Jasmine lay in her hospital bed, staring up at the ceiling blankly as she had since she'd woken up. The clock on the wall had said that it had been around 4:30 in the afternoon when she'd finally awoken. So she'd been unconscious for over twelve hours, by any stretch. It was nearly 5:30 now and she'd spent much of her time just trying to breathe as evenly as possible, but to no real avail since her entire chest throbbed despite the pain medicine they'd given her. The sobbing she'd done when she first woke up hadn't helped; heavy, quivering breaths pushing her lungs into bruised ribs and a hairline fracture at the bottom of her sternum. Each one had been like a knife in the chest.

The nurse who had come in had explained the barest of details to her. A doctor would be around at some point to give her the in-depth explanation. She didn't need either of them though to know that she was going to have a rough recovery ahead of her. Jasmine had never been injured this badly before, and she was kind of surprised that she was even as well off as she was. She vaguely remembered the force she'd been hit with, like a small car.

But the pain and the fog in her head from her pain meds weren't the worst thing. She knew that, eventually, someone would come. Maybe Eric, if he didn't secretly hate her. Or maybe even if he did. Either of the Angelos, possibly. She didn't have any illusions that the rest of the Enigmas would care enough to come see her. That thought brought more tears to her eyes, but she choked back the sobs out of fear of the pain they would bring. But the one that scared her the most was if Arianell came to see her. She didn't think she would. Jasmine had messed up big time, snapping at her like she had. One of her only friends... were they friends? She didn't know. Either way, she definitely hated her now too. Just like everybody else.

Stupid and selfish. They're right to hate you, she repeated to herself for the dozenth time.

Ronnie had avoided the hospital like the plague ever since he left rehab. The hospital was never a good place to go for Ronnie. Everytime he visited one was for when something bad happened.
Which is the same reason that brought him back to the hospital today. When he got the news of that something bad had happen to Jasmine, he started to feel this sickening dread inside.
The things that his mind was coming up with wasn't exactly helping him either. All he could think about was what happened to Mike.
Ronnie alerted the other enigmas via text message and then he headed straight to the hospital. He felt like he should have waited on them but he also didn't want to just stall.

Ronnie arrived at the hospital and headed straight to the check-in station. The nurse was saying something but Ronnie wasn't paying attention really, everything was being tuned out. He just nodded his head and followed silently behind the nurse. The walk to Jasmine's room was painful and slow. Ronnie's body was actively fighting itself, part of him didn't want to just run away and the other part was forcing him to continue. The closer he was getting to the room the more he was feeling queasy and nauseated. He was trying his best to remain calm and just focused on slowing down his breathing.

When they finally reach the door to the room, Ronnie hesitated on entering. What he was sensing was bad, it was really really bad. Before entering, Ronnie put on his human charm. He then knocked on the the door before opening it to hopefully give Jasmine a heads up.
He then waited a few more moments before stepping into the room.
"J-Jasmine?"

Ronnie's Visit

Jasmine panicked for a second when she heard Ronnie's voice and contemplated pretending to be asleep. She couldn't do it though, and just quietly croaked for him to come in. She hadn't really tried to speak yet, so she was shocked by how raspy her voice was at the moment.

She probably needed to drink more of the water the nurse had brought her.

There was genuine surprise on her face when he walked in with his human shape charm on. She looked at the wall behind him when he entered the room proper, unable to look him directly in the eye with all the shame she felt.

"Hey," she said quietly, her voice carrying due to the uncomfortable silence in the room. "I didn't... thanks for coming to see me. Did - is anyone else coming or..."

Stepping in and seeing Jasmine was a big mix of feelings. Ronnie was relieved she wasn't as bad as he was thinking but he was still very not okay with any of this. He cringed slightly at just how bad Jasmine sounded. He moved closer to the side of her so she didn't have to speak up too much.

When she asked if anyone else was coming he sheepishly looked down. He did send out a text so maybe they will but at the moment he really wasn't aware if anyone was coming. "I um, sent out one of those group messages thing. So maybe?"
Ronnie frowned after he spoke. It was getting harder to the vibes he was getting off from Jasmine.

Well they should all come right? What could they be doing that is more important than checking on a friend in the hospital?
Ronnie definitely preferred everyone being here. He really didn't know what he was doing and just felt awkward and out of place. Like, he wasn't sure if it was weird or not to ask what happened.

"How- uh. Are you-" Ronnie frowned again after struggling with what he was trying to say. He was trying to remain calm but it was clear he is having a hard time at doing that too. "I can't keep doing this to you guys...."

