Appearance Description: On most days Bal resembles your average human teen. He maintains well kept hair and for the most part dresses normally. He stands at about 5'9” with an athletic build. Of course what's notable for him is how generally casual he is in terms of using his abilities to mimic other people's natural features or altering himself physically for the sole purpose of making life convenient for him. His truest form is actually a formless black mass.
Personality Description: Initially Bal tends to come off as absentminded. He generally says what's on his mind and behaves unpredictably. He has a degree of ignorance when it comes to behaving in social settings. If he sees no point in doing something one way he'll opt to do it his own way. Simple things such as “why use silverware if you can form mouths on your hands and eat with said mouths” and so on. However no matter how he comes off, he's actually a good deal sharper than he lets on.
In recent months Bal has gotten a good deal better at understanding humans. This is in stark contrast to his father who sees most sapient life as little more than fascinating subjects to study.
Active Abilities:
Shapeshifting: Bal's basic shapeshifting abilities allow him to make changes to his physical appearance such as sprouting extra body parts, and aging himself to look older or younger. He can even swap his gender with ease. Either to make himself look “cooler” or out of convenience. When defending himself he can shift his limbs into blades or bludgeoning objects.
Bal has the ability to shift into naturally occurring animals, nothing supernatural. He can become as small as an ant, and no larger than an elephant. Any larger causes a strain on his body, thus making the form more fragile than it should be, any smaller causes him to lose mobility, in some cases burst into the puddle that is his true form. Bal can become scaled up/down versions of animals, take on their features in human form, or hybrids.
Chaos magic: Balthazar can fire beams from his eyes that can turn a person into an animal. What animal the target becomes is entirely out of his control. The beams themselves have a range of six feet and the effects last roughly five minutes and targets still retain their powers, intellect, and ability to speak. In the case of other shifters whatever form they happen to be in will remain that animal however if they shift the other form won't be effected.
Levitation: Bal can levitate up to five feet off the ground. He can move as fast as he can run when floating.
Passive Abilities:
Physique: Bal has a very malleable physique given that his most natural form has no real shape. As such it's hard to injure him using conventional methods such as fists, knives, and bullets. He simply reforms within a matter of seconds. Generally speaking, he retains the hearing and senses of a dog.
He's susceptible to fire which can wear down his total mass faster than he can reform. Electricity can cause his body to simply go haywire and fly out of control. At the right intensity, electricity can have a similar effect as fire. Finally, freezing him solid leaves him brittle and unable to move until he thaws out.

Biography: Balthazar Greene is the odd estranged son of Profesor Eliazar Greene. He was originally a strange black mass that the professor coughed up. Unsure of its importance, he put it in a jar and kept it with him wherever he went. What he wasn't aware of was the mass was gaining consciousness, and learning during this time. Eventually escaped while the professor was on vacation off island. The professor in the meantime came to the conclusion someone must have stolen it out from under his nose in an attempt to sell it somewhere. In two years time, the black mass had grown and even taken on a human form. Scouts trailing a string of odd incidents eventually tracked down a young man who now went be Balthazar wandering in London. He was promptly brought to Manta Carlos and enrolled at Starlight Academy. He has yet to formally meet his father.
