Amber looked up to her captor, her body stiff with the horror of her reality. She was going to be stuck here as some... lab experiment and never being able to see her beloved family again. Her moms Chloe and Pandora, her sisters Ossa and Pheadra. Even Dalia! Was her last last memories of her going the two them being driven away?

"N-no... NO! I don't to do your stupid tests! I just... I j-just want to g-gu home a-aund see may family again!" cried out Amber as her chitin-plated hands covered her face as she moped. Between the the sobs she peeked through the cracks of her fingers, as the proxy shifted through its tools without any care for her well being.

"Whu... whuat is it that y-you are-" stammered Amber before sudden the world seemed to fall from under her. Before she mind could register what had happened, she found herself in another unfamiliar room. She as she looked around her new surroundings in her dazed state, she could hear panicked, familiar voices swirling all around her. When her vision came to, she could see her mother's face like some teasing illusion meant to torment her. But... but was it real?

"M-mom? Is... is that..." spoke Amber on a soft tone as she reached out to her mom's face, her fingers stroke her mom's cheeks that felt so real. They felt... squishy. "Is... is this a trick? H-how... how do I know your real?" questioned Amber, having no idea if this was all but some elaborate illusions meant to mess with her head. Her golden yellow orbs stare into her mom's hazel eyes as she waits awaits her mom's reassurance that it really is her. As she stares at her mom, Amber is oblivious to everyone around her tending to her minor injuries. In all honestly, she had forgotten all about them in the moment.

Chloe let Amber touch her face, and she put her hand over Amber's. She seemed... a lot more together, mentally, than she should have been if this was the kind of teleportation mishap Chloe thought it was. Not that calling the ambulance would be wasted effort. She didn't look good. Where did her horn go?

She realized she was just looking at Amber, mind racing. She needed to say something to ease her fear - and what a weird thing to be afraid of!

"Th-that's a tough question. I probably feel real, at least. And I summoned you back here, like I, like I can do with Ozzy and Nona. So it makes sense that you could end up here." She took Amber's chitinous hand and held it in both of hers. What would she have been going through, to think this was an illusion?

"Has your grandpa..." Chloe hesitated before finishing that sentence. She still didn't know for sure Mikhainon was involved. "I mean... did someone hurt you?"

It was taking all Chloe had to hold it together and carry this conversation. She was so relieved she could cry, so worried she could scream. She was getting upset that someone might have hurt her daughter, and maybe she had spent too much time around Mal, but she wanted to break everything and tear off someone's head.

Dalia saw Amber, broken and scared and stammering. She felt her heart sink as she lost the grip she had on the book she had gotten. Her eyes flitted over her sister, looking at her injuries and the hospital gown that barely covered her.

The spiderling quickly pulled off her own jacket, skittering across the room to her sister's side. She draped the jacket as best she could over Amber's shoulders, giving her sister something, anything more to cover her.
"Amber, it's okay. You're safe now. Aunt Chloe brought you back. I was so..."

There were no words. Dalia hadn't even been back out of juvie a full week when Amber had gone missing. She felt the pang of guilt, sure that it must somehow be her own fault that Amber got taken. That she was in the state she was now.

But there was also relief. A weight pulled off of her chest. Sorrow replaced with joy, but also with anger. Whoever had done this to her sister, they would pay. Pay worse than Argenta. Worse than Nasci. If she had to hunt them down for years to come, she'd make sure of it.

Amber's many eyes began to water, certain that this had to real and the nightmare before was now over. She was overjoyed that the uncertainties of never seeing her family again were now all in the past as she wrapped her little arms around her mom.

"Oh mom! Y-you saved f-from... from whatever... whatever evil plans from what... whatever the mannequin person was." cheered Amber as she squeezes tightly around her mom, now certain that the person in front of her had to be her mom. "I... I was so scared mom... I was so scared..."

As Amber relaxed in her mom'c comfort, she felt something hang her backside. Her head jerk, only to find her sister Dalia placing a jacket on her back.

"D-dalia!" cried out Amber, before realizing that she may have been too loud "Your here? I... am glad to see... I..." Amber found it difficult to speak all of sudden, the words she wanted to say just couldn't come out. She just give her sister sympathetic look and turned to face her mom again.

"M-mom... they... they cut off part of my horn. A-and they... did other did other things l-like... like scraped off my skin and chipped off part of my caraspace but... I'm mostly okey. I-it didnt hurt much... but it was uncomfortable. I-I'm.... I'm glad you got me out before they did anything worse." stated Amber, smiling a little now that she felt safe at last.

Nona backed off - she had already gotten to the most serious wounds she could see - and they weren't all that serious. Except for the horn. that was beyond her power.

Chloe listened to the whole story, trying to piece it together, holding Amber close to her. It quickly became apparent that none of these details had anything to do with anything Chloe knew about. She had no idea why these people had taken Amber, and she was having trouble focusing on putting the pieces together, or caring about them.

Amber was here, wrapped in her mother's shaking arms. Her mother started sobbing. They weren't completely in the clear, yet. They were close, so painfully close, and Chloe was almost too exhausted to do another thing - but she had to be extra sure.

"So, Amber. I... there's a really long story, but, your grandfather is kind of bad. I made him go away, and I thought he might have kidnapped you by, by doing what I just did to save you." She took a deep breath. "I got a bracelet for you to wear. It has a GPS thing in it. Ozzy, could you grab that for us? As long as you have it, I can find you anywhere on the planet.