ANGELO GENOVESE

Angelo had not been the best of friends. Really, it was hard to say if they even were friends, really. Certainly they were friendly, and they interacted some times, but they didn't keep up with one another.

Which is why finding out she was in the hospital hit him like a brick to the head.

She was... well, he wasn't entirely sure what had happened. The information he'd gotten was all muddled and mostly amounted to Angelo (the bigger Angelo) calling him to let him know that Jasmine was in the hospital, and that he thought Jude might like to know.

He did like to know, but that didn't mean he had even the slightest idea what to do with that information. Visit her, of course, but... but what?

So he did what you were supposed to do in a situation like that. He grabbed her some flowers and headed to the hospital. He didn't go right away, attending late that afternoon, but he wanted to at least make an appearance - to let her know he was there.

Ronnie's Visit

Jasmine frowned heavily, reaching out carefully so that she didn't strain her chest muscles too much to touch Ronnie's hand. "You didn't to anything to me, Ronnie. I... I did this. This was my fault."

She couldn't hold back the crying now, fresh tears welling up and spilling over at the corner of her eyes as her chest jumped painfully with each sob. She already knew... the others weren't coming. It was just him. "I'm sorry I know bad vibes... make you uncomfortable. And here I am - I messed everything up, like always."

Angelo's Visit

A couple of hours after Ronnie's visit, Jasmine heard another knock on the door. She practically couldn't stop her breath from catching, and she gave herself another small hit of the pain medicine pump they had given her.

"Come in," she called out weakly, her throat still sore from all the crying she'd done earlier with Ron. "Door's open."

Ronnie was still there when Eric showed up. He had gotten Ronnie's text, but it took him a little while to re-figure-out how to use his phone, and it took him a little longer to figure out how to get down here to the hospital.

The text was the first he heard about any of this. It hit him like a punch in the gut. He couldn't help but feel like this was somehow his fault, but he didn't know how. This sinking feeling in his stomach.

He was out of breath when he got to Jasmine's hospital room. He looked at Jasmine, all hooked up to wires and tubes and such, and some of the color left his face. "J...Jazz. Are you okay?" It felt like a stupid question, but he didn't know what else to say.

"W-what? No don't say that." Oh geezer now that Jasmine was crying it was getting really hard for Ronnie to control himself. He also didn't like she was blaming herself for this.

While Ronnie wasn't exactly sure what happened to her, he was sure that this could have been avoided in some way. Everything that happened to them could have been avoided one way or another. "That's it. I didn't do anything. I just keep hoping you all will just figure it out but it just leads to things just building up until it explodes."

He finally let it out, which did not make him feel any better. "I don't know... what happened to you and I don't know why everyone is distant right now but blaming yourself isn't going to fix things. It never fix things." Ronnie sat down in the chair next to Jasmine's bed and then scooted over to here. "I don't want to lose you and others to. Being alone is worse than being surrounded by bad vibes all the time."

Ronnie couldn't stop the tears from rolling down his face now. This was stuff he wanted to say for awhile but never really knew how to say it until now. "The Enigmas are my family and family sticks together."

As soon as he said that, The door opened and he glanced over to see Eric. He was relieved that Eric showed up and hopefully that meant the others might show. "See? Family sticks together."

Ronnie and Eric

Jasmine choked up at the sight of Eric. She almost wished he had stayed away, not seen her like this. But he was here and this was happening. Just her luck. Seeing him made her break down further, spilling out a little bit of the sickness in her head.

"I'm not family though, Ronnie. Risky and Anna made that clear when they told me that I was just a fake Monday. And a bad one at that. All I do is mess things up, I can't even walk back to my dorm without freaking out and -"

Only now did Jasmine realize that she'd dropped her rosary. Of course she had. She had wanted to provoke the vampires, but she hadn't wanted them to flee. The police had probably taken it as evidence.

"...I'm no good for anybody. We're all stuck here because of me. We're all scattered because of me. Every bad thing that's happened to us, including this - it's all my fault." She was sobbing again, bringing her hand up to her face to try and hide the ugliness of her crying from Eric and Ronnie.

This was - a lot. Jasmine was losing it. And it killed him to see her in this state. Physically and emotionally broken. How long had she felt like this? How did he not see it?

As she covered her face, he almost went in for a hug. But there were a lot of tubes and wires, and that was kind of scary - what if he fucked something up and hurt her more? So he just put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey... Don't be so mean to yourself. That's my girlfriend you're saying all this bad stuff about. And I'm not gonna stand for anyone slandering her good name."

If she stopped covering her face he would try to take one of her hands in his. Joking was his first reflex in situations like this. As soon as the words came out of his mouth he felt like a dumbass, but he didn't know how else to deal with this.
