As the sun crested over the horizon, the beach were still populated by a number of people. These folk however did not come to watch the beautiful sunset as nearly everyone here was digging through the sand hopping to catch instead a glimmer of gold or silver ever since the news of old coins washing ashore made the news. Mimzu was no exception, riding atop her mighty crustacean as its oversized claws dig into the water soaked sand in search of more "pretties" to add to her collection. As Sebastian the crab plucked yet another coin from the earth, Mimzu squealed with delight as she feels the coin between her fingers. After giving the crab a loving pat, she tossed the coin inside her bowl. The coin then sinks, joining the small horde of coins that amassed at the bottom of the bowl.

"Good good Mister Sebastion! Let's look over and find more of the pretty disks!" announced Mimzu, her crab mount complying with her command and starts to dig in another spot that brings her closer to some of the other people still around.

((All are welcome to join! No posting order. Just have fun finding old coins <3 ))

There was a white fox at the beach, staring firmly at the vastness of the sea, the waters caressing his forepaws, the sun rays glistening within the "scarf" around his neck. Umiko's golden eyes were silently asking the ocean numerous questions to which he would have to pursue himself, his unmoving body displayed not a single emotion... Except those ears of his, which reacted to numerous sounds, specially the clinking of a treasure that had been found by a deep sea being that was out the sea.

Flicker stepped, slowly at first, and then more confidently onto the beach. Sand always felt so weird...! She'd been on beaches before, but the woodlands were her home. And this sand was so... so squishy...! So much finer and softer than the pebbly sand from her home beaches. The selkie smiled as her toes squished into the sand, her furry knock-off Uggs already set aside with a few other pairs of shoes. For a moment, she considered ditching her coat, but decided it would be a bit too cold for her human self. But it was also kinda constricting, honestly.

How to sprout two seeds with one shovel...?

Easy.

The selkie chose that moment to shift into a silvertip grizzly. Now, that was nice! What? So what if there weren't other bears about? There was a fox down the beach, and some hyper-searching chick riding a giant crab down the other end. As far as Flicker was concerned, she was perfectly normal here, and now wasn't that just something?

She shook out her fur and delivered a gaping yawn. It was nice, almost like a furry boot for her entire body. This form was honestly one of her favorites — and it had the best sense of smell out of them all.

With that, she put her snoot to the ground and got to sniffin', looking for any sliver of metal she could sense... and, perhaps, keeping an eye out for anyone she might know.

It was a beautiful evening and Om happily chattered away with the small , yet colourful, group of goblins making their way along the beach. What goblin could resist grabbing free shiny things? Certainly not them. Beyond that there was the ocean itself, still fascinating to the tunnel-dwellers even after living on the island for a while.

Om would've come sooner, but like most of the goblins in the group, they had thought it too bright out and wanted to go with their pack of friends anyways. Now and then one of them would find a coin, or a seashell, or even a pretty piece of glass, and they would bring it back for the rest of them to ooh and ahh over before putting it in the lucky goblin's bag or pockets.

The group also looked for anyone they knew, most of them remedial students. Om being the face of the goblins for so long and therefore more social with outsiders was not surprised that he was the first to recognize someone. They waved to their little foosball friend Mimzu, before getting distracted by Arheen calling up ahead.

Then they noticed the fox and the bear. They waved to both animals too, "Hii!". And though Om didn't recognize Flicker right away, they did wonder if one of them might be her.

Flicker picked up the goblins with her nose long before she saw them. They held a familiar scent — earthiness, like her own, and magic, but with the peculiar twinge of what she could only describe as "wholesome metallic greed." It wasn't that she could smell their morality, of course, but her experiences with goblins, combined with their particular scents, had created such an impression in her mind.

If the goblins had come, then that meant...

Inside, Flicker smiled with glee!

It took her a few moments to make out Om's shape down the beach, but when she did, she stood up on her hind legs and issued a little wave. From then, she dropped down and slow-galloped over to him. Shortly before reaching him, and while running on all fours, she shifted easily, her fur engulfing her body before returning to the brown choker around her now-very-human neck. Flicker transitioned easily from her four-legged bear gallop and into a forward roll, before smoothly straightening out onto her feet in a standing pose. Easy stuff for a practiced selkie such as herself.

"Hey Om!" she said, beaming. She loved this guy. "Here for some_booty?_"

It was meant to be a pirate joke, but quiet laughter bubbled up from her own lips as she realized how odd that'd sound if Om didn't get it.

Mimzu was far to preoccupied with watching Sebastian dig out a large sandy hole to really noticed the lonely white fox staring listlessly at the ocean nor the large ursine that suddenly appeared. As the crab moved around digging holes across the beach, its claw struck a large buried object.

