Brailan Aradhel
I’m not lying! Shut up!
10 | February 1st | Male | Elf/Altavi | Student | 4th Grade
APPEARANCE
(Above art by Keen)
Brailan is a skinny 10 year old boy with the light blonde, wavy hair and pointed ears of his elven mother, Isa. But beyond that, he very much takes after his Altavi father, with his dark skin tone and peculiar blue markings all along his body.
Brailan is typically seen wearing a thick scarf or partial face cover that hides the lower half of his face. That is because he also inherited the shark-like and obsidian black teeth of his father. He doesn't like the constant questioning of his unusual teeth, so he hides them.

Brailan is a stoic child who acts older than his age--or at least tries to. He's a bit standoffish when he first meets people.
But of course, Brailan is a child who has a childish side--he likes to tease and pull pranks on his older sister, Tabitha.
He has a tendency to make up stuff about his mother's former husbands. He didn't particularly like any of Isa's husbands after his birth father, so he likes to talk down about them. He also often wonders about his Altavi father, who he unfortunately never had the chance to meet.
Back in his home realm, Brailan never really had any friends his own age. Between being a prince, and being half Altavi, it was difficult to find children who would interact with him willingly. But those aren't an issue on Manta Carlos, and as a result he's had the opportunity to hang out with kids his own age and actually have some fun as a kid, for once.

ACTIVE ABILITIES
Portal Markings
A power somewhat derived from his mother’s abilities, but manifested in the way of the Altavi. The blue markings on Brailan’s body allow him to teleport. In order to make use of his abilities, Brailan has to transfer pieces of the blue markings on his body onto an area or an object, and that will allow him to teleport to that area or wherever that object is left whenever he pleases. If he no longer intends to use a portal spot, he can bring the markings back onto his body simply by touching the area/object.
Brailan is able to leave his markings on multiple areas/objects up until he no longer has any blue markings left on his body. Since he is only 10, his body is still small and can only leave about 5-6 markings. As he grows up, his markings will grow and he will be able to leave more.

PASSIVE ABILITIES
Altavi Physiology
The Altavi are a human-like race that, as far as anyone knows, only exists in Brailan’s home realm. On average, they are generally taller and stronger than the average human, but also physically slower and the five senses are typically duller.
Because Brailan is half Altavi and half Elven, he is a bit different from the average Altavi. He will never be as strong as the average Altavi, having inherited a much thinner frame from his elven roots. But he is also a bit faster in turn, being able to run much closer to an average human’s speed than other Altavi.
The pointy elf ears give Brailan slightly above-average hearing, as well. But thanks to his half-Altavi side, his sense of smell, taste, and touch are all a bit duller. As of now, Brailan has normal eyesight—but it will likely get worse as he gets older.

Life Span
While the Altavi generally have life spans shorter than the average human, typically only living to about 60-70 years old, lucky Brailan gained an extended life span from his elven mother. He will likely be able to live for a few hundred years before dying of old age.
Monstrous Jaw
Not only are Brailan's teeth made for shredding, but his jaw muscles are incredibly strong. His bite can reach around 1100 PSI, which is the same strength as a hyena’s bite and makes Brailan capable of breaking bones with his teeth. The average Altavi jaw is typically even stronger than this, and can rip limbs off with complete ease—but even as he gets older, Brailan will never quite reach that level of strength.
RESOURCES
He's ten, but from a very wealthy family.HISTORY
Brailan is the second child to Isa Aradhel, to her 3rd husband--His Sworn King Maeval, Leader of the Altavi Tribes. Brailan never met his father, as his mother's curse had killed him shortly before he was even born. But he was close to his mother, as well as his sister Tabitha--despite Tabitha's progressively more estranged relationship with their mother.
Brailan went along with his mother as she went through _ more marriages throughout the span of his ten years, until the people of the various kingdoms of which she had rule began to suspect what seemed obvious--that she must be killing her husbands in order to gain control over many countries. Brailan was, perhaps, one of the few who believed his mother was not a murderer, but who was going to listen to him? He was just a kid.
An uprising was brewing in the various kingdoms which Isa had rule over, and she knew the situation would turn very dangerous very quickly for herself and her children. By this time, Tabitha had run away from her family.
Isa had one method of guaranteed escape from the inevitable uprising--it was in the form of a special teleportation gem that would take her to an entirely different dimension, but...it would only take one person. She could not stand the thought of leaving both her children behind--even if it was basically a necessity in Tabitha's case, as no one knew where she was.
But a savior arrived in the form of Knife, a young woman with the ability to jump through dimensions--and she just so happened to land right on Isa's back door, as it were. Knife would be able to take both Isa and Brailan away, but that still left Tabitha...but now there was a chance of getting her back.
Despite Brailan's stoic attitude, he always had close connection to his older sister and helped his mother plot a way to leave a message behind to let Tabitha know that she could return to them, using the teleportation gem which was hidden away in a special location, should she choose to. As he prepared to leave along with Knife and his mother, Brailan left behind his own special clue for Tabitha: the gem was wrapped in his favorite scarf.
Both mother and brother hoped what they had left behind was enough for Tabitha to understand, and to persuade her to join them in the new dimension in which they would end up. With that, they joined with Knife to the next dimension in the hopes of finding a new home suitable for them.
Isa was confident in Manta Carlos as soon as they stepped foot on the island. Brailan was...not as sure as his mother of this place. He did not think his mother would handle the fact that she could not be a 'queen' in this land, but it soon became apparent that, to her, being a business woman would not be all that much different in her eyes--especially as she grew more and more successful with her chain of hotels and resorts.
Brailan lives a fairly normal life with his mother on the island now, although she is extremely busy and often away on business meetings. Brailan goes to Starlight Academy, and finds it difficult to associate with the other kids his age. At least, for now.

OTHER
-Supporting Character
-Where He Lives: His mother's mansion
-Relationship Status: He's 10. However, he does get little kid crushes on adult men. He currently has crushes on Jafar and Frito.
-Because of his dulled sense of taste, Brailan is fairly apathetic to food. He hates most sweets, but one of the few things he does like is licorice. It’s one of the few things that has an actual, distinctive taste to him.
-All the Altavi are born able to see colors and become colorblind over time. Brailan has just recently started to struggle with reds and greens.
