The film club was something that Naoko had grown from nothing. She'd started it. She'd found an adviser. She'd brought people together. She picked the films, and so on and so on. It was her baby, and she lit up visibly when Devias asked about it.

"We take over the school theater every Friday evening. We watch a new movie, and we let people drop in and drop out as they'd like. We have a bunch of people who show up for movies regularly but aren't even part of the film club, which is a bit weird to me, but... I mean, it's not bad? Just kinda strange they wouldn't just sign their name. We're going to be watching Beauty and the Beast - the live action one - this week. Last week we watched the animated version and the club members are going to go out for food after so we can discuss the two versions."

Which was probably more then he'd wanted to know, but oh well.

Devias hadn't expected that the film club actually got to use the theater. That was a pleasant surprise, which showed how much the school supported the clubs the students created. He listened more on what the club usually does, and it sounded a lot like watching movies with some friends, which, while not something Devias had done a lot of during his life, always seemed like a good experience.

"I heard of those movies. The animated one has had some high praise surrounding it, as do some other animated movies Disney has released." Part of making sure the transition from Sol to Earth went smoothly was researching on some common ground that the general population had. The Disney renaissance, which comprised of popular movies aimed for kids, was one of the points that had appeared on his metaphorical radar.

"I will look forward to that. Is there anything I should bring?"

"Wait, you've never-" Naoko started before abruptly cutting herself off. Of course he hadn't seen Beauty and the Beast. He wasn't from earth. He hadn't seen all the movies that Naoko assumed everyone had seen. Lots of people at the school hadn't, which was why the film club so often went back to watch the 'usual' stuff.

"No, you don't need to bring anything. I'd suggest you watch the original though. The animated one is great, but we already watched it last week."

And, if Naoko was right, it was probably far better.

"We could watch it before the club, if you'd like - but I don't have the theater." Theater was for club activities only, after all.

Noted: He didn't need to bring anything for the viewing.

This was something Devias could look forward to. He remembered that the movie was based on a fairytale. Which was true for most of Disney's works, he gathered. Admirable dedication, he'd say.

"That is an option if it's alright with you. I believe the dorm has a player we could use."

((OOC: Short reply, sorry))

Technically speaking, it wasn't a date. Neither of them had said the word 'date' or anything like it. But in Naoko's head? It was definitely a date. It was just the two of them sitting down for a movie together, and what could be more like a date then that?

"If you want to come to my house, we have a TV with a bluray player." Naoko said. It went almost without saying that she had not just Beauty and the Beast, but every Disney film that had been released on bluray available. "I can make popcorn."

She didn't even have to check with her parents either - she pretty much had free reign, after all. "I'm one of the few that live off campus."

Popcorn? A little snack for movie and theater goers? If it was what he thought it was, then this world had yet another parallel to Sol. Or maybe the food was introduced to Sol or someone from Sol. Culture back home was heavily influenced when the high mages found ways to open portals beyond the Void.

"I'd be honored to be your guest, Naoko," he said, with trace amounts of surprise in his voice. The thought never occurred to him, having set the threshold for being invited into one's home being something reserved for friends or similarly close acquaintances. He wasn't over exaggerating being honored.

"When shall we schedule this visit?"

Naoko's cheeks went pink at the mention he was honored. It wasn't a big thing, was it? She had Elias over all the time, and other people too. Maybe it was a cultural difference. No, scratch that - it was absolutely a cultural difference.

"How about next thursday? The house will be free, if you don't have any classes in the afternoon."

Was she blushing? If the room was a little warm, he wouldn't have noticed due to his powers keeping him at a comfortable temperature all the time, so it could just be that the lack of circulation in the air trapped the warmth inside the room.

His daily routine of his classes were memorized by heart, and it only took a few moments for him to reply. "Yes, I'll be free then. Do you want me to walk you home once we're done here? It'll be harder for me to get lost if I've been there once."

Ah, walking her home right then? It was a good idea, and Naoko opened her mouth, right about to say yes... and then thought it through.

No, she decided. It would be a bad idea to head home with someone else without giving her parents a heads up. They might get the wrong idea.

Naoko gave a quick shake of her head.

"Thank you for the offer," Naoko said. "But I'd have to decline. My home isn't too far though, so I don't think you'd have a hard time finding it, and we could always walk home after class on Thursday."

Devias nodded, respecting her decision. Though he did wonder why that was her choice. It seemed like she was about to agree. Perhaps there was a custom to these visits that he didn't know of? He'll have to see if this was the case later. "That is reasonable. We'll save the walk on Thursday then, after class."

He made a quick mental check if there was anything he was supposed to do during those hours. If there was, it was better he said it now rather than throw a wrench into their plans. No, he was free. There was no need for him to change anything.
