Binomial Operation

Jamie isn't used to this place.

He wasn't really sure what he was supposed to be doing. He knew what to do in class if he was teaching. That was easy. He knew maths. He can teach people maths. It was simple. But now he has spare time and he's never really had spare time before, so he isn't so sure what to do with that. The school had lots of electronics. But not any of them were new or anything Jamie hadn't seen before. Computers, phones, heating and lighting systems, the sort of stuff the facility already had. He had already walked around the campus at least 10 times. And he was a little afraid to go anywhere further, or into town where there were definitely even more new people.

For now he sat under a tree and switched his sight from camera to camera, familiarising him with the ways he could see here. The electronics he could sense remained constant.

He was looking through one of the many webcams on the library computers when a group of electronics - much more than just a computer, this was something much more complicated and nothing like what he's seen before - entered into his aura. Was this normal?

He switched to the camera around his neck. If this weird complicated machine was near him, he wanted to find out.

This was new. His camera told him that what he was looking at was a young woman, dark-haired, pale skin, unnaturally bright-eyed, of average height and average build. Someone he probably could subdue, but there was no telling what he might be facing. Judging appearances only worked about 6 times out of 10. What he could sense were about some 2 hundred electronic devices masquerading in the rough shape of a girl. Some interconnected, huge circuit on a level Jamie has never seen before except maybe in those pictures online of huge laboratories, but this was so compact...

She- It- whatever- was the coolest thing Jamie's ever seen.

Oh. He's been staring. Or at least she'd noticed that he's been looking at him, which is weird since most people assume that he sees out of his eyes and his eyes weren't moving. She isn't most people, then. (jamie are you daft she's made of electronics, of course she isn't most people)

"Hi," He said, in her vague direction, then adds a wave for good measure.

Okay. So the greeting had worked. Now she was looking at him, through the camera, except she didn't look happy. Had he made a mistake? Jamie turned his head in the direction that was (probably) correct and tried to smile. She was really all electric. This was disorienting. She looked just like a real girl, or maybe Jamie was wrong about how real girls looked?

It's all very confusing.

"You're right. I'm not an assassin." That was (maybe?) a (white?) lie. Jamie knew that he's been trained to work as something like an assassin, maybe not exactly an assassin but close enough. But he didn't want to kill the girl. She was nice. Or at least she talked to him and didn't hit him, which was nice. He smiled again because that's what you're supposed to do meeting new people. Smile. "How come you're electric but you look like a girl?"

Ex-Terminus Corporation Black Ops Android. Jamie mulled those words over in his head, frowned, and realised that he understood all of them separately, but combined they stopped making sense. He wanted to ask about it, but the girl didn't seem to like him very much, so he won't. It might be considered as impolite. Maybe she was a Project, like him. That would make the most sense.

"I'm not an organic. But I think I might be ignorant if we're using the common definition of that word." Jamie said, quite seriously. He didn't consider ignorant as an insulting word. It's true that he doesn't know much about the world. "I'm interested in you because you're the most complex and advanced piece of... technology I've seen."

"I look organic. My brain's organic. I have skin. Everything under that, well, not organic. If you're a sensor like me you'd know," Jamie said, curtly. The girl was glaring at him. She didn't like him. He glared back, then, because he wasn't sure what else to do, focusing his eyes on what he hoped was in the right direction. "You're not property. I acknowledge that. But you're still electric. Maybe not simple bits and bolt, no, you're more sophisticated than that, but electric all the same."

Jamie let what the girl said run through his brain. Creator. That would mean she was made. Like him, kind of, except creator implied that she was made from scratch. Created.

Fascinating.

The girl gripped the table, then, and Jamie instinctively recoiled back, putting one hand forward to protect himself. The other hand reached for his holster only to realise that he didn't have any weapons on him - all of the weapons were back at the facility. "I'm interested in your tech because you're more advanced than me and I want to know more. I don't mean any harm. Promise."
