Naleren Brea Saneksi walked through the woods alone. A black panther walked beside her. She was humming a melody that was beautiful. She soon stoped and stood there silent nothing could be heard but the sound of leaves and her breathing and that of her panther's.

"Mother? Father? Why did you leave me and brother and sister, why?" Naleren mumbled to herself looking up at the blue sky closing her eyes, arms out stretched and hair blowing in her face. She was a beautiful scene standing there. There were breads and beads in her hair and her pointed ears went through her hair, earrings went up her ears. She stood there not moving, thoughts swarmed through her head as she seemed to wait for something.

Tharion was moving silently through the woods when he heard someone muble something. He turned and saw, through the brush, a girl and a panther. Tharion knelt down next to a tree and whispered to it. "What is a panther doing here." He slowly made his way closer, keeping close to the earth and trusting it to keep him idden from sight.

Midnight the black sniffed the air then turned his head to the brush. He let out a gworl and Naleren looked at the panther and said in a beautiful voice.

"What is it, Midnight? Is someong there?" She asked the panther and Midnight nodded his head. Naleren loved speaking to animals, thats whyu her family owns them. Naleren turned her head to the brush were Midnight heard something.

"You can come out now. Midnight won't bite, would you Midnight?" She said and the panther just nodded.

Tharion was surprised when he saw her speak to the panther, and the panther respond. He quickly saw that this was no enemy of the forest, and he stood emerging from a place in the brush where it looked like no one could hide. He looked at her and asked. "You speak to animals?"

"Anyone can speak to animals if they try too." Naleren Said smiling watching the boy. "I'm Naleren, this is Midnight, my panther that I got when I was thirteen, my parents gave him to me, his never had training to be a pet either." She said extending her hand to the boy.

Tharion looked at her hand warily, then shook it. "True, anyone can talk to animals, but few choose to listen."

Naleren smiled more then asked, "my I have your name?" She said patting her panther on the head.

"Tharion Macar" he said, still a bit quiet. "I'm sort of new to the school, but I spend most my time in the forest and such." He looked at the panther. "I cannot speak with animals. I speak to the earth and its many plants...." He trailed off, still looking at the Midnight.

"You sound like my brother. He has powers of plants." She said. "And he's like me, he has a pet wolf but he can't talk to it but he still has one." She whispered and stoped patting Midnight and folded her arms. "I have many powers, I can heal animals and shape change into them." She said smiling.

"Thats quite a power" Tharion said. "I can only ask the earth to do things for me."
