Morning. It just didn't feel the same. Memoca uncurled from her nest made up of dried plant material covered with some sheets to keep her from being pricked, and give a little warmth. Her skin was easily irritated by the slightest graze of grass without any feathers to protect her. She didn't make the nest. A man in a dark coat was to thank for that. She could hardly do anything with this body of hers, let alone make her bed, but she could at least stand up straight now. Walking was still awkward for her.

Everything was awkward for her. She had to wear shoes so her feet wouldn't get pricked. That wasn't something she ever had to worry about before. And these hands, so complicated, yet it amazed her how each digit could spread and move on their own, but they could also let her hold things. Since she lost her beak, it was the only way to hold on to things since her teeth would hurt after a while.

Is was just all so new to her. She rummaged around inside a box the man in the coat left her before he left. It was almost empty. She knew that would be bad, since she just couldn't eat bugs and raw fish like she used to. She always felt sick afterwards, and the way they moved around her mouth made her gag. Even the thought of it was enough to make her want to throw up. But why? Was it because she was a human now? They don't like eating those stuff? Even if she could still eat her regular diet, it wasn't enough for her expanded stomach, or even worth how sick it made her feel. She couldn't even drink the water from the sea without feeling dry in her throat. Being a simple seagull was a lot better than this.

The rumble in her stomach urged her to go outside again, and with unstable steps she stepped out of the abandoned shack. Hopefully she'd find something she could feed herself with, or at least find someone she can get food from. The man that helped her before didn't come back, and at the back of her mind, she felt that he wasn't ever going to.

She looked up and saw all the other seagulls out at sea, fishing. They looked like they were having so much fun. A couple of her friends might be there too, but whenever she tried to get close to them, they always fly away. It made her feel... lonely. She walked down the beach, searching for anything she could eat. At times, her attention would return to the seagulls. Even if they would be afraid of her, she'd go to them because that's where the food was. The only problem? She couldn't swim very well yet. It was ridiculous how useless this body was!

Chloe found herself feeling fairly bored in the morning. She wasn't sure what exactly she should do with her time, but thought that she would take a bit to explore the island that was now her home. She decided to go down to the beach, and luckily due to the weather it was barren. She loved this kind of weather, not getting the sun in her face but not pitch black. She thought it might rain soon but its not like she really cared.

After a bit of a walk she found herself sitting on a bench near the sand but not too far onto the beach. Her mouth was concealed behind her scarf and she had her headphones in to not hear the annoying squeaking of birds, well try to not hear them. She always had a natural affinity for animals, even if she had no business doing so. She decided that she would be nice and took out some bread that she had in her bag, and feeding the birds using it

Memoca kept her gaze mostly trained out at sea, beginning to contemplate trying to fish for herself should she not find anything. But then she noticed that some birds went towards the beach, flying overhead. Her eyes followed them, and in the distance, she saw a small gathering, and a lone person.

Was the person... feeding the other birds? She knew that there were people who would come down to the beach with that intent. In fact, she was a beneficiary of one of their visits a few times. The thought of free food got her excited and she ran towards the group, momentarily forgetting that she was hardly coordinated. The shifting sands didn't do her any favors either.

A fair distance away from the person, Memoca fumbled her step and got thrown forward from her momentum, but to her surprise, she didn't hit the ground immediately. Instead, she sailed in the air for a moment, almost as if she was flying. It was such a nice, familiar feeling, but one that wasn't meant to last as she soon hit the sand, bounced a little on impact and skidded dead center into the group of seagulls, which momentarily scrambled due to her sudden appearance, though the prospect of food convinced them to land again and completely ignore their guest.

Memoca sat up and tried wiping off the sand from her face. A few particles of which entered her nose, causing her to sneeze cutely. This was a new kind of pain. The impact wouldn't have injured her, but she still felt stinging sensations where her body met the ground.
