Cardamon was hyper-aware of his surroundings as he walked. This part of the forest wasnt too overgrown, and for the most part the path was clear. But at the same time, there were some trees whos roots had grown a bit too much, whose branches hovered a little bit too low. He had to watch out for those--one wrong step and he'd be shattered all over the ground.

He stepped over a log carefully, holding his bag close to his body--in front of himself as though it could protect him from shattering on the ground.

If the forest wasn't such a good place for inspiration then he would never come here, like ever. It was too unpredictable, too dangerous, and it spelled death from him in big neon letters the likes of which he'd never seen before, and likely would never see again. He loved its atmosphere, even as he intensely hated everything else about it.

One foot in front of the other, as his glass body shimmered in the light, sunlight refracting and spreading rainbows around him in an arc.

CRAWW!

"What the fuck?"

CRAWWWW!"

That sound sent a shiver down his spine. He barely had time to look up before a horrid mass of feathers and talons was on him, scratching and flapping as it tried to get a hold on him. The bird was huge, probably the size of a truck, with talons bigger than his arm. All he could do was yell and flail and pray this asshole bird didn't start pecking at him. "Ahhhh!! Help help HELP!"

No sooner had the glass boy called out, something hooked the beast around its neck and slammed it into a tree along the path, which shattered and collapsed away from the path. This 'something' was a crimson haired boy, standing over the bird. The bird shook and twitched for a bit before quickly collecting itself and flying off. The boy stopped and looked at the stump he had created and let out a sigh.
"Gotta stop doing that..." He mumbled to himself before turning back around to Cardamon.
"Are you alright?" He asked with a smile. "That thing shouldn't be bothering you any time soon."

'So this is how I die...' thought Cardamon, as the bird thrashed overhead. No sooner than that thought been completed, did something slam into the bird above his head. It was red and fast, and he was just generally not quite sure of what just happened. One thing was for sure thought: Cardamon absolutely, positively hated birds. Birds were assholes.

He got a good look at the guy who helped him. Couldn't have been older than seventeen, but still dwarfed him by a couple inches. God damn it. Why did people have to get taller with time?

"Oh.... uh, yeah, I'm okay." Cardamon ran his fingers through the stiff hair on the top of his head, twirling one of the tufts near his ear around his finger. "Thanks for that, I guess."

"No problem at all." He replied with a smile before pausing to examine the shiny glass boy.
"No wonder they came after you though. The beasties like the shiny... Um..." Lance hesitated. He now had questions but... Was it rude to ask? He'd gotten used to things around here, so most things didn't really surprise him. Still, this was new, and he was curious. Was this some kind of crystal person?
