"Caa-oohff-oohff-oohff-oohhhfff!" coughed Amber as she wheezed into her arm. She let out weak groan as she roll over to the other side of her bed. A lot of people were had recently gotten sick since the party she had attended that was ironically about anti-disease preventative measures. She couldn't really appreciate the humor of the situation as she so terriably sick. Both of her mom's and her sister Dalia were sick as well, Pheadra and Ossa were apparently okey but with how bad Amber has gotten, it was thought it was best that her mom Chloe looked over her for awhile in her family manor so that she doesn't infect her sisters.

For now, she was kept more or less confined to her room as she tries rest. A rest that proved nearly impossible as she was either coughing or clutching her tummy as it makes knots inside of her. It wasn't all so bad though... at least she had TV in her to watch Disney movies, right now she was watching the one called The Black Cauldron. It was a bit more darker and gritter than she was used to but she was liking it so far. To bad the stomach aches and couching prevented her from truly appreciating the film.

"Ca-offh... ack... ack.. ughh... mhmmmfmmm..." groan and whimpered Amber as clutches her hands over her stomach and curls her spider-like body into a fetal position.

At least Chloe had the energy to help take care of Amber. She knocked on the door to Amber's room twice, then came in with a tray. "I got chicken noodle soup for us." The tray had two bowls of soup, two glasses of water, two spoons, and crackers. "My parents - the people who raised me I mean - they used to make this for me whenever I'd get sick. It's supposed to be really good for sick people."

She took her own soup and water off the tray, setting it down on the floor next to Amber's bed. Amber's water went on her bedside table. Chloe made sure Amber could sit upright before sitting down in a chair next to her - this way they could enjoy the movie together.

"It can't hurt to try," Chloe added. "Nona's out getting something for the pain and the cough. I hope she remembers what I told her about how money works." Before Nona left, Chloe had to explain to her the concept of currency. The conversation did not inspire confidence in Chloe, but Nona was the health expert, and she knew better than anyone what medications they needed.

Amber let out a weak cough before looking up to mom, putting on smile just for her as she was given an offering of warm soup.

"T-thanks mom... your... best" wheezed Amber, all of the coughing had made her throat all dry and sore. Still, she had the strength enough to take her tray and set it in front of her so that she could comfortably take spoonfuls of soup. As she eats her soup her attention goes back to the movie they were watching. Amber could only half remember the details about the plot so far. Something about a magic pig that was kidnapped by scary horned skeleton his minions. So the farmboy goes off to the save the pig and err... meets a bunch of people and goes off to find a evil pot of sorts. Right now now it looked like the boy and princess... duchess... some girl were about to kiss... maybe... nope no kiss.

When her mom told that Nona was getting medication, she just nodded her head for it was too tiring to talk. Amber personally like Nora, she treats her affectionately whenever she was staying at her mother's place. She was always a bit wet... as if she had gotten out of the shower but it wasn't all that weird in this household.

As the movie progress, the boy and his friends where captured by stereotypical viking raider guys and taken back to the horned skeleton's castle. Amber went for a soup bite but ended having to set it down as she violently started couching again. Once the fit was over, she reach out over for her water, something to parch her dry throat. Amber would look pretty disgruntled at this moment.

Seeing Amber cough violently, Chloe leaned in and held the tray in place, making sure it didn't fall over. The last thing they needed was some soup-soiled sheets to clean up, or to bring Amber into a different room while someone changed the sheets.

"How do you like the movie so far? I've never seen this one."

Keeping Amber distracted from being sick, Chloe thought, might be the best way to try to keep her happy. Or at least happier than she would be otherwise. Chloe wished she could focus on the movie, herself. Her mind kept wandering. She was so restless! She wanted to go running or something, but she knew that would be bad for her.

