Hates Himself - Bottles up his emotions to the point of breakdown. Considers himself a worthless halfbreed. Will never measure up to real angels. Thinks he should be punished for falling and can never really make up for his failures. He keeps trying though.
White Knight - He has a strict morality. Punish the guilty. Protect the innocent. Has a hard time seeing shades of gray. Will help someone hurting. Reacts violently to people who abuse authority. Leans more towards justice than mercy.
Socially Awkward "Good Boy" - Introverted, keeps to himself. No clue when it comes to social interactions, especially involving romantic entanglements, flirting, party-type things. Tries to avoid traditionally "naughty" things.

Quirk: Wary of demons. Hates fallen angels because as far as he's concerned falling is a choice. Puts angels on a pedestal. A complete dork when it comes to animals, especially bunnies. Drawn to the water, but has nightmares of drowning. Bad liar.

History:
- Mother angel had been captured by demons, had half-demon son, and escaped. Has a son with a nightmare creature to gain advantage for angel side.
- Dan taken away from mother, though still in occasional contact with her. Raised by other angels and taught to be ashamed of himself. Only thought of as a weapon.
- Left home around 15-16, wanted to prove himself, thought he'd be able to go back eventually.
- Washed up in town, taken in by orphanage. Stays long enough to finish high school and get a job so he can move out.
- Works part time while getting an associate's degree at the nearby community college.
- Applies to the police academy in Portland, but doesn't make it through the hiring process medical exams.
- Finds out about home being destroyed, conflicts with Caleb.
- Too much for him to handle, begins to lose control of abilities. Suicide attempt and fall.
- It's been a couple months. He's just trying to pull himself back together.

Appearance: Tall, one-eyed, scarred man with sharp teeth and one black arm. Prone to humourless grins and laughter.
Personality: Accustomed to violence and strict authority, he struggles to adapt to human society. Aggressively takes advantage of the freedom to question everything without punishment.
Abilities: Shadow manipulating, flying demon.
Situation: Lives in an abandoned house on the edge of town. Hunts for food, so he's getting by.

Body: Fair Skin. Athletic build. Collar-like scar around neck. Permanently injured left hand, often bandaged. Right arm from hand to shoulder is shadowy dark blue-black, can be passed off as a glove or prosthetic.
Face: Sharp teeth. Clean-shaven.
Eyes: Missing left eye. Silver.
Hair: Short, Somewhat Spiky, Silvery-White
Clothes: Functional clothes. Prefers earth tones, but does not care much as long as they fit and he can move in them.
Other: Has large invisible feathered wings that can only be seen in his shadow. Occasionally black feathers fall when he's stressed. Laughs like a cartoon villain and moves like a soldier.

SECTION THREE: Personality
Conflicted - Used to fitting in, this new world seems more chaotic. He's doesn't understand why violence is frowned upon or why people should have empathy and it unsettles him, even as it drives him to learn. He's often overwhelmed and ambivalent towards being in rebellion against his home.
Craves Structure - Has a strong sense of the way things should be. Uncomfortable with freedom of choice and struggles with self-direction. Needs a leader of some sort, but they have to be powerful enough to lead.
Homesick - Even if he's unaware of it, Caleb wants a place to call home. His naturally social inclinations were twisted towards meaningless fighting and sex by the people who raised him rather than friendship, which is what he secretly desires.

Quirk: Can be overly literal. Unfamiliar with most common topics/pop culture/politics/history/etc. Tries to avoid drinking alcohol or anything else that affects his mind. Avid reader of nonfiction, but fiction upsets him. Will ask questions about everything.

SECTION SIX: History

Place of Birth: Another Realm - Demonic Outpost
History:
- Mother is captured angel who escapes after he is born. Father is archdemon, outpost leader.
- He is raised as a weapon. Specially trained and tortured into obedience by the archdemon himself from the time he's old enough to hold a weapon.
- Starts going on raids around 10 years old. Death isn't real in the outposts' realm. They just vanish for a couple weeks and return.
- There is a pivotal battle against the angelic outpost. A weapon is made that forces a large area out of sync and enables everyone in it to be killed permanently. The outpost is destroyed, most of the angels and quite a few demons are slaughtered.
- The weapon is fortunately single use, but triggers a rebellion among the demons who had never experienced death on this level and suddenly lacked their enemies.
- Caleb is caught up in the rebellion and is punished. He's exiled to Earth and ends up in Polaris Pass.
- Takes shelter in an abandoned house. Manages to get a job as a bouncer with no experience because the owner of the bar is a sympathetic supernatural.
- He's been on Earth a few months and struggles to adjust to his new situation.


