eyed them a moment before wandering off, not wanting to get in trouble.

Amber watched the kid until they slinked off and retreated further into the library. Once he was going Amber turned to Armis and offered a kind smile.

"Still, he shouldn't have done that regardless of how durable or fragile you are. Its all a matter or respecting your fellow peers. I mean... is it really THAT hard to act decent." grumbled Amber, while she knew that almost everyone here was of good character, there were always going to be a few jerks that just had to ruin things for everyone.

"Sorry that had to happen to you. You seem like a good person I dunno why anyone would do something like that to you."
