He'd had a few days to settle in to dorm life by this point, but the reality was still setting in for Iggy. The previous week was like something out of a nightmare. Ironically Iggy had moved into the dorms as his girlfriend was moving back home. Seemed like something happened with her mom. The past month was just an insane roller coaster of events. Alma and her brother's lust sides just kicked in at full force. Things seemed to be slowly settling down a bit, then Iggy came home to finding his parents dead.

Now that they both had time to catch their breaths they really needed to talk. It was a shit show of a week. Where to even start off though? He'd texted Alma where to meet him. Oddly, this was the second time they'd met here. Iggy was considering calling this the bad news bench.

It was going to be weird explaining to his girlfriend that he'd gone and consumed his parent's bodies and souls. It really was always something with this group.

Alma sighed and zipped her hoodie up further as she landed fromher flight. Wrapping her tail several times around her waist, she approached the bench quietly. There was worry following her, but her aura was buzzing forhl her to not be a pussy.

"Hey," she started as she got close to Iggy. She could feel his aura and he could probably feel hers now. They made an odd pair, opposites attracting in a sense. And everything that happened since they started dating seemed like it was testing them. She just wanted things to get easier for them.

"This bench is gonna be cursed if we keep coming here," she joked. Smiling a bit. But clearly understanding something serious had happened, based on the look in her eyes.

"It might not be our fault. Maybe this is just a designated bench to share bullshit life's thrown at you," he felt some relief when he saw Alma. Her aura gave him some additional nerve to tell her what all had gone down during the previous week. So much had happened. He gave her the full summary. What his aura had done to his parents, and how he'd spent that week under constant observation.

He'd gotten to the major point in the story, that thing he couldn't say out loud. If he said it, that would just make it more real. It only took Iggy a moment, but he turned to look at his girlfriend. "Alma, I ate my parents. Like I ate their souls and their bodies. And this is just a normal thing we do, at some point in our teen years our parents die and we eat them. Then our auras become... manageable."

Iggy pulled away laughing humorlessly. It wasn't asking for much to just have a month go by without something terrible happening to them was it? All he wanted was to get through high school. "I'm in a special powers class now, and I get to see a counselor once a week. I don't know if you noticed, but my aura's actually a lot less intense than it used to be. And wandering around town, I've noticed I don't have the same blocks on intelligent undead that I used to."

He felt like he was becoming more monstrous. But he was also moving towards some purpose, he could feel that much at least.

Alma stared in mild shock as Iggy recounted everything that had happened. It was a lot to take in, even with everything going on in her own life already. But her aura kicked into overdrive, as it had been doing every time she was faced with a challenge lately. Don't be a pussy, it told her. As Iggy finished explaining things to her, she sunk down to sit next to him on the bench.

"What the fuck. I'm really... God that sucks. Are you- I mean, clearly you're not okay. But do you, like..."

Alma trailed off. She was talking too much, when this wasn't about her in the least. She gave Iggy a tight smile and placed her hand and gave it a tight squeeze. "Hey. You were there for me with all my bullshit. I'll be here for you too. We can give a big middle finger to whatever cosmic forces are out to get us."

He was glad there really wasn't anyone else who knew her and could tell her before he got a chance to. Even so, he felt bad just dumping it all on her at once the way he did. But, how do you tell someone about your week in isolation in juvie that had consuming one's parents as the climax. Everything was fucked.

"Yeah, life just seems to have it out for us," he forced a smile and squeezed her hand. "I am glad you're here though, really."

He fell silent for a few moments. Iggy wasn't sure what to say. No, he wasn't fine, he could feel Alma's aura urging him to just find the words and let it out. Just, let it all out. "I hate this so much. I just... I want to go home. I'm just stuck alone in this dorm with Cooper. It's not... he's fine but just, they're gone. None of this is fair. They didn't... they were..." he could feel his own aura gradually building up in intensity, before he consciously forced it back down. "Nothing feels real anymore."
