She remembered he had memory problems but he couldn't even remember her, evidently Anatolii was worse at this then he had originally thought. People he had no way of actually knowing were now having to give him his own background. As far as he knew, she could totally be fabricating the entire thing and he didn't even have a single fact he could dispute it with. He hoped Anna wasn't making it up though, it would be nice to have someone at the school who actually knew his problems. It was always a little challenging for him to admit his problems. Some people took It well, others began to treat him differently afterwards. They'd treat him like he was a child who would be better off wearing a helmet, they'd try and make decisions for him, or introduce themselves even though he obviously remembered them. Anatolii knew better than anyone else how broken his head was, that didn't mean he needed a babysitter for every waking moment of his life. Sure, he had problems remembering things sometimes and occasionally he would inexplicably get angry or really sad but he was still capable. He hoped Anna didn't baby him, he really wanted to trust her. He didn't want her to think he was 'problematic.'

"I really wasn't reading anything, I was trying to remember a certain book. The title of said book alludes me, however. That's not too important though. Are you okay? Is there something I can do? You seem to be in pain?" The book could always wait, his new friend didn't look like she was doing okay and that was going to take priority.

Anna dropped her shoulders in an attempt to relax through the pain and not make it any worse by stiffening up. She was stiff enough already from having to sit all the time. She honestly couldn't wait to be out of this chair and walking around again. She gave a pained smile and sighed lightly, "The crash broke three of my ribs, they're still pretty tender. I'll be okay. I just moved in a way I shouldn't have." She tapped lightly on the wheels of her chair.

"There was a book we used to read a lot when we were kids. Captain something...?" She turned her head to look at the bookshelf, as if the answer was there. "Can't remember. I'm pretty sure it had the word Captain in it, though." She tilted her head and gave a light shrug. "If you want, I can show you around campus a little. I got a tour from a friend a little while back, and I think I can remember what most of the buildings are at this point."

"Tripps." He blurted out, "Captain Tripps." Anatolii remembered that one. He could remember literally nothing else about the books except for the titular character. Regardless, he was going to give himself a mental pat on the back for that one. He remembered something that someone else didn't.

"I'm not entirely sure a tour will do me any good, but hey. I've nothing better to do, so sure." He was going to have to try and find a map if he was going to stay here long, too many buildings to remember. However, maybe if he got a nice little tour under his belt, he could stand a chance of actually remembering some of these places when the time came.

"You sure you're up for it, Wheels?" Yeah, Anna being in a car wreck was a bad situation. That was definitely not going to stop him from trying to make light of the situation though. Humor never hurt anyone.

"Yeah! Captain Tripps. It was in the book or something," she nodded, thrilled that he'd remembered. She couldn't remember much about the book either, other than that part about Captain Tripps. They made up their own stories about him sometimes, she vaguely remembered.

"Of course I'm up for it," she grinned, wheeling herself back out of the aisle of books. "C'mon~." She led him out of the library and into the daylight. She was pretty mobile, despite the chair, though perhaps it wasn't quite as fast as walking. She rolled herself along and pointed out a few of the different buildings that were nearby.

They came to a large, clear area between some of the buildings, scattered with benches and pathways that led to other areas of the school. "It's probably obvious, but this is the courtyard," she told him. "I kind of use it as a landmark. The arts building is over there, I like to play on the piano in the big ballroom sometimes." She smiled, "The Rodriguez family had an upright piano. Do you remember that at all? I used to play it almost every night after dinner."

Anatolii was glad that his joke was received as such. He never saw much of a reason not to make a joke out of poor circumstances. To him, reveling in the misery rarely got people anywhere. However, embracing the suck and realizing that the least you could do was find something to laugh about gave you some humor in a sucky situation. He often used humor to defuse tense situations, sure it could make it seem like he didn't care but at least he wasn't all boring and serious all the time.

He tried to soak up as much of the info that Anna was feeding him as possible, he may need to know where some of these places were in the future. Hopefully, if he saw some of them then at least he might be able to jog his own memory about where and what X Building was when someone asked him. The courtyard was nice though, he made a note to try and come out and just sit in the courtyard sometime when no one around. Plus, it made for a good starting point. Most everything he should need should be relatively close to the courtyard, in theory.

