Shifting & Partial Shift: Buddy can shift into a wolf at will. As a wolf he is about the height of a brown bear and he has long, sharp claws and teeth that can shatter even stone. His physical abilities are elevated thanks to his demonic side.
Buddy can shift parts on his body into those of his wolf form. He can make his nails turn into long, sharp claws, make his teeth into those of a wolf and cover his body or parts of it aside from his face, palms and bottom of his feet in white fur.

Conditional Immortality: Buddy is immortal as long as his master is alive and there's an existing respawn point for him. If Buddy's master dies so does he. But if Buddy dies when his master is still alive he stays dead for a few days before reviving in a respawn point created by his master. If there is no respawn point Buddy stays dead until one is created. At the moment Buddy has three respawn points, and in case of his death he revives in the one his master is closest to at the moment of his respawn.

-Strength: Buddy is in peak human condition and in human form he can lift up to 1000kg and his max speed is around 45mph. In wolf form he has the same amount of strength but his max speed is elevated to 70mph.
-Resilience: Buddy is very good at staying alive and he has a body built for survival. His muscles are dense and thick and can even stop a bullet when tensed. Buddy instinctively knows how to stay alive due to his werewolf origins and can survive twice as long without food or water than a human.
-Heightened Senses: Buddy has the senses of a wolf in both human and wolf form.
-Regeneration: Buddy has minor regeneration abilities. Small wounds and injuries heal in 10 or so minutes and broken bones heal in a day or two. His body cannot regenerate severed limbs or mortal wounds.
Blood Contract: Buddy was turned demonic by a ritual and is now bound by a blood contract to one individual at a time. Along this contract come few abilities.
-Master Tracking: Buddy always knows where his current master is and his master knows where he is, no matter how far apart they are.
-Telepathic Link: Buddy's master can talk to him telepthically but he cannot talk back. Buddy cannot block this ability and it's range is 4 to 5 miles, depending on his and his master's mental state.
-Demonic Sensor: Buddy can sense demonic energy and he knows if someone is a demon or part demon or has some other demonic connection. The range of this sensor is 20ft.
-Body Link: Buddy's body is also linked to that of his master and whatever mortal wound or injury that might result in death his master suffers transfers to him. So if his master suffers a mortal wound it transfers to him and his master's life is spared. Only physical wounds transfer and the body link doesn't affect sicknesses or ailments caused by magic.

Buddy was born to a small pack of arctic werewolves in the Ellesmere island. They lived in an isolated village surrounded by nature. They were humble people who lived close to nature and had few modern commodities. Buddy lived the first 23 years of his life there, living a peaceful life without anything that eventful happening. Buddy has a big heart even then and was very well liked among his pack. Many people suspected he would be the next alpha.
But then one night, out of the blue, a group of hunters attacked their small village. They were a part of a coven of vampires that specialized in hunting werewolves and had been tracking and observing Buddy's pack for years now.
Many were killed, some escaped and few were captured. Buddy was among those who were captured when he was protecting other pack members.
Buddy and others who were captured were taken to the coven headquarters and tortured for information about other packs, about their brethren who had escaped and their possible hiding places. The torture was intense and the others captured perished after few months. But Buddy stayed alive, refusing to die in the hands of these murderers.
The leader of the vampire coven, Flavian, was impressed by Buddy's strength and resilience and wanted them for his own use. He forced Buddy under a contract by conducting a blood ritual that made Buddy part demon and his servant.
Buddy was Flavian's slave for 20 long years. He was made to hunt other werewolves and kill innocent people. Buddy grew to deeply hate himself and the vampires that used him and as time passed Buddy became more crooked and closer to insanity.
But then Flavian experienced a backlash from a dangerous spell and suddenly was very close to death. He transferred Buddy's contract to another person before his death, to his then 17-year-old daughter.
The daughter, Elena, was very different from her father, and basically a prisoner in her family's home. She had inherited her father's great magical powers and wasn't given any freedom. But Elena was very kind to Buddy the young girl slowly healed his broken soul.
Buddy hated to see how Elena was trapped like an animal by the coven and together they planned an escape. They ran away together, taking with them only what was necessary and as much money as possible. They knew the coven would be furious, because betraying them always meant death.
Buddy and Elena ran south, and didn't stop until they were at the US border. Using Elena's powers they were able to cross the border and get into the country.
Buddy and Elena both worked hard while laying low and lived as normally as possible. They kept running whenever they could and finally ended up living in New York. Elena was 22 at the time. During their years on the run it had become Buddy's dream to become a police officer and in New York they had enough money saved up for Buddy go through police academy.
They lived in New York for the next 5 years. During this time Elena met a local human and they fell in love. They moved to an average sized town in another state, got married and Elena soon became pregnant. Buddy stopped living with Elena when the couple got married and instead got an apartment near them. Neither Elena or Buddy knew the ritual for releasing Buddy from his contract, but the two were close friends and didn't really mind.
The baby was born and Elena named her Asteria. The next two years afterwards were peaceful. Buddy worked as a local cop, Elena was a freelance writer and her husband worked as a private bodyguard. Buddy often visited the two and became quite close with their daughter. He loved her as much as her parents did.
But their peaceful life was shattered when the coven tracked them down. They had never once given up searching, and had finally gotten the clue they needed when Elena had gotten married and had a child. Buddy got a fearful sounding telepathic message from Elena in the middle of the night telling him they had found her. Elena burst into Buddy's apartment covered in small wounds and carrying Asteria. There wasn't much time for her ro explain the situation. Elena explained that her husband was dead and that the coven would soon track her down and kill both her and Asteria. Elena was too weak to safely escape while ensuring Asteria's safety. So she relied on Buddy for the last time.
Elena transferred Buddy's contract to her daughter, after giving Buddy a special order to leave Elena, take Asteria and hide after the contract was transferred. Buddy couldn't disobey so after the ritual was done he took Elena's daughter and ran.
Hours later, through the shred of a link they still shared, Buddy could feel Elena die.
Buddy was very much used to running and hiding and though Elena's and her husband's deaths were a deep wound he had to protect Asteria. Buddy changed his name and settled into a small town up north. Asteria accidentally broke the veil by using her powers in a public place. The academy heard about it and couple of weeks later they came investigating. They found Buddy and the child fairly fast and the two were taken to Manta Carlos. Buddy didn't resist, since he thought a place such as Manta Carlos was a better place for Asteria to grow up. And since he didn't know if the coven was still looking for them he felt safer in a place where they shouldn't have to hide what they were.
