Noli was going to bring Papa home, by any means necessary.

Lae was not going to be happy with Noli. But she never was anyway. Noli was done trying to figure Lae out. She was going to do what she felt was right. And what she felt was right was dropping out of school so that she could work as much as possible—freelance translating and webcam shows became her life. Only making money to pay back Papa and bringing him to Earth mattered now. She couldn’t wait any longer. She was a fool for going to school, wasting her time in classes. She realized that now. Maybe she would go back after Papa was on Earth, but for now…only money mattered. Because money would bring Papa home, and she would not wait any longer than needed.

After all, she waited too long to see one father. She would not make the same mistake again.

Noli was stressed and exhausted. She barely slept, determined to spend as many hours of the day working as possible. She had to move out of the school into her own cheap apartment. She found the cheapest place possible so that paying rent would not interfere too much with saving up for Papa. It was…not great, but it was necessary for now.

Then she met Kofi, who told her he could bring her Papa home without payment. It seemed to good to be true. But supposedly he made frequent trips back to Mes, carrying cargo. So he was willing to pick Guarin up.

Now she had a plan. She could get Papa home even sooner than expected! But now…she had to tell Laemiri.

She called Laemiri out to meet her in the park. Kofi would be there as well, though now she wondered if that was really such a good idea for him to come too…she had a feeling she already knew what Lae’s reaction would be, and it would not be good.

But Noli took a deep breath, and mustered up her courage. All that mattered was bringing Papa home. Even if it meant her already turbulent relationship with her sister was about to become even worse.

Kofi was....weeell....

He was whimsical? happy? cheerful? Honestly there isn’t really a single word to describe his mood.

He had remembered the day when he told Noli that he could help get her father to E-arth if she really needed help. Kofi wasn’t sure on how determined she was until well...now.

It was great! He was getting to help his people even when not being on Mes and that simple fact made him a willing and happy camper.

So she wanted to meet at the park which was fine by Kofi. He assumed she wanted to discuss the details of how they were going to get him here….legally or not. Either way was fine by him. Kofi had arrived earlier than Noli so he could take a bit of time to explore and frolic in the park a bit. It wasn’t like the parks back on Mes but it did have similar concepts which he took note of.

Anyway, once Noli arrived he skipped over to greet her.

“Ah! Noli friend! Hello!”

The fact that Noli had called Lae to meet her at the park was not a good sign. Noli didn't call on Lae. She didn't impulsive shit that Lae had to clean up. So lae was slow getting there.

When she came late to find Noli with some male who was obviously Prax, Lae groaned. Great. It was like Noli had backup and Lae could already feel dread building up in her gut.

When she arrived over to them, there was an obvious coldness to the way she held her body, as if ready for some form of attack. She eyed Kofi warily.

"Noli? Who is this?"

"H-hey Kofi," Noli said with a sheepish grin, sort of relieved that he arrived before her sister. But Lae arrived soon after.

Noli took a deep breath. She just needed to be straightforward, get it out. And she promised herself she would not cry this time.

“This is Kofi,” she began, gesturing to him.

“He makes frequent trips to Mes. He can bring Papa here, and he asks for no payment.”

Noli squeezed the edge of her scarf in her hand.

“So instead of waiting until we have enough money, he can come now…we can see him. And he wants to be here with us, so…I am going to ask Kofi to bring him here.”

Kofi eyed Lae curiously. He could see the resemblance but he could also see the major differences between the two sisters.

“So alike but so different.” He said in their native tongue, Kofi saw no problem speaking it since they were all prax. It would also be easier for him since he still wasn’t very good at english.

“I am a friend, no need to be so tense now.”
He had quipped in as he place his arms behind his back.

Kofi let Noli say her bit but….well, she didn’t really fully introduce him as he thought she was going to do. He nodded and waited for her to finish explaining before speaking up.

“As your sister said, I am Kofi. Kofi Gahul, Travelling Hama of The Church.” And lowkey leader of paragon space pirates.

“Yes. I can bring your papa here with ease. I don’t need any payment or want any. The Church would gladly help bring your family together.”

At first, Laemiri was glad to see another Prax and speak their home tongue. She hated the English language and hadn't managed a good handle on it yet.

"You are not friend to me," Lae told him when he quipped at her. She did not know this man and it felt odd that Noli might have known him long but only now bothered to bring him up to bring their father here.

To Laemiri, it felt like Noli was doing this to undermine her. Find some random Prax to smuggle their father here and make things potentially worse.

"You want to illegally bring papa here?" Lae said to Noli. "With the church?" Here she couldn't help but give Kofi a look of mistrust. What kind of church would do something like this? How was Lae even sure he was truly at Hama?

"Which church do you preach in?" She asked Kofi.
