As a human:
Brynjar is a big man. He is about 195cm(6.4ft) in height and his body is sturdy and muscular. Brynjar has wide shoulders and thick arms and legs. He has the body of a warrior, honed on the battlefield.
Brynjar’s facial features are well crafted and a bit rugged. He has a sturdy, square jawline and it’s usually covered in short, white stubble. Brynjar has a straight nose that’s slightly on the side, due to being broken once. He has heavy-lidded eyes that have a permanent tired look and thin white eyebrows. Brynjar’s eyes are ice blue and his skin is pale.
Brynjar has platinum blonde hair that reaches over his ears and to his neck. His bangs are long and he swipes them to the left side.
In clothing Brynjar prefers the simple but presentable style. Black or grey dress shirts, jeans and clean but sturdy work boots with thick soles. Sometimes Brynjar wears a long red leather jacket.
Brynjar has many scars all around his body, but mostly on his torso torso, upper arms and legs.
As a polar bear:
Brynjar is no ordinary were polar bear. As a former soldier of Thor he was given special properties and can walk on two feet. He must always wear an enchanted combat armour and can't remove it.
When Brynjar stands on two feet he is almost 250cm(8.2ft) tall and looks like an ordinary polar bear aside from the armour and standing part. He has little longer front legs than usual and big black, sharp claws that can break stone. He’s covered in thick white fur and you can see numerous old scars if you part the hair a bit.
The armour Brynjar’s wearing is golden and has beautiful shapes on it’s surface, such as sun on the stomach plate and moons and clouds on the shoulder pieces.
The armour covers Brynjar’s shoulders, torso and hips but not his head, forearms and legs knees down. Under the armour Brynjar wears chainmail.
In addition Brynjar has a big, spiked bracelet on his left wrist. He no longer has his weapons since Brynjar threw them away.

Brynjar is an intelligent, gentle man with a stoic face and violent past.
Brynjar looks intimidating due to his height and big body but he has a low, soft voice and a heart of gold. He is humble, polite and tries not to talk about himself much.
Brynjar enjoys teaching very much and it makes him happy to help youngsters, or anyone really, learn new things. Brynjar likes feeling useful, almost needs it, and is very helpful and caring. But he won't go against the law and has a clear sense of wrong and right.
Brynjar greatly regrets the things he did in the past and all of it greatly wounded him. Brynjar doesn’t think much of himself and tries his hardest to atone for his wrongdoings. But even though he won't admit it to himself Brynjar is a kind, honest person.
Brynjar naturally has some mixed feelings about gods, especially Norse gods. He doesn't hate them, because Brynjar doesn't hate anyone, but he cannot exactly feel comfortable around them either. Brynjar understands that not all gods are bad people but he has lost his faith in them.
Brynjar is not a man of few words per se but he has trouble expressing himself verbally sometimes. If you let him write a letter or a poem it’s much easier for him to convey his feelings and thoughts. But don’t ask him to read it out loud. Brynjar gets embarrassed easily and is not good at being in the spotlight in any other situation except class.
Brynjar is patient and won’t lose his temper no matter what. Actually, many people are sure he doesn’t even have a temper. But in fight situations, if things get out of hand, he has no problem stepping up and separating the fighters with gentle but firm grip. Brynjar cannot stand useless conflict.
Brynjar is a homosexual but has not been able to admit it to himself yet. He tries to pass his occasional interest in men as simple curiosity or other such thing. Brynjar is openminded and accepts all kinds of sexualities and traits in others but when it comes to himself he is uncertain.
Despite his kind disposition Brynjar has a melancholic air about him and his eyes have a sad look to them, and he has the tendency to get lost in his own mind. It's an instinct he created to keep himself sane while being frozen in ice for several centuries.
Certain things may trigger lapses and make Brynjar remember his past, comrades and prolonged solitude that nearly drove him mad. But this happens rarely since Brynjar is strong-minded and has found ways dealing with his PTSD. But to this day he cannot stand being confined in small, closed places and is badly claustrophobic. His claustrophobia can also sometimes be triggered in large crowds where he cannot move freely.

Active Abilities:
Two Forms: Brynjar has two forms, human and polar bear form. Due to his affiliation with the gods his polar bear form has some special abilities but originally Brynjar was just an ordinary were polar bear. In his polar bear form Brynjar can talk and has physical powers far beyond that of an ordinary polar bear.
Astral Projection: Brynjar can do some simple astral projection. When he's deep in thought and detached from the surroundings Brynjar's mind can separate from his body and move around. The range in which Brynjar can move like this is 5 meters and he can't affect anything material. In this form Brynjar can see auras and normally invisible magic and can only see and hear. Brynjar can't be seen with the naked eye but people who can see or sense spirits can see him. If Brynjar's body is disturbed while he's projecting his mind will immediately spring back. Using this power gives Brynjar headaches but he has not learned how to control it properly yet so it happens by accident often.
Passive Abilities:
Immortality: Brynjar was granted immortality by the gods as a reward for his achievements on the battlefield.
Physique:
-Strength: Brynjar is extraordinarily strong in his human form as well as in his polar bear form. In his human form Brynjar can lift up to a ton and in his polar bear form 2.5 tons. Naturally he has speed too but his powers are more based on brute strength and destructiveness rather than vigilance. Brynjar's top speed is around 30-40mph.
-Cold Immunity: Brynjar can stand cold easily in his human form. He can be without shirt in -10 degrees Celsius and only feel slightly chilly.
-Toughness: Brynjar is tough and he can take a lot of damage. Brynjar's toughness is mainly based on his constitution. His muscle mass is dense and it's hard to deal him internal injuries, and he has thick, strong bones and durable system and body. Brynjar can probably withstand a car going around 30mph and can take multiple punches to the stomach from an ordinary human.
Enchanted Armour: In his polar bear form Brynjar has an enchanted armour. It’s impossible to take this armour off because it was blessed to him by his former master Thor. It is basically a part of his body. The armour is impossible to break by anyone except Thor or some other god his level. It has the ability to channel lightning to the direction Brynjar points with his left hand and it gives him stamina in battle.
Weaknesses:
Heat & Fire: Brynjar is bad at dealing with heat, he gets heatstroke rather easily and feels fatigued in temperatures higher than 15 degrees Celsius. Brynjar is also more prone to burns and they take longer to heal. Fire based magic attacks do twice the damage.

