Although most likely to his chagrin, Bastien's striking appearance is hard to miss.

Bastien stands tall at 192cm, with a subtle athletic and proud build to contrast his timid posture and humble personality. His second pair of arms adjoining the sides of his hips is iconic to his Kyreść [ˈkɨʀəɕt͡ɕ] ancestry. His lustrous dark-bronze skin complements the glow of his deep cerulean eyes. His long, ashen hair is kept with a Poumérit [ˈpuːmɛʀit], a curved wooden rod used to fix hair.
Bastien prefers to dress simply, and is most comfortable donning the Blaettéġi [ˈblaːˌtːɛɢi] (lit. "flat wood"), a torso garment consisting of a single sheet of cloth wrapped around the torso with a wooden board offering protection, and Sallan [ˈsaʎ̝an], a shin-length sheet of fabric wrapped around the waist covering the legs.

Although striking in appearance, Bastien prefers to keep to himself, but has no problem being a socialite when he desires to. Those who get to know Bastien will find him to be very warm and sincere. He respects other's peace and quiet, but will not hesitate to enjoy small talks with people when the situation is suitable.
He is often lost in thought, and thus will often overlook minor details. As such, he can be considered as quite forgetful. However, he can be very observant when focused on something, and will try his best to obtain or achieve what it is that he sets his eyes on. Sometimes, that ambition does him more harm than good.

Well Armed - His Kyreść heritage grants him an extra pair of arms located around the waist, allowing him to interact and utilise with more things at the same time, as well as use more complex combat tactics and equipment only possible with the usage of more than two hands. However, this makes his manoeuvrability more cumbersome in tight spaces and more vulnerable as a target in combat.
Sanded and Primed - His Kyreść heritage grants him greater manoeuvrability on sandy terrains, and offers better resistance to heat. He performs well in volatile climate, but familiarises himself best in dry environments.

Bastien's powers require the use of the Galbańy tam Ngoul [galˈbanɨ tam ˈŋuːl] (lit. "Galbańy and bowl"). Galbańy tam Ngoul consists of two parts: the Galbańy, a small instrument resembling a rectangular spoon with a thick club-like handle made from silver-rich stone, and the Ngoul, a small circular wooden bowl polished with tree root oil. The spoon end of the Galbańy is used for oleturgy, while the club-end is used for halurgy.
Bastien also utilises low-level small-scale magic in order to extract the ingredients required for his powers. The exact measurements varies with the size of the Ngoul.
Oleturgy - Using the spoon end of the Galbańy, Bastien uses the spoon and magic to extract oils from organic material or inorganic natural sources, up to around 80 percent of the capacity of the Ngoul at a time. The oils can be kept in a container for later usage, or mixed together to create oil blends for varying purposes, such as creating poisonous oils to cause harm, or healing remedies to cure wounds and illnesses.
Halurgy - Using the club end of the Galbańy, Bastien uses the club and magic to extract salts from organic material or inorganic natural sources, up to the around 80 percent of the capacity of the Ngoul at a time. The salts can be kept in a container for later usage, or mixed together to create salt blends for varying purposes, such as creating burning or irritant salts to cause harm, or mineral supplements to enhance the strengths and vitality of those who ingest them.
Similar oils and salts can be combined and/or used together to enhance the effects of the oils and salts applied. The Galbańy can be used to hurl salts and oils at a distance of approximately 5 meters, depending on the viscosity/granule size, weight, and amount of oil/salt on the spoon end.

— Background —
Bastien was born to a proud Kyreść family, with 3 other siblings. Of all the children in his family, he was the second to last in age. He was well educated from since his early years, but did not excel in his studies as a child. His elder sister, Qarijja, was wounded during a gathering trip and suffered from a severe infection on her second right arm, and passed away 2 months later.
From then on, Bastien decided to study medicinal arts in order to protect those around him. After graduating from high school specialising in healing arts, Bastien decided to leave his home in order to pursue his ambitions of getting the highest honour degrees in halurgy and oleturgy, so that he will be able to help as many people as possible and develop new techniques and advancements in those fields. He found himself in Monta Carlos on his journey, and decided to seek the fuel for his ambitions here.
— Additional Information —
- His weapon of choice in combat consists of a small traditional Kyreść knife wielded in the right-hand. He keeps his other hands free for grabbing vials of salts and oils from his left belt pouches when needed.
- He enjoys music, and can often be seen playing on a lute or flute during his spare time, and can also sing very well. However, he rarely sings in the presence of others.
