Sure, Angelo had seen the fire, but he hadn't really processed it. Not really. He'd seen people on the island that were literally made out of fire, who simply walked around without actually burning anyone. So he hadn't thought it would actually hurt when Roa's tears hit his shoulder.

It did. It hurt like lava hitting his flesh, and Angelo gritted his teeth, hissing in pain as his hand went up instinctively to shield himself.

Which was a bad plan. Roa'd already pulled back, and he'd effectively just stuck his hand in something that was burning, even though it was rapidly cooling.

He at the very least had the sense to pull his hand back, exposing the damage to the air--and to Roa. Roa could heal. He knew that much, even if it hurt like hell, and he'd been in enough crisis situations to know how to calm himself down and follow instructions.

But if Roa was paying attention, he'd realize that Angelo's injuries had already started to heal, even before his intervention - the edges were knitting themselves together, healing as they went. Not instantly, but still visible, as Angelo silently burned through his extended lifespan to repair the damage without even realizing it.

Roa's hand began to glow with a golden glow as he move to undo the damage he'd done. His focus had shifted and the young hybrid seemed to pause. The light faded away and he seemed to be glaring at the wound itself. He didn't broadcast his healing abilities as much, but that didn't mean he was totally ashamed of them. His anger had shifted from his incarcerated sister to this new turn of events.

"Angelo," his lip twitched, "What the hell is this shit?"

Something about suddenly finding out the man could heal quickly rubbed him the wrong way. How dare the wound he cause heal quickly without telling him it could do that. Roa growled, it was still taking too long for his tastes, he was tired of looking at it anyway. He went back to work uttering his grievances in some demonic tongue.

"It's probably not a good idea for me to visit Shay anytime soon. I need to cool off and think," he growled

As weird as it no doubt sounded, Angelo hadn't quite known he regenerated. He'd been lucky, and for the most part his powers had been about getting him not to be hurt first and foremost.

But healing it was. The damage was visibly healing over, leaving fresh pink skin where teh damage was. Roa's own assistance helped it heal that much faster, and the damage was completely gone, with not even pink to show it was there at all.

"That's... fine," Angelo said in response to Roa's comment about Shay. "I'm not going to try and make you see her at all, unless you want to."

Angelo paused for a long moment, not quite sure what to say about the rest.

"And... I'm not... uh, entirely sure about the healing. Normally it's not anything more than a scuff at work, and I've been pretty lucky overall." No one had shot him, basically. "I guess a new variation of my powers?"

Roa nodded, Angelo was a reasonable enough person to understand why he wouldn't. He found himself staring at the spot the wound was. This was a strange day, he was all wound up now but strangely tired. "Lucky," he frowned at his guardian, "Just means I won't have to put as much effort into putting you back together if you do anything stupid in front of me. And don't go running off dying to whatever bullshit you deal with at work. Cat's alright, but I don't feel like dealing with....Enzo."

The rant effectively translated to "that's good, stay safe" but Roa was arguably physically incapable of just saying as much. He grunted and looked away. "So is that it then?"

Angelo nodded to Roa's question, straightening up a bit and giving him what he hoped was a fatherly pat on the back. Angelo wasn't terribly good at the fatherly thing. His own father figures were pretty far from ideal, but he was trying--reading books and things, and trying to find good figures to look up to.

"If you need anything, just give me a shout, alright?" Angelo said, but assuming that Roa didn't have anything more to say, that was it - he'd head out, leaving Roa to digest it on his own time.

"Yeah I know. I'll be fine," Roa growled and looked away. His real father wasn't anywhere near this affectionate with him. Angelo was doing what he could though, and he appreciated that. Honestly, he wasn't doing a bad job all things considered. Taking all of them in couldn't have been easy. He'd pay him back for it somehow.

He was at a point where he could just think on this for a little bit. Everything was all messed up now... or at least that's how it felt. Thinking on it was all he really could do for now. He moved and flopped onto his bed as Angelo headed out of his room. All he could do now was wait until Shay was out and they could talk in person.
