Bored at night

Chance had been walking around the school and was extremely bored. He decided he needed a nice place to practice his powers. It had to be outside and some place high. Suddenly the thought hit him, the roof. The roof was the highest place on the grounds. He closed his eyes and thought really hard about the roof. Suddenly bright lights surrounded him and he disappeared and reappeared on the roof. He looked out at the night and smiled. It was beautiful. He decided he needed some lightning. He raised his hand and a flash of lightning hit the grounds.

Kristin's heart seemed to jump into her throat, and it took years of self-control exercises to keep from screaming, when this guy suddenly appeared in front of her, interupting her quiet meditation. She had been sitting up here, enjoying the cool night air, eyes closed, head back, trying to erase the stress a new school brought her. She hadn't exactly gone to school since she was 11. These people would think her stupid. She'd just flash her fangs, to scare them. They didnt know she'd never hurt them.

Kristin flashed them now, just to see how he would respond. "Need something?" she asked.

When Chance had first came here he had no idea that she was here. He didn't notice her until she spoke, "O no, I am sorry, I didn't know you were here." He saw her flash her fangs and he didn't get scared but was interested. "Wow, I have never met a vampire before. " He extended him arm to shake her hand. "Hi, my name is Chance, what's yours?" He smiled at her friendly waiting for her to return the greeting.

"I'm Kristin." She said. reaching out to shake the hand he held out. Don't worry about it. And I've never met a vampire before either. She shrugged. Lucky human... She thought bitterly, as she typically did every time she met someone new.

He smiled at her comment and took back his hand after she shook. "I am sorry, I didn't meant to interrupt anything. I will leave if you want me to." he turned and began to walk away.

"No really, its fine. I'm in need of some company." Kristin reassured. Then, she decided she'd better add something else. "I promise not to eat you or anything." She inflicted her voice so he would understand she was teasing him, but aslo telling the truth.

He turned back around when she said he could stay. He laughed at her comment. "Don't worry, I'm not scared of you." He looked around at the star-filled sky. He again raised his hand and a big lightning bolt shot to his hand and stayed there as he twirled it around his fingers. He had often done this to entertain his family or friends. He looked at her face trying to find any amusement. He then started to throw the now ball of lightning to each hand.

"Well, I'm not scared of you either, if thats what you are trying to accomplish." Kristin said, staring at him, definitely not amused. "Can we sit down and have a normal conversation, or are we going to spend the evening showing off powers? Bo-ring."

"Typical vampire stuff, I guess." Kristin said shrugging. "You've already demonstrsted yours... So its time for a new topic. How long have you been coming to Starlight?"