Curious, Mimzu leaned over her bowl to try to see what it was all of the messy sand made impossible for her guess whatever it was it was suppose to be. With point of her finger the crab would continue to dig and dig until they successfully excavated soggy piece driftwood. Mimzu's excitement was quickly dashed, bummed out by the disappointing find but her giant pet crab seemed fond of munching on it.

"Hrmm... nope... looks like no treasure here..." stated Mimzu with long sigh.

It was then she noticed her old foosball friend Om and gave him a great but wave with her small arm. She was then surprised by the shaggy bear creature ran up to Om and transform into a human lady. While she couldn't make out the conversation, her mind already settle on the idea the lady was Om's girlfriend and there was nothing that would change mind about that! For now she would leave them be and continue the search for more treasure.

"Come on Sebastian! Now is not the time for eating. Toss it away and lets go digging over there!" directed the young eel-like mermaid, her crab obeyed the command and tossed the driftwood aimlessly aside.

While the piece of wood was airborn, its trajectory would have it land close to where Umiko was sat. While the driftwood wouldn't land on the fox, it would come close with only inches to spare if Umiko continued to remain in their spot.

His calmness remained undisturbed for long, Umiko was almost understanding what the sea was trying to tell him... Until the driftwood came flying and alerted him, causing him to hop away from its landing site. After getting his bearings, he did notice the deep sea being and her "crab mech"? It was more like a giant crab carrying a fishbowl anyways.

After enough thought, he realized what they were up to: looking for treasures. But still, seeing Mimzu piqued his interest, and Umiko slowly made his way toward them, however eyes on the ground and ears perked up, nose twitching ever so lightly. A few feet away from them, he made a stop, sniffing a particular stop, before he started digging. What would he find?

It was probably about as large as him, seemed to contain something good in it. He could smell it, a faint hint of... Gold? Not just gold, there was some silver and copper too, he was almost sure of it. Probably of a decent value for its time, not as much these days. Who knew, could be just a small chest with a few gold items in it. "I got something here!", he called out telepathically as he continued to dig.

(((OOC: I actually rolled 3d6 and got 4 three times. To explain: medium size (compared to Umiko anyways), apparently a treasure (6 would have been surely a treasure, so this could be just a small treasure in a chest or just an object made of gold, silver and copper.), slightly valuable these days (could probably be sold for a decent money, but nothing life-changing))))

If they had not been expecting a shifter, Om wouldn't have stayed still with a bear running at them. As it was, it did nothing to help their twitchiness and they backed up a few steps, getting closer to the other goblins. A pack of goblins could take on a bear, but they'd definitely prefer not to.

When Flicker transformed, Om's eyes lit up at her stunt, and they clapped enthusiastically. "Flick!" They didn't recognize the word booty at first. It was an uncommon word, and they had not spoken much English since they were eight. But when they did remember they giggled, "Y-yes p-pirates! Aar!" The effect might've been ruined by their stutter.

Excited to see his friend, Om called over a pink goblin nearly a foot shorter than them. They chattered a moment in goblin before the pink goblin smiled at Flicker. "I'm Arheen. Om says you are their drinking buddy." He smirked over at Om and whispered something else in goblin that had Om blushing faintly and shaking their head, before he ran off again. Arheen called back over his shoulder, "Nice to meet you! "

The same thing was repeated a few more times with the other goblins, Om the only one without a language charm. Even the apparent teasing in goblin, though Om seemed less embarrassed by the others. After the introductions, Om finally got the chance to ask, "D-did you find shiny things yet?"

Mimzu had Sebastian dig some more in the sand but came up with nothing but a few broken sea shell to show for. She looked over the rim of her bowl having noticed the fox creature seemed to be digging out some. When the fox announce that it had made a discovery, the little mermaid's interest was piqued. With tap on bowl, the crab ceased digging and Sebastian side walks next to Umiko.

"Oh! You do? Oh let us help!" squeaked Mimzu with excitement, directing the crab to dig into the ground and pulls out what looks to be a small wooden jewelry box. While the outside battered and scratched, it seemed whatever was inside was undamaged as it was still locked up. Taking its large claw, Sebastian makes quick work of the rusted bronze latch and reveals 5 signet rings nestled inside. All them looked to be made from silver save for the one which was gold. Each ring seems to have an impression of castle-like structure and some text originating from an unknown language.

"Oooohhh... pretty! What are they?" inquired Mimzu, nearly falling out of her bowl to take one of the silver rings and inspects it.

There was a glint in Umiko's eyes as he kept digging, and now had the assistance of a huge crab. Although the box was damaged on the outside, likely from their frantic digging for it, it was satisfying for him to see the content inside was undamaged. No, he didn't plan on keeping anything, he was just in this for fun at this point. "Hm, they seem to be European nobility rings, seems to date from 16th or 17th century. A good treasure, even if it is no chest full of gold, seems to carry a decent value these days.", he pointed out, "Ah, my name is Umiko, nice to meet you.", his tail flowed like the waves, even following its rhythm.
