Danica climbed the stairs up to the roof and looked around. Oh, how interesting. I'm up high. She rolled her eyes, wondering why she'd even come up. She walked over the edge. Leaning over slightly and looking down, she came up with a big dizzy surge. Ay, I know that I get dizzy! she thought. Why do I do that? She continued to lean agains the railing, but looked straight ahead instead of down. There are the mountains...

Danica sighed. She really hated it here. At her old shcool, she was popular. People appreciated her attitude, and they didn't take it offensively when she was sarcastic. People at her old school got to know her. Here, they took one look at her hair, and judged her for that. After she spoke in her normal sarcastic tone, she was judged even more.

She wasn't going to be nice. Oh, no, Danica was never nice. Unless she was sucking up to someone, she wasn't nice. She still wished someone would ask her to the winter dance and at least pretend to like her so they could get to know her...

Soryuju walked up to the roof, trying to get away from it all. It was so frustrating. Either everyone was spoiled, or over confident, or just plain whiney.

As he opened the door to the roof, he sighed. "Oh, I'm sorry, don't mind if I join you, do ya?" he said dully, as if not really caring what she said.

Alex, who had been sitting with his back next to the door for a few minutes turned to Soryuju sighing.
"I doubt she minds...She's been quiet there for a while..."

Danica turned around slowly to see two guys walking towards her across the roof, looking very tired and quite a bit like she did when she was about to explode. "Uh... not really..." she said, turning back to the mountains. Yay... people to talk to. She sighed and rolled her eyes. She stared over the edge and looked to the left. There's the lake... and the forest...

After it had been silent for awhile, it began to feel awkward. Do they expect me to talk to them? she wondered. Um... no... I don't talk... Danica still felt like she should say something, so she said, "Did you get sick of all the freaks?" she said, hoping they would know that she meant the annoying, giggling, self-centered kids at the academy.

He smirked. She had an attitude on her. Already he liked her.

"Yeah, their too... happy." he said bluntly as he took a seat on the edge of the roof.

Danica grinned in spite of herself. She was surprised that anyone else thought so. "I agree. They can't say a single word without giggling." She rolled her eyes and looked down at the ground one more time, staring at the tiny dots that were the students. She squeezed her eyes shut when she began to feel dizzy and stared over at the lake. It was pretty up here... in an annoying sort of way.

"Danica," she said, turning away from the railing. Someone else who shared her great hate of these people made her suddenly feel a lot better than she had, which was saying something. Before, she'd felt like she was going to collapse from not screaming. "You?"

He raised an eyebrow, but smiled. "Soryuju. Nice to meet you, Danica." he said politely, but his voice didn't contain too much happiness. If he showed happiness, the world would probably end.

He noticed every time she looked down, she quickly looked back up. "What? Afraid of heights?" he asked inquisitivly.

"Eh, kinda. More like, fear of falling over the edge. I'm okay in elevators, but if there's any chance of me falling off, I get dizzy. Roller coasters are not my thing." Danica stepped back to face Soryuju.

"So, what's your problem? Bad day, or is this normal for you? Seems like everybody has some secret where they can't smile and they have to go around talking in monotones." She rolled her eyes. "Like, nobody's nice. At all."

He laughed. "I come up here every now and then, just to get away from the general populace. There's usually a nice breeze, and if there isn't, I make one." he said with a shrug.

"And I don't like monotones. I'f I'm not really feeling anything, mad sad or happy, I just use an aggravated tone, seeing as I don't start the conversations." he said. As he did, he began playing around with the kids below, making small little dust twisters. They were harmless, but the fools still ran like mice. Rather funny, really.

Danica leaned over another time to see what he was grinning at. "You're doing that?" she asked, before she had to stare up again.

She leaned her head on her hand, feeling really tired. She tucked her hair behind her hears and looped it into a loose ponytail. Hmm, she thought, looking at it, turquoise was getting kind of old. What color next? Maybe pink...
