9:00 pm, Three days out from Manta Carlos port.

Haru was sitting on the port side of the large cargo ship with her usual attire on. Well, it was her newer usual attire as her suit and tie didn't really fit this job. A black body armor adorned her body along with a basic patch holding the symbol of her company. At her waist were the standard issue gear most of her employees had, a pistol, combat knife, and other pieces such as a radio and basic meds. Of course, she also had her primary weapon of choice the M16; an American made weapon that seemed to be in abundance on the market. She frowned at the gun leaning against the metal wall and inspected it a bit more closely. The quality was good but the price wasn't as good as she had liked. She would defiantly need a better supplier soon if she wanted to profit more noticeably.

That is what today's....or this weeks job had been about, profit. They had filled a contract to defend several cargo ships pulling into Manta Carlos from Japans port in Tokyo. Everything was adorned in the foreign language and most, if not all of the crew manning it were of Japanese descent it seemed. A few BlackThorn guards passed by her wearing their Balaclavas and gear with utter professionalism.

A small nod was given to their CEO as they continued their rounds. They had been informed that a lot of the wares on the boat were valuable and as such Haru made sure to offer the appropriate amount of guards. Looking down from the railing she found herself sitting on she watched as the large ship distorted the water and made ripples in the waves. She would've enjoyed the glisten of the moon on the water also if the countless containers didn't block it at her angle.

"Just three more days and I'll be able to sleep on my bed again..."

The more things change, the more they stay the same as they say. The location and choice of weapons were different, but ultimately he'd seen this situation a thousand times over. A powerful lord or noble needs some extra muscle so he hires mercenaries, the security firm he'd joined didn't use that term, but they still defended people for gold.

So, he wore his unform and carried the gun, the weapons of this proved easy enough to use and he had his blades on him if needed. So he'd walk his patrols around the ship, his eyes occasionally turning reptile like as his night vision kicked in. Corvo was an odd creature, half dragon but with no dragon form, but he was lethal all the same.

He turned the corner around the ship, sniffing the air, searching for any scents that shouldn't be there. As they neared port more and more scents were added to the air, he nodded to Haru as he approached the rail and looked over. "I lived on a ship most of my life," he smiled a bit, "though my ship could fly."

Corvo, that was the man's name that popped up when she looked at the face of her new guest. He seemed like a decent man from the file she had read on him. Being hired out to Ms.Arlnest made it hard for her to oversee every interview of new prospects but she made sure to keep an eye on everyone she would be sent into a war zone. He wore the same attire as her mostly though he seemed to have more martial bladed weapons at his side than her combat knife. That was in the file also. Many of the employee's workings had come from previous fields. Some were more good in nature while others could be considered evil. A few pirates had joined her ranks...well ex-pirates but they still maintained their skills of the privateer life.

"I never lived on a ship but I've been on a few quiet many times.....and yes they flew too."

she giggled at Corvo leaning toward him as she spoke.

"While the ships here may not fly the order of operations remains the same for us. I can only hope that we get better contracts after this."

Haru stopped talking as the loud horn of the boat went off signalling to the crew of changing shifts. It didn't concern them as they were the night shift for security and many of the other the day shift security members would be down below deck by now.

"I'm still relatively new to this world," his sharp eyes scanned over everything, he liked to thorough when patrolling, if he saw everything then he'd know if something was wrong, "but if the lords here work the same, then us doing a good job should award us better work in the future."

The horn went off, the changing of the guard, or in this case, crew. Corvo immediately went on alert, even most of the others didn't give it much thought. Corvo on the other hand knew to be alert, changing crew members, shifting faces, it was a good chance for someone who didn't belong to slip on or attack. Corvo knew this, because he'd done it to his own enemies in the past.

His nose twitched again as the scents started to shift and move. A lot of people, difficult to keep track of, even with his enhanced scenes, he tilted his head as his sharp ears picked up the sounds. He wanted to know if something was off.

Haru watched as a few crew workers passed by them. She recognized them well enough to not bat an eye as to where they were going, but she still felt the need to check on the number of people on the boat. One of the first details she required from the moving company was the number of employees. Haru held up her hand to Corvo for a second while her eyes glowed a bright yellow. She could see the layout of the whole ship and the number of people moving around. A large mass was in the mess room getting lunch.Others seemed to be hanging out with friends and fooling around. Haru was pleased to see all her members were together securing their weapons and getting some needed rest, no foolery.

The ship rushed into the water and filled the air with a loud *ssssh* noise. On the ship, a few people were messing around in the large containers of equipment and antiques. Haru took notice of this and her eyes grew more serious as she continued to look over the ship. Next was the engine room where she noticed more than the usual amount of crew members were down there she had met before.

Corvo would certainly hear the rummaging of men in the cargo crates and the movement of running through the rows of crates as people seemed to flow out of a few crates.

"There is movement in the engine room." She didn't spare a glance to Corvo as she scooped up her gun and radioed the men in the lower decks to check the anomaly. " I was hoping this would be a smooth ride." she patted Corvo on the shoulder and pulled her balaclava up over her face.

"Do you hear anything?"
