Shay had been cooped up in the house since she'd returned and come out to the public. With the exception of her trip to the station and Mikh's shrine (which Klaus accompanied her on). It wasn't a bad thing, Shay didn't mind staying in sight of her family. It hurt how much they loved her. Klaus wanted to be around her constantly and Vito, though more stern, was doting on her now.
Why? She had been weak. Done them wrong. Been foolish. A problem. She was a problem. A sickness that buried itself deep into a person and rotted them from the inside out. She kept wondering if it would have been kinder to move on, pretend she actually had died. But Shay was selfish, and she loved them too much for that.
The only thing Shay cried about now, was how much she knew she would ruin them, given time. And her own weakness at not just cutting herself out. Screw Nick. Screw the gang leader she'd said had been the one to kill her. Screw all those things because they hardly mattered.
Eroshay sat at her desk in her room and breathed out a sigh of frustration. She had a journal, wrote a recent date and was trying to collect the words to put down. Nothing exactly coherent, but it wasn't for anyone else to read. Shay just needed to document the changes of her body and keep track of everything.
When she heard a gentle knock on her door, Shay looked up and told whoever it was to come in. Cecily poked her head into Shay's room.
"Shay, there is a boy named Alain here to see you. He is waiting downstairs."
Shay got changed, making herself look a little more presentable (putting foundation on her very pale looking face) before heading downstairs to greet him.
"Alain, I didn't expect to see you today."

Shay was effectively on lockdown since her reappearance. Which left Alain with little to do after his shifts at work or on his days off. He would spend time with his usual group from school, but it just wasn't cutting it. Theo had effectively cut himself off from everyone for whatever reasons. Shay just seemed different. He knew whatever happened wasn't good, but he was determined to stick by her side through the worst of it. He knocked on the door to be received by the creepy living, not living doll, Cecily. She had an odd scent to her that always put him a little off.
He'd brought a bag full of snacks and a deck of cards. He wasn't really sure what to bring with him. Just something to pass the time while he visited with her. He still couldn't help but smile a little bit when he saw her. He was happy to see her, but played it cool considering he was at her place, her parents place. He hugged her gently and let her go.
"I figured you were getting tired of seeing the same ten people all the time so I figured I'd drop by. This wasn't a bad time for you was it?" he shifted on his feet awkwardly.

Shay had been letting her hair grow out since being put under house arrest. She was sure if she'd begged Klaus enough, he would let her leave, but Shay didn't have the heart to hurt him like that. Besides, she lived in a mansion. There was no shortage of things she could do during her spare time. Right now, her biggest point of stress was how she would manage to catch up in school.
Eroshay smiled wistfully at Alain's body language. He was... upset? Worried? Likely the latter. "Not at all," she replied, descending the rest of the stairs to meet him on the ground floor. "Not like I don't have all the time in the world right now."
She paused a beat, considering what they could do. "Um, want to talk in the home theater? Or, we could go for a swim, I guess. It's not so cold anymore and besides our pool is inside and heated."
Shay was distracted by Alain's presence, wondering what she would do between them. Everything was awkward with people. She hated them and hated herself, hated how she knew they could see all the grime under her skin. Shay's throat tightened, and she cleared it.
"Um, you're not hungry, are you? I can get one of the servants to get you something to eat."

Alain gave the options some thought, sometimes he forgot that the Rosales were about as rich as God, maybe even a little richer. He was never really one for swimming, nor did he come prepared to do any. He considered they'd probably lend him a set of trunks, but that concept made him feel odd. Yeah, the theater was a better option for now. "I mean I don't mind just hanging out in the theater," he answered.
Shay wasn't a particularly hard read for him. Alain was close enough to know when something was off, and she hadn't told him anything really regarding her disappearance. Seeing her now she just seemed distracted. He wasn't one to push, but when people aren't talking it generally doesn't bode well. In thinking about his other friends he felt a strange rift that seemed to be slowly growing, separating them.
"Christ, I keep forgetting this place is as much a resort as it is a home," he forced a smile, as his focus drifted around. "I'll probably end up getting hungry later, honestly. I'm all good for now. More worried about you than anything."

Shay nodded a few times, still unable to relax. She couldn't. The closest she'd come to calming down was during Vince's visit for a tea party, and even that had been stressful with Klaus right over their shoulders.
"Sometimes a prison," Shay said thoughtlessly before flinching. "Sorry. I -- I didn't mean that. I just hate being holed up anywhere."
Shay felt like a coward, hiding out here. Thinking about Nick laughing at her. He would think he won. That he broke. But she wasn't -- Was she?
She reached out and gently took Alain's hand to lead him to the theater. Now she didn't speak until they were in the room and she could close the door until it were only parted. Shay fell into a plush seat and sighed. What was she meant to say now? Nothing came to her.
"I'm... Well not fine, but I will be. I always get back up." Shay didn't look at him, distracting herself with looking around the room or tugging at loose strands on the seaming of the seat.
"I was missing 'cause I sort of died. Took awhile to come back to life. Was some... shitty gang leader. Klaus took care of them."
There, that part was taken care of. Shay gave Alain time to digest that.
