Because there are just not enough topics no one replies to :D

Anyway, books: what are your favorites, and are you reading any mentionable ones at the moment?

My personal favorites include but are not limited to: The guardians of time trilogy, The singer of all songs, Neverwhere (Read. This. Book. :shakefist:), The chronicles of amber, A great and terrible beauty, and Old magic. I have a bad mind, can't remember the rest. >_>

At the moment, I'm reading Stardust and Stiff. Both are awesome, although the latter's about 'the curious life of human cadavers', to quote the rest of the title. *shifty eyes* I'm not crazy :shakefist:

I like practically every book I read. Hmmm, I'm reading Wicked right now, almost done. Underworld by some person, and I just finished The Shaktra by Christopher Pike, which is the sequel to Alosha, which I didn't read. (I'll have to look for it.)

The Eragon series is REALLY good, and so is East. I'm not sure who it's by, though.

The Eragon books (Inheritance trilogy, actually) ARE very good. I positively cannot wait for the movie to come out...

Right now I just got done reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, which I now love with a passion. My other favorites include Inheritance, the select Narnia books I've read, Anne of Green Gables (old fave), The Phantom of the Opera, Twilight, Phantom, and Wicked... plus many more, I'm sure...

Some more books I'm going to read:

1.) The Bartimaeus Trilogy - One - The Amulet of Samarkand
2.) Sabriel
3.) Speak
4.) Many Joan Lowery Nixon books that I am totally backlogged in reading
5.) The Chronicles of Narnia (the rest of 'em)
6.) Les Miserables

I'd also like to point out Legacy by Susan Kay, who also wrote Phantom, the sequel/prequel thing to The Phantom of the Opera. Legacy is about the complete life of Elizabeth I, and it is EXTREMELY good...and decidedly creepy as well. ;)

Eragon and Eldest are 2 of the best books I have read. I LOVE them.

'His Dark Materials' Trilogy is very good, that's Northern Lights, I forgot the name of the second altohugh I do have it...and The Amber Spyglass.

But I have to say Vampire Diaries is definitly one of my faves.

...a 'special' kid who sees angels that nobody else can't see. He's pure innoncence, and he grows up with this life. At the end, though, he is murdered. Its the only book that has made me cry.
Reminds me of a book I bought at a discount bookstore awhile ago.... "Trick of the Eye"... something about a boy seeing angels in cathedrals come to life or something... Haven't read it yet, of course...

Books that made me cry:
Anne of Green Gables — The part where Marilla wouldn't let her go to the picnic... for some reason that made my cry right along with Anne. It was doubly weird...

The Phantom of the Opera — "Apollo's Lyre" and "End of the Ghost's Love Story" tore me up, but I'd already cried like 10 times while watching the movie, so...

Phantom — poor kid... Something about a kid telling his mother he hates her just rips me to pieces...

Behind the Attic Wall (by Sylvia Cassedy) — Okay, now I must ask, who has read this book? Or any books by Sylvia Cassedy? She is one of my favorite authors, and this one was so creepy and happy at the same time. I love her writing style, how she makes it so simple and so deep at the same time... Meh... anyway... I cried when Maggie was trying to wake up Miss Christabel and Timothy John. So sad...

I'm in a ranting mood today... Really...

If you like murder mysteries, I'm going to recommend Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None." It takes a while to get into, because there are so many different characters, but it's well worth it. It left me with a positive chill at the end.

And Poe! Everybody read Mr. Edgar Poe! :shakefist:

I'm gonna read Speak eventually. Eventually.

Hmm, what else have I read lately? Oh, yeah, I just read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was funny.

That reminds me... I want to read The Man Who Was Poe by Avi. It looks good-ish.

I started Small Steps by Louis Sachar... it's like a sequel to Holes. It's good-ish.

The only book that has ever made me cry was Harry Potter and the... um, I don't remember, it was the 6th book. What was it called?

I'm reading The Sea of Trolls-Nancy Farmer, right now. It's ok if you like simple books.

My favorite book is TWILIGHT. Which you will read OR DIE IF YOU DO NOT!!!
*runs in circles and faints*
(by Stephenie Meyer)
And it's the first of a series. *hugs self*

Ok, I'm also reading the Pendragon series, the Divide trilogy, the Great Tree of Avalon trilogy, and such.

You could also read Wolf Rider-Avi. It's quick and clean. Gets straight to the point. (murder mystery-kinda) and it took me about...hmm...*thinks*....an hour or so to read.

has anyone here read Rebecca-Daphne Du Maurier?

(as you can see, i quite enjoy reading/talking about/reviewing books)

*edit* oh, also read Bloodline-Kate Cary

Yay!!! Another Twilight fan! I love it because it has a pinch of everything: humor, Twilight-zoneish chapters (he he... Twilight Zone!), romance, and awesome suspense!! And they might make a movie??? *looks at site*

I can't wait until the second book... What's it called: New Moon? Yes... I hope she writes tons of books... Stephenie is *SUCH* a talented author...

Anyone read the Bartimaeus Trilogy? I started the first book: The Amulet of Samarkand, yesterday, and it is pretty good. It's set in modern-day London, only there're magicians and demons and nymphs and all kinds of things everywhere. It's very funny... :tophat:

GAH NOW I'M REALLY MAD! My friend let her neighbor read Twilight right when I was about to ask to borrow it! And her neighbor's probably going to take forever to read it!!!!!

Goshdarnit!

Ooh! I just thought of some more.

Anybody read the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfield? There's only two so far. Ugles and Pretties. They're really good. Scott Westerfield is funny. I read Peeps by him too.