Profane Weapon is a garrote that looks like a silver crucifix.
2x Human Strength and Speed is only Peak Human Strength and Speed.

Scheming - Likes lists, plans, plots. His head is filled with schemes, even if he doesn't write them down, which he usually does. He wants to know as much as he can about everyone else without disclosing his own personal information.
Tempermental - Malicious when provoked and liable to hold grudges. He's touchy, proud, somewhat high strung. He may not show it to your face, but he will hurt you if you cross him, eventually.
Easily Bored - Needs a challenge. People's feelings don't matter much if he's entertained. He's just as likely to hurt someone as to help them as long as doing so provides a distraction.

Quirk: A terrible flirt when drunk, easily flustered otherwise. He plays up his harmless nerdiness for effect. He enjoys fooling people, languages, and knowing secrets. Don't thank him.

Core Ability: Plotting - Can see each step and the optimal path to take to succeed at an achievable concrete goal. Doesn't guarantee success or grant extra abilities/knowledge. Not precognition, but he can recalculate on the fly. Most effective with immediate goals.
Bonus: Fae Money - Can conjure up to 5 coins, any type he has seen. They vanish if touched by iron or after 10 minutes.
Core Disadvantage: Honey is a Drug- Even small amounts of honey make him act both drunk and hyperactive. Suffers from memory lapses and craves more honey while under its effects. Any memory of drugged events is spotty and unreliable, and he suffers from something like a sugar crash when the honey wears off.

- Raised as befitting an Unseelie prince with intrigue and backstabbing.
- Begins taking occasional mishief-making trips to human lands in the 80s.
- Bored with court and not wanting to deal with the hassle of assassinating his parents to become king, he stays in the human world. Eventually moves to the US to seek more opportunities.
- Steals what he needs, but finds more entertainment in conning people. Enjoys discovering new ways to scam people while still technically telling the truth, especially using sleight of hand.
- Gets into street magic as a cover. He's amused by people paying to be tricked.
- Polaris Pass seems like a nice town to play in for a while. And full of people who enjoy hoaxes.

Manipulative - Koralia finds happiness where she can, to the point where she can be a gold digger. She figures if she's going to be used anyway, she might as well get something out of it. She seeks to control her life by using people's assumptions against them.

Untrusting - She has been a victim so long it's become part of her identity and she's jealous, possessive, slow to trust that anyone isn't just out for themselves.

Self-Deceiving - She kind of hates herself for feeding on misery and for her sadistic tendencies, but she has a justification for everything. She tells herself that she's a good person for volunteering at soup kitchens and homeless shelters, that she's not just doing it because those places make her feel good.

Quirk: When she just needs to get away for a bit, Koralia enjoys running, which also helps her stay in shape. She can see the supernatural, but still does not believe in it. As far as she's concerned she's a weird human.

History:
Raised by her drunken, abusive father and her distant step-mother in Polaris Pass. Koralia's real mother was the goddess Eris who only stayed with her father long enough to give birth then abandoned them both without revealing who she really was. Her father was also left unaware that he was a demigod of pain & sorrow, though Eris had known this.

Koralia's family was poor with her father often out of work and/or drinking all their money. Her step mother barely managing to keep them afloat with her steadier minimum wage job.

Her father and herself both believe they're human and they do not cope well with seeing the supernatural or their own abilities. They took it out on each other for the most part. Her stepmother was more of a passive observer, neither participating in their often physical altercations nor providing much more than empty comfort.

Public school was difficult for her, beset by bullies there and at home, but she scraped by. She did very well in cross-country racing and between that and her volunteering managed to get a scholarship that allowed her to afford to go to the nearby community college, though she still lives at home.

Bonus: Sees flickers of images, even with eyes closed, around certain peoples' heads, their hopes and fears. The pictures are highly symbolic and generally too quick to interpret, becoming clearer with more time spent with that person. Can see even around invisible people, but only works with people who have the capacity to dream
