"This place is quite comfortable. just enough light, not to many people. Hey, it's even quite cool here, must be all that wind between your ears." Maybe a little rude, but Reece was trying to see how far he could go, before this boy eventually reacted.

"Eating chocolate is bad for your health, but people still do that, too." He countered.

"Oh, there's definitely too many people here. One too many," Sam retorted. This probably made Sam come across as if he's looking for a fight. Maybe Sam was. It all depended on what everything boiled down to. The kid had already insulted him, so he had a relatively valid excuse. The insult didn't mean much - It was a piss-poor attempt at an insult if Sam was honest - but it still justified a fight, most likely.

"Don't tell me I didn't warn you when you walk into a tree next time."

It seemed he was getting close to making him angry if that comment was anything to go by. "Yeah, I think I agree with you."

Reece grinned. "At least I'd see the tree before you do." This one might be interesting to see the reaction.

((I'd get slaughtered if I said this IRL))

"Look. I didn't come out here to get into a fight." Sam said, as calmly as possible. He was going to get angry. When he got angry, there was no guarantee on who gets hurt. He didn't actually want people to get hurt. It would also mean that he would get into some deep shit, so there was that. "It would be a smart choice if you decide to find somewhere else to read."

Reece heard the threat, and was honestly a little disappointed, hoping for something else to happen. He was getting himself into deep water, but he didn't care. "So you weren't looking for a fight? Doubt you are actually able to."

He took a step forward and was barely an inch closer. "You're right, this is a much better spot to read." He looked at his book and pretended to dramatically read a few pages.

Sam is done with the kid. Some scrawny little boy thinking that damage could be done with words. Whoever the kid was, the little bastard's run out of warnings, and Sam wasn't exactly known for being the most patient person.

The kid hovered an inch above him. Sam closed his book, set it beside him. In one fluid motion, Sam rose to his full height and slammed his fist up into the kid's jaw. It wasn't a hard blow. He was just trying to warn him, not fracture his jaw or his neck.

"You might want to get some ice on that." He remarked.

Damn, that was a clean blow. Reece saw the power fluctuate, but hadn't any time to react before the fist connected with his chin, sending him flying into the grass.

Bingo. Anger achieved. He grinned, rubbing his jaw. "I was waiting for that to happen. But is that all you got? Some lousy punch? Didn't you come to this island, having some immense power? I did, and I know you do too. I can feel it."

"You're getting me angry because you want something from me," Sam said, trying to make his voice level. The English languageHe was going to fuck some shit up. "I'm getting angry anyways. Because you're a little shit."

Sam quickly calculated a few moves that would not, say, hurt the boy, but definitely, teach him not to mess with him. A left hook, aiming for the bony area between the teeth and the temple (since he didn't want broken teeth or concussion) and a quick move aiming at the back of the knees that sent the kid sprawling into the dirt. Honour taught him to never fight an opponent that was already down.

"You don't know me." Sam said, evenly.

"I'm testing you." He laughed. "To see what it takes. And please, find some better insults." His book lay on the ground, pages sprawled everywhere. He closed the book and placed it on the concrete path neatly. It was from the library, he didn't want it to get ruined.

Standing up, he eyed the boy's power. Regulated. Most of it was withheld, meaning that there had to be much more than just enhanced senses. And he was going to find out, whatever it took.

"You'd be surprised what I can find out. Right now, I can see that you are holding something back." He wiped some blood off his cheek. "Why, is it something that ruined your life? Or are you just above it, thinking that it makes things too easy?"

Sam sighed. He would like to keep fighting this little shit, but he'd probably end up losing control again. Scrawny kids are too fucking easy to hurt. As angry as he is right now, he wasn't a total idiot. He wouldn't risk getting sent back to face the law by some little shit who wanted to see him angry.

He lifted his left hand. His book shot up a couple feet into the air, did several small loops and dropped gently down onto the ground. His sunglasses traveled a short distance from his face then returned to their original spot.

"I can do more, but at that point, I lose control. I don't want that to happen yet. Sorry, you don't get to see the freak show." Sam said, bitterly.
