Too many new places to memorize. Darzih had an assignment to learn how to use his phone by taking pictures of specified locations around the school. In his left hand was a flip-phone, in his right was a clipboard with a sheet of paper listing out locations with a name next to it. Three locations were crossed out by the pencil attached to the top of the board, showing the slow progress Darzih was making.

Wandering about, Darzih stared at the paper, mumbling to himself about how some of these things are too easy to miss. He had been to the courtyard two times already, yet still couldn't find the bench that was covered in scratches. So focused was he on the paper that he walked into the giant fountain, hitting his leg against where people would sit. He let out a short yelp as he cringed. Darzih looked around the school in a panic. There had to be someone to push the pain off to. The school told him to not abuse that power, but it wasn't abuse when he was in actual pain, was it?

He sat down on the fountain's edge, his face still twisted in pain. Darzih was used to people who could detect magic, but not to this extent. So many people could tell when he was using his magic. It was nervewracking. The school wasn't hurting him either, so he didn't want to get on their bad side.

"It's not that I dislike you. I just like me better."

Waverly, being the best big sister she could possibly manage, was on her way home with Adrien after his school let out. Every day, she would be up to take him to school and back before it even let out, just so she would be sure he got there and back safe. It wasn't so much that she was paranoid, but she was obviously uncomfortable with being around so many people that weren't like her. Adrien was, of course, the exception to her discomfort. She had practically raised him, after all. "Ade, what do you think about ice cream on the way home?" was what she was trying to say, but as she started her sentence she heard a thud, and a yelp. "Ade, what do you think about- Holy sh-...it." She made an effort not to swear in front of her brother, but she was still getting used to her choice. "Wave, I think that guy's hurt." Adrien, a tall boy of eight years old, ignored his sister's cuss and pointed at the rather large boy who sat on the edge of the fountain. "I see that," was all she could say before Adrien let go of her hand and ran the boy. "Are you alright?" Adrien asked as he ran up to Darzih.

Waverly crossed her arms and cocked her head wondering some rather rude thoughts, but quickly followed her little brother to check if the other kid was alright. Okay, not a kid. "I don't think anyone that tall can be considered a kid anymore." She thought, correcting her mental notes as she approached. But still, Waverly always had a way with words. "Hey kid, you okay?" Her voice was low and (almost) comforting as she knelt on one knee in front of him, at a relatively safe distance. Adrien, however, got perhaps a little too close for Wave's comfort. He clambered up onto the fountain beside the pink haired boy so he could look him in the eyes more easily, as he was curious about his appearance.

Darzih hadn't expected a child to approach him. The clipboard and phone laid next to him as he rubbed his sore legs. "I'm... fine," he replied. It wouldn't be good to target this kid. Or anyone for that matter. Rebuilding his reputation as someone who was cursed to reflect his pain onto others wouldn't be easy here.

He looked at the woman who followed behind the boy. 'I'm an adult. Do I look like a kid?" he stated blandly. His eyes looked the child over. This was certainly what a real human child looked.

"It's not that I dislike you. I just like me better."

Waverly raised an eyebrow at his comment about not looking like a child, but she mostly held in her retort. "Appearance wise, no. No body here looks like how I expect them to. But still, if I'm going in order: You're clumsy, you look lost, you're in school grounds. You don't look competent enough to be a college student, so I'm guessing high school at best. A kid." She stood as she spoke and rocked back on one hip, giving herself a rather aggressive "Mean Girl" stance. It wasn't on purpose: Wave was just rude.

"Waverly!" Adrien whined. He didn't like it when she was rude to people. The boy pouted his lips and rolled his eyes at his sister. "I think you look cool! Are you wearing contacts? How'd you grow so tall? Your ears look soft, can I touch them? Are you sure your leg is okay?" The little boy made sure he asked these questions, particularly the question about touching, while he wasn't too close. While infinitely curious, he learned the hard way not to touch people here without permission. Waverly ripped her eyes away from Darzih to give Adrien a warning glance, then looked back at the much larger boy. Man. Person. "Sorry," she said stiffly, "We're not used to non-humans yet. This is Adrien, I'm Waverly. We're... New." She didn't like that word. "New." What a simple, weak word. It sounded like an excuse when she said it. "Waverly gets lost everywhere, but I know my way around! Are you new? Waverly said you looked lost, can I help you find something?" Again, Waverly gave Adrien a warning glance, but her eyes softened as she looked at him trying to be helpful. She had no idea where his personality came from; certainly not her parents.

Darzih stared blankly at the woman. He was too amused by her faulty logic to be truly annoyed. The fact that they were new reassured him that he wasn't dealing with anyone worth snapping back to.

"I'm not lost, and I have tested as an adult. I only got here a few days ago and I'm on an assignment to learn about the school grounds. All three of us being new, let's not make assumptions about one another." He eyed Waverly for a moment, then looked back down to the child.

"Everything about me but the green and pink on my eyelids are natural. I am tall because I am tall. Don't touch me. My leg will," he winced, remembering it, "be fine."
