Étoile waited politely in the lobby of Crown Modelling, wide eyed at the elegant beauty in the style of the building itself. Standing there, even just in her Starlight Academy uniform, the star didn't look out of place in the slightest. The way she leaned slightly onto her toes, gold hair spilling down her back as she examined a picture on the wall, was almost picturesque itself.

Dorian Crawford himself was going to give her a private tour of Crown Modelling. Étoile was so excited for this, and was counting the seconds until he would arrive in the lobby. She may have gotten here a little too early, but Dorian wouldn't mind, would he? Étoile was fine waiting for him in the lobby, curiously flighting about from room accent to room accent like a little bird.

Etoile wasn't early so much as Dorian running a little bit late, really. When he said he was going to show her around, he meant it. He cleared an entire spot in today's schedule to show her around, but his assistant kept insisting on one thing after another.

"Mr. Crawford, Mr. Chao has a call with you in 30 minutes!"

"Bloody hell, Chao is a secondary investor. I don't give a damn. Put him on hold."

"Mr. Crawford —"

Dorian clapped her on the shoulders. "Do I or do I not have a 1pm?"

She nodded sheepishly. "I'll take care of it, Mr. Crawford."

He smiled at her. "Good girl."

They turned towards the main lobby, and Dorian practically jumped at seeing Etoile. "Etoile! You're early!"

"Mr. Crawford, it's 1:10pm."

He just made a face at that. "Huh. Alright, then. Thanks, Karen, I'll talk to you later." He waved her off, then went over to Etoile. "Etoile! So glad to see you here."

Étoile turned at the sound of Dorian's voice, face lit up with a brilliantly stunning smile.

"I did come a bit early. I didn't want to get lost and I've been looking forward to this for days."

As his assistant turned and left Étoile happily skipped up to Dorian, tightly wrapping her arms around him. It was definitely unproffessional, and perhaps unexpected but Logan gave the best hugs and Dorian alway smelled really really nice.

"Will I get to see you doing a photoshoot Dorian? Is Logan here today? How do you come up with the designs? Do you make the clothes or does someone else? How do you avoid making something too similar to someone else's design?"

Dorian welcomed the hug with open arms, giving her a tight squeeze before letting her go. Truth be told, Etoile had a tendency to be clingy and skittish, but Dorian liked her. He definitely considered her a friend, if a younger one that needed his protection. He ruffled her hair a bit.

"Of course! There's always photoshoots going on in the building, for portfolios, art pieces, magazines, catalogs, runway events. There's a few going on for our winter line, actually." He nodded. "Logan isn't scheduled here today, no. Sad. But! I can take you to the designer rooms, where some of our designers sketch out and plan the clothes for the runway."

Dorian gestured for her to follow him as he walked towards the elevator, hitting floor nine. "I'm a part-time designer, which means I draw concept sketches of clothes. I have other people make them. There's this whole process to it. As for avoiding similar things with other companies, well, we have a research team for that."

The elevator stopped with a ding. Dorian led her to a floor with a lot of offices. He went into one in particular. There was a bunch of tables and a few long ones. On the wall were drawn concept art of outfits. There were a few people here and there, drawing on sketchpads and coloring with charcoals, pastels or watercolors. "This is where the designers make concepts for MUSE brand clothing. Right now, they're getting a head start for Spring 2017. Take a look." He took a drawing of a lovely floral sundress taped to the wall and showed Etoile.

Etoile giggled happily, fixing her hairafter it had been ruffled. Not that it really needed it. Almost every strand seemed to naturally just fall back into place. Unnaturally perfect, but still beautiful.

"Aww. Maybe I'll just have to come back agian someday to watch him at work."

The star certainly wasn't disappointed long, happily following Dorian as he led her into the depths of the modelling company, where all the magic happened. She was absolutely smitten with Dorian, eyes sparkling with her excitement. It was, perhaps, a little noticeable in her entire appearance as her aura of cheer radiated outwards like the warmth of a fire. When they arrived at the office, Etoile oohed and aahed at every single one of the drawings, fawning over the beauty of every single one of the designs

"Which ones did you draw? Are you going to wear any of these or are they all just for show?"

Etoile took the picture of the sundress from Dorian and gently placed it back on the wall after memorising every little detail.

"Could I wear one of these someday? They're all so pretty... Humans create such beautiful things. I wish I could stay forever."

At her question, Dorian walked over to the archives and pulled out an organizer with the label 'Crawford'. There were several binders inside, each labeled with a date and a collection title. He pulled one labeled 'Divinity and Decadence' and offered it to Etoile. The designs were composed of elegant silhouettes accentuated with gold. "These are the ones I've designed. Most of the binders are completed ones, so there are real pictures of the dresses next to the finished ones."

Dorian smiled softly, endeared by her enthusiasm. "You wanna try some out? We've got the winter collection ready to go downstairs. It wouldn't hurt if you wore some of them for a bit as long as you promise you wouldn't tear up or stain any of them."

Etoile watched curiously as Dorian left her to search a series of files and binders, tiptoeing closer like she the folders were deep, dark secrets that only Dorian could see. Divinity and Decadence. The name was beautiful, but the designs inside were breathtaking.

"They're beautiful..."

Slowly, a tear slipped down Etoile's cheek. Followed by another. And another. She had to close the binder and put it away to avoid getting any on the drawings. It was fine. She was fine. There was nothing wrong, and she wiped her face, smiling at Dorian while she said so. Dorian didn't need her sorrows. He needed her cheerful smile and childish excitement. That's what she was here for, right? She was supposed to make people happy, while she could, and to learn about them.

"Are you sure it would be alright? No one would mind? I swear on my star I won't do anything to damage them."

With her tears dried, Etoile was back to her chipper, beautiful self, grinning at Dorian and hugging his arm. She was begging to be let downstairs to see the dresses, giving him puppy-dog eyes and pouting out her lip. She'd seen girls at school do this to their boyfriends to get what they wanted, so it would work now, right? To make Dorian forget all about her tears.

"Can you tell me more about the whole process? All the way from sketches to runways?"