"Um..." Anatolii racked his mind for any mention of a piano, "I think so." He furrowed his brow and grunted, a little frustrated that he wasn't able to recall more of the piano playing. "I can remember a piano but, for the life of me, I can't remember it being played. I guess." That would've been a memory he would like to remember, much better than some that visited him occasionally.

Anna watched his expression and smiled a little. "Well, if you'd ever like some music, just say so. I can play a lot of different instruments. Before the crash, I got a job as a singer at this fancy nightclub. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to work for a while, though. My boss told me it was okay, but I feel kind of bad since I'm still new and all."

"That's the infirmary," she pointed out another building. "I'm studying to be a nurse, so I'm hoping some time I can volunteer there or something. I haven't really looked into it yet, there's been so much going on lately."

Her wheelchair stopped suddenly. "Gah," she glanced down and saw that the sidewalk was uneven here, and the lip between one slab of concrete and the next was a little too large for her to get over. She backed up a little, but she wasn't sure that trying again would do anything. She couldn't push herself too hard in the chair, because of her ribs.

"That's the thing about going new places, there's always so many things to do at first. Eventually you'll get around to it, just give yourself time." There were still a lot of things Anatolii had wanted to do before he left Anaheim, he still wasn't sure that leaving had been the best option. It's what Marko had wanted him to do though and Marko was the last bit of family he had left.

Anatolii noticed her her chair get stuck and gently maneuvered her over the rough patch. "There ya go." He hadn't thought that wheels wouldn't make for the nicest mode of transport, "Maybe we should get you some off-roading tires." Life would be infinitely easier for everyone if they could just adapt on the fly like he could. Minor inconvenience? Poof, reactive adaptation has solved your problem!

"You ever been to Lubbock?" He asked, "I stayed there a while, it's not a fun place." He was pretty sure he had been in Lubbock just shortly before he had been in Anaheim. He didn't have fun in Lubbock, the overall memory of the place carried a negative connotation.

"Thanks," she said gratefully as he freed her from her predicament. It was a good thing he had been with her. Otherwise, she wasn't sure what she would have done. If only there was an easier way for her to be able to move around. Like...the portals that James had, or flying or just something. Flying would be really cool. Like, with wings and stuff.

As she held onto that thought of flight, she suddenly felt a wave of sickness. "I..." she started to respond, and then folded her arms over her stomach and doubled over, nearly falling forward out of her chair. She felt a hot tingling sensation between her shoulder blades and the sound of ripping cloth reached her ears. What the hell?

A pair of large, black wings sprouted suddenly from Anna's back and spread out to either side of her, tearing holes in her shirt when they pushed through. The wave of sickness passed and Anna looked over towards Anatolii, only to see a huge black wing stretching out beside her. "What the...what is that?!" she shrieked in complete surprise.

Anatolii had been preparing to say something. Whatever it was went straight out of his brain once Anna seemed to be in pain. And then there were wings. He was pretty sure she hadn't mentioned that. He felt like he would remember that. Yet, there she was, wings and all. "I'm not an expert, so maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's a wing. I don't remember you saying you had wings. Did I miss that one?" He was no stranger to sudden power changes, that was basically his whole power, so the overall shift didn't terrify him that much.

"Looks like you have wings now." Anatolii was still trying to reconcile this information. He'd learned a lot today in such a very short amount of time. One thing was for certain, there was no way in Hell he was going to remember where the art building was now. "I'm not sure what social convention dictates here so I'm just gonna go straight into the questioning phase. First question: Do they work?"

Anna shook her head, "This has never happened before. Wings? Seriously?" She glanced to her other side and saw the other wing. She straightened up slowly until she felt her wings bump the back of her wheelchair. This was weird. It was like having an extra pair of arms. She could feel with them.

"Wings," she said again, trying to believe that this was all happening. She wasn't dreaming, right? This all felt pretty real. Did they work? "I dunno," she replied. Trying to remember how to function, she locked the brake on her wheelchair and steadied herself with it as she rose on her good leg. Her wings wobbled awkwardly as she tried to keep herself balanced with them. Once she was steady, she took a deep breath and gave them a test flap. She felt them pull her upwards, but not with enough force to lift her off the ground. "I think so," she pondered, letting them fold up behind her and then stretching them outwards again. They were huge, bigger than she was. She had no idea what to think about this.
