hair;; Her dark russet hair is long, generously curly, and rather frizzy. She takes very good care of it, though the slightest bit of humidity will poof it up. On occasion, she runs Kool-Aid dye through it to give it slight color. Oh, and sometimes she'll straighten it, but then it ends up being close to her behind when it usually comes to her mid back.
eyes;; For some strange reason, Pollyanna's chocolate brown eyes lack pupils and therefore her eyes come off as more doll-like and alien-esque.

-EVERYDAY: Pollyanna enjoys baggy sweaters, cute t-shirts, character hoodies, colored shorts, printed skirts and a practical rainbow array of flip flops and Converse. Oh, and in her mind, winter does exist. Don't expect to find her in pants without it being totally necessary (but fun colored tights are A-OK!).

Personality
personality;; Pollyanna seems to tread the fine line of almost everything. She treads the fine line of being shy and outgoing. She treads the fine line of having a good head on her shoulders and having her mind bit in the clouds. She treads the fine line of being a born and bred human and a complete wild animal. To say that Pollyanna is the middle ground of a lot of defining characteristics is a complete understatement. That's because that when they were making her, they didn't make her quite right. She's a fluke in accordance to her experimental plan, a real mess up. Her mind is wired quite differently due to her experimental nature. It takes her awhile to learn something and is thus in the lowest classes at the academy. She's not dumb, heavens no. She just takes the world in quite the curious stride. So, what exactly is she?

Well, as her name implies, Pollyanna does possess a good dosage of optimism. Her curiosity for even the simplest of things and her passion for bright colors have led her to be quite the spontaneous dreamy girl. She loves to thing big and plan grandiose visions. She's easily excitable, but in the most mellow way possible. While she can rant and rave, she does so out of easily created passion for something. She is rather interested in the ideas of others as well, honestly preferring that over being open with what she would like to say. In a sense, she's a girl of few words, but enjoys human experience in making friends. When others around her are happy, she's happy. Her strong point is empathy, for she can easier understand those who are expressive in heart than in raw brain power. She also appreciates a good laugh too, and when she does feel like talking she likes to give one out. Her morals however are a bit screwed up. Sure, she knows basic good or bad, but whether or not something is appropriate takes her awhile to learn. This again is her animalistic side, which can lead to accidental rudeness or immature tendencies. From both this and her eccentric sense of creativity, she's somewhat of the school's 'weird girl'. But she doesn't mind bullying or threats honestly. And this isn't just because of her nonchalance. She sees them as ways to improve herself, and knows that all criticism is good criticism.

After all, she wants to be a human. And what human can't recognize their flaws?

-PRIMITIVE SCOLDINGS: She doesn't care about bullying, but a 'No Pollyanna' or 'Bad Girl' makes her realize that she's being treated like an animal.

-LOSING HER THOUGHTS: Her 'gift' has led her susceptible to reversion and memory slips. It works against her thoughts and personality and is one of the things that honestly scares her.

-REVERSE MUTATION- MAKING A BAT HUMAN: Pollyanna is not a real person. She was created by a crossbreed of a California Leaf Nosed Bat and a Golden-Headed Flying Fox, infused overtime with the DNA of a deceased child. She's lost all memory of being her true form, and possesses an overall human appearance. That is, until she can adopt her bat features. Effortlessly she can make her snout, oddly shapes nose, fine brown fluffy fur, large floppy ears, hind paws, tail, and wings appear in a blink of an eye. She can appear about 70/30 on the human/animal ratio and appears to be anthropomorphic if she so chooses to bring out all her features. In this form, her body is most comfortable. She also adopts certain features of her original animal, including:
-ECHOLOCATION: Though not a trait of the megabat, the microbat side of her has the ability to squeak and relay back information of the world around her in her large ears. It is helpful in the dark or on objects somewhat far away.
-FLIGHT: Her wings, when apparent, are attached to her arms and on her sides like a real bat. After much practice and training, she can now fly quite proficiently.
full mutation appearance description;;
Pollyanna's tanned skin becomes covered in chestnut colored fine hair that is thicker in the areas on her chest. In an ombre fashion it turns black on her newly formed, four inch long snout. From it comes her microbat inspired, leaf shaped, pink nose; which boasts excellent smell. Her normal human ears can become obnoxiously large and easy to pose, growing a little under a foot from the sides of her head. Small teeth become pointy fangs, but of course she does't bite. Feet become hind paws, and it is easier for her to walk on the pads of her toes (though this isn't necessary). A rather long, slender tail that goes just before her ankles ends in a slight curl and sway lightly. One of her most distinctive features is of course the black wings that absorb her arms and hands. Its span stretches to seven feet across but are only so useful for flight... Then again, she hasn't really tried that much either.

-WINGS: Her hands become infused in them if she makes them appear. Unless she desires to use her newly elongated fingers purposed for flight, her hands are useless.

birthplace;; With all the screwed up origins she possesses, she doesn't know where she's really from. All she knows is that she grew up in an orphanage's basement in France. She only knows bits and pieces and doesn't have the accent of the language, however.
history;; Since the 1950's, Blossomforth House for Homeless Children has been giving orphaned children the opportunity to live in lavish conditions at a beautiful mansion in the French countryside. From the outside, this house seems to be the perfect foster home for those in need, as it does present itself as a hundred acre utopia. But what the children do not know is that its forbidden access basement holds terribly dark secrets. Over time, children residing in the mansion started to disappear. But the large population of the house allowed the frequent disappearances of the residents to go unnoticed. And with the in-house abduction of a poor five-year-old girl came in the story of Pollyanna.
One of the secret facility's ideas was to take experiment whether it was possible to bring back life through the means of transferring it to another. If enough DNA is retained, is it possible to mutate one creature to fully become a once existing life form? Well, the purposeful murder of a young child would put this hypothesis to test. With all of her structure intact, a genetic engineer was going to mold a smaller mammal into a full on human- conveniently, this test would be utilized with a reject bat hybrid from another facility across the globe. Over the course of three years the bat went under excruciating pain to become human once more, losing most of its instincts and memory along the way to adopt the girl' former persona. With the black market worthy technology granted to him, the engineer was able to properly restore the girl's entire entity, from her creative personality to core looks in almost pure perfection.

But of course, something went terribly wrong.

When the girl was 75% completed, a glitch occurred in both the memory transfer and body restoration. The girl was back! But why would her feet suddenly shift to paws? Why would her ears mutate? Her pearly whites become jagged fangs? And why did she act so... Bizarrely?

Before the scientist had a chance to abandon the poor girl, a raid of the house was performed by government agents to destroy everything and rescue the children. Except for Pollyanna. When the house was evacuated, the girl was still left in her cage where nobody saw her. It was only when the house was scheduled to be destroyed a few weeks later when she was found by a kind man, recently widowed and without children. Pollyanna was quickly adopted and taken care of, given suburban housing and a school not too far after.

Unfortunately, within a few weeks of the adoption Pollyanna was quickly discovered to be different. When she morphed for the first time her new father was horrified, seeing his new daughter as more of a monster than child. She was taken out of school and confined to home, and inexperienced teaching led to her being a bit too far back developmentally. Her father still loved her, but clearly kept his distance. She was granted art supplies and a ukulele to keep her 'too busy' to shift or act 'weird'. Life stayed this way with her in hiding until she was seventeen, when she received an invitation to Starlight Academy for a better opportunity for herself to grow as not a freak but an actual person. She has been there since.
