Van was rarely surprised, Aylin's question made him choke on his tea and break down laughin, "during those cycles I would leave, go into a city until it was over. They were beautiful but I didn't wish to take advantage of them." He took a sip of his tea.

"You see one of the deals for peace was that the Lamia keep any other supernatural beings from making trouble abd they get equipment and supplies for artificial insimination." A species of all female would require such a setup.

Aylin couldn't help but laugh when Thurstan did. her question was insanely personal, but he had been a good sport about it providing her an honest answer. If anything though it provided her with a decent piece of info about herself. She wasn't abnormal for her lunar cycle, that that was in fact something of her species. He also managed gain a great deal more respect from her when he stated that he would leave them during those nights out of respect.

It was even more interesting to find out that the Lamia had a deal worked out in order to maintain their numbers, while avoiding causing problems. On that note Artificial insemination spoke volumes about how far her people had come. Even if it was using the equipment and supplies of another race. clearly the Lamia people were far more civilized than she had been led to believe.

She took another sip from her tea, before jotting down some more points in her notebook. Another question had been haunting her now. One that had eaten away at her for as long as she had been here."Where they... Where they from here?" Here was a reference to this realm. When all Aylin could find were obscure historical references she began to wonder if maybe her people hadn't managed to come from somewhere else. After all this realm seemed to connect with every other one in some obscure way. That was how so many different people had managed to converge here.

"Thats hard to say my dear, according to Greek myths the first Lamia was someone cursed by Hera," he refilled his tea and added a bit of blood to his cup before taking a sip. "It is possible that a Lamia entering this dimension for the first time may have been misinterpreted as some action of the gods, but the Lamia I knew didn't know of their true origins."

"There's a saying, In Between History and My you'll find the Truth. You and I are proof of this, legends say both our kinds are monsters...yet here we are, just people with the potential to be said monsters, yet we choose peace." He took a sip of his tea, and gave her a smile.

She looked up from her note writing for a moment. Thurstan had said something rather interesting. The Lamia he had met had no knowledge of their origins. Much like herself. Maybe then they weren't local creatures. maybe Lamia, much like herself originated in some other place and simply arrived here. The ones that did set up their own cities, and started life anew. Much the way she had. So then was the process to get here so traumatic that it simply erased the memories of those who made the voyage or was it something more?

This was of course great information as it gave Aylin comfort in knowing that the others were like her. However it raised more questions in her mind. What was the place they had come from? Were Lamia fleeing or expanding? could one go back? She stopped a moment now, her thoughts focusing on that last question. Could she go back? And what if she could, would she even want to? She had no idea what was back where ever she came from. Maybe there was nothing even left. No she wouldn't go back, this was her home, and this was where her family was.

"So they had no idea how they originated either. I dare say then that the myths of this world helped them remain obscure enough to remain hidden." It was a simple truth. fear often guided the minds of people. in many cases the frightening visage of something was more than enough to keep people at bay. If the Lamia wanted to hide they would have no problem with it. It might have even been safe to assume that the modern myths about the Lamia originated from them in the first place.

Aylin smiled and took another sip from her tea cup. "Ok so did they all look like me? I mean I can't imagine they all had pink hair or white scales. How big were they?" it was hard to imagine creatures bigger than herself. But even here on the island massive dragons existed so it wasn't so out of the question. She suspected that there was no way she was the biggest.

((I think we already talked about sizing OOC before.))