"Hrmm... I guess I like it..." stated Amber though she was unsure if that was true or not. While she expected it to be much like all of the other Disney movies but it had sort of dark tone tone it. Didn't make it bad... just different. Its sort of like biting into what you thought was pastry with strawberry filling but end up with chocolate filling instead. They are both good but you were kind of in the mode for strawberry pastries. Maybe she would have liked the film more if she was paying more attention to it. She was only really watching it so that she didn't have to think about whatever strange contortions her bowels would make.

Amber watched the film for a bit, then goes to a few gingerly spoonful of soup. Not too hot and not too cold... just at the perfect temperature being bearable in temperature to not burn her mouth. Just eating the soup made her feel just a bit better.

"What about you mom? You just as sick as me too." commented Amber turned to face her mom. It was charming that Chloe to mother her but... Amber didn't want her mom to over-exert herself.

Chloe slurped up soup. Her leg shook with nervous energy, and she could barely focus on the movie. She started to wonder - maybe they could get a room for breaking stuff, like the Rosales had? That way she and Ozzy could just jam out and and break stuff. They just needed to think up some good stuff to break. And which room would they -

Amber was asking her a question.

"Well, we have the same virus I think, but I'm well enough to get up and make soup and stuff. It's hard for me to focus on the movie though. Sorry, what was the question again? What about me?"

She immediately felt bad for not paying closer attention.

Amber blinked with all 6 of her eyes, her mom seemed a little out of it. Granted her mom was probably just as sick as her but... maybe it was nothing. Amber just shrugged it off as a temporary lapse in thought.

"Juuust... just wondering how you are feel is all. Your sick as well silly~ Ha ha ha... ha... ohhh... owww... headaches..."

Amber brings her hands to head and starts rubbing her skull to try to relieve herself of the head pains. It was more irritating than it was painful... Amber was tired of how much this virus was making her head hurt.

"Hmmrmmmm!" groaned Amber

She could feel Amber's pain in her heart. She froze for a moment, trying to think of something, anything, to make this better.

"I'm fine. How long ago did I give you those headache pills?" They weren't magic pills, so they wouldn't be as effective as what Nona was getting, but Chloe needed to do something useful.

Even though she shrugged Amber off, she wasn't exactly fine. She had a bit of a headache too, but not one that would make her groan in pain. This sore throat was going to drive her crazy.

"Huuhhhh... I dunno..." mummbled Amber as she tried to recall how long ago it was she took those pills "... an hour ago... mayyyybe?" Amber was unsure, it was difficult to keep track of time while under the influence of a headache. She pushed the try of soup away from her and flopped herself on her mother's lap.

"I hate this... this SUCKS!" complained Amber as she pressed her hands on the side of her head "I hate being sick! How much longer am I going to suffer like this?"

After her headache subsided, Amber nuzzled herself on her mother, using her mom's thighs as pillows to rest her on. Her thoughts dwelled on if she was going to miss school and how her siblings at home where fairing. She could only hope that Pheadra and Ossa remained unscathed amidst the pandemic.

Only an hour? That wasn't long enough for Amber to be ready for another dose. They would just need to wait for Nona, then. Chloe moved her soup out of the way to make room for her daughter, then she ran her fingers through Amber's hair.

"I wish I knew," Chloe said. "Nobody's ever had this disease before, as far as we know. So we don't know how long it'll take. I hope it ends soon too."

It could be that it was terminal. It could be that they were both going to die. Chloe didn't want to tell Amber these things, though. She tried to tell herself that her father wouldn't let that happen - but what would him preventing it look like? Dragging them into hell? Ripping Chloe's humanity from her before she was ready for that? She didn't want to think about that too much.

"But, on the bright side, we get time off from school! I'm sure Dalia's excited for that. And you can read stuff for fun instead of doing homework."

Honestly, those things were probably more exciting for Chloe than for Amber. Amber might still actually like school. She might not have been alive long enough to feel the kinds of stress Chloe felt in her college classes - even if Chloe liked those subjects, it was still college coursework.
