Boredom comes in many levels

Loneliness was something that could truly kill a person, if they didn't know how to handle it. It was the one thing that drove thousands crazy, others mental and most senile. It was the thing that you couldn't control in most cases, even if you wanted to. And Kylie was right smack in the middle of it. However, when it came to the blue-eyed, brown-haired 18-year-old, there was no danger whatsoever of it killing her. She was used to it, having been pretty much along since being a baby. Once you got the hang of it, it wasn't so bad. Then again, maybe she had already hit insanity, and didn't know it yet.

The lounge was completely deserted, most of the students either outside or at classes. Kylie herself should have been in class, but refused to move from where she sat, glowering in a rage that couldn't be doused. Being new in this school, she didn't know anyone, and no one appeared to care who she was. And so once again, Kylie found herself alone.

Sitting at one of the many tables in the room, her crystal eyes scanned the place, looking for something to do. They landed on the soft, plush couch in the middle of the place, and it immediately began to rise off of the floor. Kylie's eyes began to flick back and forth, and the couch began to spin faster and faster, the colour a blur 5 feet off the ground. With a sigh, she closed her eyes, and the couch came down with a crash, echoing through the room and making the floor shake. Sighing again, she turned her eyes to the window, watching the groups of students sitting on the grass.

Mez walked into the lounge spotting an older girl, he wondered why she wasn't in classes. He himself witheld from classes today because he was kicked out of the classroom for hypnotizing the teacher to make it a day off. He didn't try to, but the teacher did say to demonstrate his power, so he did. He wore a white tank top under a blue halfway buttoned short sleeved shirt. He hadn't planned on anyone being in the lounge.

He saw her lift the couch spinning it in the air, he watched silently. Boy... reminder to self, don't sit on the couch. He heard the bang as it hit the ground, he decided the coast was clear now. He wondered why she did it, was it out of boredom? In all his life he hadn't seen a couch be treated so roughly in boredomland.

He walked towards a chair taking a seat. "Hey there, newbie ey?" He asked in a friendly relaxed tone, he wasn't one to make people feel odd or strange even if they were. Of course he was a eat and run and a hyperactive nut himself most of the time. So this really had no relevance at all in matters of sanity.

He looked at her noticing her blue eyes he merely smiled. He himself had dazzling blue eyes, but he also had a girlfriend with beautiful eyes so he was easily able to treat them as if they were regular. Though he noted they were pretty shinny, but he wasn't one to admire something in a girl if he had a girlfriend of his own.

What was the point in being in this school anyways? Yeah sure, they were supposed to help her with her powers, but what happened if she didn't want to be helped? As far as she was concerned, the world was her oyster, and everyone just better watch out. They had pushed her aside like so much unwanted trash, and now it was her turn to pay them all back. And they would pay, oh yes they would...her parents, her sibling, the people at the orphanage, even the people who brought her here. Even the Headmistress, maybe, although she hadn't done anything personally to Kylie.

Groaning under her breath, Kylie was about to set her powers on something else, when someone slipped into a seat opposite her. Hey there, newbie ey? Her crystal blue eyes came in contact with his, and she realised that many people here would never even look at her twice as a thread. They should. But this young man seemed only to want to talk to her, and for that, Kylie let her guard down.

She nodded, shrugging indiferently at the same time. "Yeah, first week!" Her eyes crossed over him, assessing him, not in a way a girl would assess a boy for a relationship, but more as an alien would assess a human for lifestyle. She managed to smile at him gently, a motion that wasn't normal for her. "I'm Kylie!" She extended her hand to him.

He noticed how she seemed upset, he remembered life as a orphan and often knew how it felt to be alone, bored and ignored. He heard her groan and put the two together guessing it was the 'new school syndrome'. He wanted to try and help her feel like she'd be able to fit in and get friends easily. Though he wasn't the peak of popularity because of his occaisonal out of hand jokes.

"Yeah first week!"

He smiled "So I guess you haven't met anyone else yet. Don't worry people will warm up to you, your at least not like me so you'll fit in unless you pull jokes a lot yourself." He said with a litte mischevious grin, "I kinda am kicked out of classes for the week in order to 'teach' me to behave properly in class." He smirked, "I kinda used my power to end class early." He said with a chuckle.

"I'm Kylie!"

He smiled, "I'm Mez" He said shaking her hand politely. "Pleased to meet you." He oftenly wondered with every new person that he met, if they liked Clucker's Chicken Resturant. He was obsessed with it since he was little, though Clucker's was for more then meat eaters as well. They had imatation chicken too. He himself liked anything Clucker's had though that was pretty much the only place he ate.

Kylie had no desire to be popular, or to have a lineage of guys chasing after her, or a clan of girls envious of her. All she wanted, for once in her life, was to belong somewhere where she wouldn't be turn out into the cold. It had never happened before...so many people were scared of her, and she supposed with good reason. She wasn't exactly the safest of people, but she didn't really care. And besides, who were they, anyways? Just a bunch of normals that didn't have a gift in the world.

As she mentionned that it was her first week to the young man, he smiled at her, and she felt a bit reassured. Not completely, but a bit. So I guess you haven't met anyone else yet. Don't worry people will warm up to you, your at least not like me so you'll fit in unless you pull jokes a lot yourself. Kylie shook her head, having not even really seen anyone, much less spoken to them. She was alone in her dorm and every time she had tried to approach the other girls, they seemed to ignore her. "No, I haven't, although people don't really seem to want to meet me. Jokes? I'm not good with jokes!" Which was true! Her humourous side was small, and somewhat dark.

I kinda am kicked out of classes for the week in order to 'teach' me to behave properly in class. I kinda used my power to end class early. Kylie's eyebrows raised questionningly, unsure on how to ask the following question. "What....what do you do?

As she mentionned her name, holding out her hand, he smiled again. I'm Mez! Please to meet you. His hand slid into hers, shaking it warmly. It was the first human contact she had in this school. And finally, she smiled, a true smile. "Same here!" How strange it was to be in a place where people were in the same situation as you. It was something Kylie was going to have to get used to.

"No, I haven't, although people don't really seem to want to meet me. Jokes? I'm not good with jokes!"

"Meh, people here aren't the bunch of daisies. But they'll get around to it. They just saw you around and probably wasn't sure what you were like and decided to keep a eye on you, it happens all the time. Well I mean, more like pranks..." He said trying not to seem like a jerk because he liked to pull pranks on people.

"What....what do you do?

"Hehe... I kinda made the teacher give the day off, it was rather fun. Previous times the teacher just happened to dance the hamster dance. But this time it was a day off." Mez said with a chuckle. "I can hypnotize people with my eyes, it's fun stuff though. Some have will power to overcome it, but in the middle of class who does?" He said with a chuckle.

"Same here!"

He smiled, "So... Since your skipping out today, would you rather sit here and talk or go get something to eat at a resturant and forget all about school for the day? OH!!! And the circus!! I love the circus..." He said to the girl, he seemed to always want to go to Clucker's or the circus, either way he was always like a little kid, so simpleminded.
