The past year or so had been a bit of a whirlwind for Vanessa and her new family. Her pregnancy had come as a bit of an unexpected surprise, but had continued without much incident, except for the second surprise that she had been carrying twins. Both children were born healthy - a boy and a girl which they named Amal and Christine, respectively. There had been some sleepless nights, but mostly the babies were quiet, happy angels.

Nessie was enjoying her new life. She and Edward were still planning their wedding, which was coming along nicely. She was still painting when she found the time, and she still worked with the modeling agency. Edward was a very helpful and loving father. Things couldn't have been better at present.

The weather was getting cooler, but it was still nice enough outside for Nessie and Edward to take a late afternoon stroll through the park. Nessie settled Christine and Amal in their pram to bring them along for some time outdoors. The couple chatted telepathically as they walked.

Getting colder, she commented as she reached down to re-tuck Christine's blanket. I like it when the leaves change color, though.

So much had changed for the cat shifter, he was now engaged to a beautiful woman, with a pair and adorable twins. In a year he'd gone from a broken cat to a father and soon to be husband. Edward had his arm around Nessie as they walked, their minds linked as always, allowing them to carry out a silent conversation.

"Yeah it's getting cold fast," he'd grown up in a rather warm climate, winter happened but it didn't bring snow or anything like that, "some of the leaves remind me of your hair, though not as pretty." He'd give her waist a gentle squeeze, not that he was particularly strong, he was tall and thin, not a muscular being by any means.

He'd smile, "soon we'll have snow to deal with, don't worry though, I'll keep you warm," he'd chuckle a little, they were a decently wealthy family, so there was no fear of the house getting cold. His cat tail would swing around and wiggle in front of the twins, they'd giggle and playfully grab at it.