Ozzy handed it over to them. it looked sort of like a small wristwatch, without the clock face. It was all black; it would blend in with Amber's chitin.

What? Her grandfather? Bad? She would have never suspected as much. Sure he has own particularities and her mom wanted to keep her distance from him as much as possible but he has never done anything bad to her. If anything, the few times they happened to be in the same space he has always been nice to her... even gave her presents too! She even had macaroni art they made in class that she wanted to show him too. Now... it looks like she will never get that chance. This was all very much to take in just after being freed from her kidnappers and in all honestly she is somewhat suspicious of her mom not allowing her to see grandpa. But... with everything going on she just... needed to accept it as it is. Mother knows best... right?

"W-whaa... grandpa Gabe... I..." Amber trailed off, she was at a lose for words for the moment. When her mom showed her the bracelet she wanted to show her, she immediately became apprehensive. It was not even moments that a power restraining bracelet was strapped onto her and she didn't know how to feel about having to put on yet another bracelet.

"I-I... actually... c-can I go outside first?" stuttered Amber as she slowly pushed herself away from her mom and slowly tried to back away from her. She... she wanted to trust her mom but... with everything that she was telling her and what has happened to her... who can she trust? She felt overwhelmed.

"S-sure."

Chloe let her go. She was hitting Amber with too much all at once, getting too excited, too worried. She also noticed the bracelet was stressing her out. That would be something to ask about later, but for now, she could go without it. Whoever had kidnapped her, it wasn't like they could summon her away - they had to be doing something else to kidnap everyone.

"You don't need to wear the bracelet, either. It was just... it would make me feel better. But you don't have to. That's fine." Chloe remembered what it felt like to be a prisoner, in a way. She understood the emotional significance of getting to go outside. "Let's go outside."

Chloe got up. She was going with her, and so were Nona and Ozzy. They weren't going to let her be alone outside after just getting her back. "That ambulance is probably still on the way, But I'm not going to let them take you away if you aren't hurt that badly. We can meet them down there and..." she sighed, "tell them what happened, I guess."

Amber nodded her head eagerly, she wanted to see the sky... just to reassure her that she really was free. Part of her felt was worried that it was all some elaborate thick by the mannequin man to fool her into cooperation. But more and more she was sure that she truly was free. Amber looked back to her sister Dalia in the background. She may not have said anything but her eyes were almost pleading for her to come along with her.

When her mother brought up that she wanted her to wear the bracelet, Amber grimaced a little. She knew that what it was for but... she had just gotten out of one bracelet and she wasn't fond of putting another one on quite yet.

"N-not now... err... maybe later..." muttered Amber made her way out the door, her face lighting up once she could see the sun and sky.

Once Amber was outside on the balcony, she could finally feel relief. She had no idea where she was but she could see that she see all of the city from this view! Everything seemed so small from where she was... though came the question of why she was in some penthouse at the top of skyscraper instead of being at home. Did it have to do with her mom trying to get the both of them away from grandfather? She looked back, hearing the sound of footsteps behind as her mother and her servants joined her. She couldn't pick out Dalia though... maybe she was behind them all? Regardless, when her mom told her about the ambulance, she felt a little uneasy. What... what if the paramedics inside where the same doctors that kidnapped her?

"N-no! Can you... can you tell them off? I'm fine now because of Nona so... so they don't need to come and waste their time." argued Amber, prehaps sounded a bit panicked. She REALLY didn't want be taken away from her family again so soon after being reunited. Plus... she just wanted like... a day for her to process everything. She felt as if her mind was bombarded with thoughts and developments all tangled into a big mess like wet spaghetti.

Dalia saw the fretting and the pleading from her sister and knew she was being asked to follow her out onto the balcony. It had become one of her favorite places to lie in the sun since they moved to this new penthouse. But that wasn't important right now. Dalia looked at her sister and felt a well of emotions spring up inside her.

The fear and worry hadn't quite left yet, but they were slowly being replaced by the relief of seeing her sister alive and mostly whole.
But there was also anger and resentment at the way Amber treated her after the incident with Argenta.

Relief beat all these things out however as Dalia rushed to wrap her arms around Amber.
"I'm so glad you're okay! I'm- I- . . ."

She couldn't get the words out properly. Dalia frowned and held Amber closer.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there to help you. I...I..."

Amber seemed really distressed by the idea of paramedics. Chloe regretted freaking out the way she did, getting Dalia to call an ambulance. She tried to think of a way that she could stop them from coming at this point, then, realizing that she couldn't after some silence, she gave up.

"... I don't think I can tell them off. I thought I hurt you when I brought you here, and I panicked. I have to let them see you at least, but I won't let them get too close to you. or touch you."

Finally, now, Chloe was starting to make connections. Amber was wearing a gown, like a hospital patient. She was scared of paramedics. "Did I just save you from something sort of like a hospital, then?" And they were doing medical tests to her. The people on social media who thought the people who were kidnapped were having tests done on them must have been right.

She remembered chipping her horn. She remembered how painful it had been, just falling over and getting it chipped. Amber's had been cut off entirely. Chloe grabbed on to one of the rails on the balcony, gripping it so tight that her knuckles were white, the rail digging into her skin.
