@Saber
She wasn't hungry, not yet but she knew she was going to be at some point and it was best to hunt before you grew hungry, to hunt while you still where strong. Aki was however not in a rush and walked as her human evolution dictated, on two legs standing tall. She didn't mind because while it was inefficient in terms of speed, it was the best to taking in the sights and smells.
Looking left she could see unnatural constructs with some of them trying to reach the stars, even without a dogs sense of smell the scent of civilization, of smog was quite strong. On her right side however, stood the forest beautiful and fresh in scent.
There where no right or wrong when it came to how to enter a forest and every time she went to hunt she tried different approaches, first time she tried following the overgrown man made path and the second time she just picked whatever way she thought fastest to finding her prey. This time she followed a path along the outskirts of the forest, shifting her nose into that of a canines, by reflex, like most shift shaping she does aside from shifting into a complete animal, which requires some thought and visualizing her change.
There was a distinct difference in fragrance between the flowers, they however came all at once. This was when she got the whiff of something familiar, she knew the scent, but from where? Following it until she found a cabin. Now, she had learned some stuff about Humans in her travels and knew she needed to knock but a stray thought prevented her. What if the scent comes from someone random, living so close to the forest she could have picked up the scent when she hunted and gotten familiar with it. It could be true because she couldn't place the scent.
Aki stood outside pacing, unsure of her next action and staring at the door as if it would provide with an answer.