Brynjar was born in the year 835 into a clan of were polar bears in Northern Norway. He had a different name then but let’s call him Brynjar.
The members of Brynjar’s clan were dedicated servants of the Nordic gods, especially Thor. Brynjar was taught from a young age to never ever defy gods and he took those words to his child’s heart. So when Brynjar’s family told him he was to go Asgård to serve Thor Brynjar felt joy and excitement. It was a great honour indeed.
Oh, how wrong the young Brynjar was.
Brynjar was brought to Asgård and immediately his training began, along with other youngsters from Brynjar’s clan. They were to be made into an elite army of Thor, there to vanquish His enemies. Still Brynjar thought it was an honour to serve the mighty Thor, even though he was being taught how to kill.
Brynjar was taught many skills, survival and combat skills mainly. In addition some of the trainees, Brynjar included, were taught languages of their enemies for scouting and spy missions.
The training lasted many years until Brynjar was finally, along with his brothers in arms, released unto the battlefield at the age of 20. They all had been granted new names, appropriate of their nature. Brynjar's name Brynjar Björn meant, roughly translated, "Armoured warrior bear".
And what a fearsome lot they were. Even in their human forms they were big men with big weapons, golden armour and eyes blazing with fury. Their first battles were during unification of Norway and Brynjar spilled a lot of blood. Somewhere inside of him Brynjar, gentle Brynjar, knew all of it was wrong. But he had been basically brainwashed and knew to do nothing else but strike the next enemy.
Every time they were not needed Brynjar and his comrades were frozen in magical ice, waiting for the next battle. Usually they were in the ice for a few weeks the shortest, few years for the longest. And every time they were let out it was all just either violence, treachery or torture.
Brynjar quickly grew numb to all the things he had to do, but his heart was slowly falling to pieces. Brynjar was an excellent warrior, best among them, and unwillingly gathered quite the reputation. And when he was 40 Brynjar was granted immortality and put into the position of a general. It was now his responsibility to lead the troops he so much loathed to be a part of. Brynjar, who so rarely showed his rage outside of battlefield, lost his temper and talked his true feelings to the face of the gods, to the face of Thor. Naturally Thor was furious for this outrage and mutiny and was going to strip Brynjar of his newly gained immortality and standing and kill him. But Brynjar’s comrades, who were witnessing the scene, begged for their brother’s life. Thor heard their pleas and promised not to kill Brynjar. But he was sentenced to an eternity in ice, with his consciousness intact. He was to see his comrades war and die when he had the gal to complain about his fate.
Brynjar accepted his punishment and he was frozen into a block of ice that was then put into the chamber where his comrades passed by every time they returned from battle.
Brynjar watched for many decades how his comrades went to battle, and how on some days one or two didn’t return. And then none of his old comrades never walked in the chamber again.
Hundreds of years passed by and Brynjar saw new generations of warriors train, grow and die. Brynjar was famous among all the new trainees and many stories were spun about him. The stories even reached Midgård and some just called Brynjar "The Treacherous". That word was even carved on the ice block Brynjar was frozen in.
And through it all Brynjar was conscious, and it nearly drove him mad. But somehow Brynjar stayed sane by indulging himself in his own mind. This was how Brynjar tapped into his magic and learned astral projection.
Then, in the year 1991, Brynjar was released from his icy prison.
One of the more friendly gods had taken great pity on Brynjar after feeling him suffer for centuries. They pleaded Thor and after decades of nagging he finally agreed to let Brynjar go. He had suffered enough.
When he got out Brynjar was broken and confused to say the least. The kind god who had pleaded for his release explained the current world for Brynjar, and afterwards they brought him to Manta Carlos.
Brynjar spent his first five or so years in Manta Carlos, attending cultural classes and learning the ways of the new world. Afterwards, thanks to a recommendation from another kind god, Brynjar traveled to his homeland in Norway, wanting to see the world he was now in with his own eyes. Brynjar went to many places and saw many things, even getting a university education in Norway in languages and teaching. He also went to the place where his clan used to reside. He was surprised to find a large town at that spot, and some were polar bears still lived there. Brynjar met with some descendants from his clan and learned they no longer served the gods, and they forgave him.
Brynjar spent little over 20 years traveling and has now returned to Manta Carlos to teach at the academy
