She listened carefully as the lady offered a more indepth explanation of her so-called emotional feeding. She calmed down a bit and sat up a little straighter. Still a little uneasy, but trusting enough in the explanation to feel safe. Vampires sounded very scary, but as long as no biting teeth were involved, she was ok with it. Although it made her wonder... would the woman sparkle in the sunlight too, like in the popular movies she was never allowed to watch? Better not to ask, maybe it would be offensive.

''Oh wow, New York...'' she whispered in awe. The city where dreams were made. ''If you don't mind me asking.. H-how, ehm, when did you get to this island?'' A long time ago could mean so many things, so she was curious what Violetta was referring to. She had so many more questions, bubbling up in her head, but she was afraid to ask too much.

Vi had to think about it. How long had she been living on the island? "I've been here for... a year and... wow getting close to a year and a half I think." Time had gone fairly quickly. It seemed like just yesterday she was being pulled away from... yeah.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I meant I left there when I was little. I did a lot of traveling before I came here." Her goofy grin didnt reveal the less fun memories that brought up. She was mostly over that part of her life. Mostly.

But of course the girl was curious about how she got there. And Vi didnt want to shrug that off or dismiss her question, the girl was clearly new. "I guess the easiest way to explain it is a scout found out about me and took me away from somewhere pretty unhealthy for me. Emotionally, I mean. What about you?"

Lorelei looked up to the woman, in more than one way. She was sitting with her shoulders dropping down, her back slumped, hiding her body. But she also felt intimidated by the self-secure, world-wise attitude that the woman seemed to carry so effortlessly. And the travelling she mentioned, wow. Lorelei had always dreamed to travel - but then, when her abilities had manifested themselves, travelling had turned into a nightmare, dragging her from place to place without any control.

She quietly listened as Violetta explained more about her journey. It sounded kind of similar to her own experience, which was comforting in a way. ''Yeah, I get that.. I was lost, far away from home. And I couldn't really go back, so this man told me about a place to go.'' She felt a little homesick saying the truth: she couldn't go back. ''I was pretty scared when he told me about the island, I didn't know what to expect. And I had never flown before.'' Lorelei unsuccessfully tried to suppress a yawn. She wasn't used to staying out this late, or drinking, and especially not the combination of the two. She hid her mouth behind her hand. ''Oh sorry,'' she apologized, as she saw it as impolite, almost implying her company was boring her.

She could sense each minute shift in emotions as the other girl reacted and then spoke about her own situation. But Vi wasn't one to judge. Aside from the fact that all strong emotions tasted good regardless of whether they were positive or negative- and that was a pretty good motivating factor, she genuinely like to hear people out and try to give comfort where she could.

"I hadn't flown much before either. Only when we really had to. I don't know where you were or what you are looking for now but this island is a pretty amazing place. Rude people who leave you behind aside, of course." She wanted to go on about the benefits of living there or draw her further into conversation to make her feel better but Vi recognized the signs of someone who was very tired. And she could guess the alcohol wasn't helping too much in that regard.

Vi smiled at her and then laughed. "It's ok. I don't really need to sleep but I know a yawn when I hear one. Would you like me to walk you back to wherever you're going now? I'm sure some sleep will do you some good."

Violetta's remark about the fact that her so-called friends had rudely left her behind evoked a small sigh. It had been stupid of her to expect more, to be honest. Why would anyone actually want to wait up for her, of all people. Of course they hadn't waited, they had better things to do.

She yawned, but tried to hide it. How rude of her. Luckily, the woman didn't seem to mind. ''Yes, please,'' she accepted, with a grateful smile on her face. Although Lorelei's mind immediately started looking for a reason behind the kind offer - maybe she simply wanted to get rid of her so she could continue her night. No, no, that didn't make sense. She was genuinely nice, she had to be or she wouldn't still be here. She had to stop feeling so stupidly insecure. Lorelei stood up from the bench, took a deep breath and spoke her mind with a clear voice: ''Thank you for making my night a bit better.'' That had taken a silly amount of bravery for a simple comment, but she felt proud that she did it anyway.

Vi grinned back in her, apparently, usual way. "I'm really glad I found you when I did. And not just because I've been feeding on your emotions," she laughed and let the 'o' in 'emotions' draw out a little longer in her delight. But she was being genuine too. Someone who did actually want to hear her out and help if they could.

As if to solidify that idea she reached out a hand towards Lorelei after hopping up and smoothing out her clothes with the other hand. "Come on, and if you feel like you might stumble don't worry about it. I'm stronger than I look." One slightly overdramatic flex later and she was ready to lead the other girl home. Just one thing though. She still needed to know which place to lead her to. "Oh. Oops. Where am I leading you to again?"

It was still slightly creepy, the whole feeding vampire thing. But Lorelei felt fine, as fine as she could reasonably expect under these circumstances. There was no bite mark in her neck, no blood dripping out. Just a woman who could apparently taste emotion waves. A decent score, considering all the dangers of the city that her parents used to warn her about. Yeah, so far for never talk to strangers.

''Ohh, I can walllk,'' she assured Violetta a bit too confidently. Her buzzed brain had almost forgotten about the high heels she was wearing. She wobbled a bit, but regained her balance, much to her own surprise. Just to be sure, she still grabbed Violetta's hand. She then closed her eyes for a second to concentrate. ''My school - ehm, Starlight academy.'' It shouldn't be far, if she remembered correctly. ''Thank y-wait I already said that,'' she said, shaking her head. So, which way to go?

"Easy enough, I live in the dorms too. Dont sleep there much but that's more of a 'me' thing," she grinned and began leading Lorelei towards where she knew the path between the city and the school was. She would have thanked the gods for giving everyone that shortcut but... it was better if she and the gods weren't around eachother. For everyone's sake.

"Really you dont need to thank me, but maybe next time you can make sure the people you're going with are actually friends. I know I would never just abandon a friend-especially if they were a little buzzed and not really familiar with the area." She was mixing seriousness with the happy go lucky attitude that may or may not have been stemming from the feeding.

But when she started humming to herself it was pretty nice. And it didnt take long to get to the path with Vi leading them.
