Biology Class

Klay leaned back as the teacher lifted up a tank of frogs. She shrugged to her 'partner'. As the teacher started to carry the tank around and let each person take a frog, he continued to blab on about lab safety and wearing goggles and things like that. Klay rolled her eyes and took a frog when he came to their table. She placed it down on the lab tray, and since she had done this many times before, she would leave the cutting to the over-excited boy next to her.

Ivan grinned. The feral quality of his eyes intensified as the color changed from yellow to green. A few whiskers sprouted from his cheeks. Short black fur sprouted from his skin. His teeth elongated into fangs and his finger and toenails became claws. He lifted the knife--an object he was perhaps too familiar with--and with surgical precision and great speed he skinned the front of the amphibian's gut. His skin, eyes, teeth, cheeks, and nails returned to normal as he set the knife down. He smiled at his partner, glad that she had allowed him to slice the skin from the frog's gut.

Klay rolled her eyes as her partner changed and changed back. In her opinion, Klay thought some people showed of their power too much. But, she listened to the teacher start explaining which organs did what, and in very detailed discriptions, told them what to do by demonstrating on his frog.

Ivan poked at the organs with the knife. He was slightly interested in this particular subject, unlike the other subjects he had been enrolled in. For the time being, at least, this was his favorite class.

Klay looked at the board, clearly bored at this subject. Though, she knew her partner obviously liked it, even if only a little. She rolled her eyes as the teacher looked over his students. Her eyes rolled over the other students. Most had already cut their's open, but were gagging.

As much fun as poking organs was, Ivan quickly became bored. He yawned loudly, not caring if he provoked the teacher. He considered changing into a flea and leaving, but thought better of it.

Klay's eyes moved to her partner, looking him over. He yawned loudly, and Klay laughed in her head.
"Oh, these are the moments I wish could fiddle with a dagger or somewhat."
She said, knowing she had at least three on her now, but probably had more in her pockets.

Ivan considered changing into a flea and heading for the door. The teacher probably wouldn't notice that he was gone anyway. Before he left, he wanted to at least talk to the girl he was sitting next to. "You give me a funny feeling. Like the feeling I get standing in the middle of a graveyard." Ivan said, his voice now devoid of emotion. "I'm not sure if it's the silence or the overwhelming feeling of death."
